We shared an excellent PIZZA followed by two pastas -- Cacio de Pepe, and Bucatini Amatriciana. More than enough food for two people. Felipe took good care of us. Concept is fairly simple: choose what type of pasta you want, the sauce, and any toppings. I needed some form of sauce so I got the customary red sauce with spinach, mozzarella cheese, and tomatoes over rigatoni. The pasta is cooked al dente. It took about 5-10 mins for it to be ready. The only blemish is that I wish there was an option for a spicier red sauce. There was one (I think?) but it had bacon so I had to pass. It was filling though. Prices are what they are for being near the central area. But at least it's quick.....

Anniversary Dinner in Barcelona -- Pleasantly Surprised!…read more Celebrated our anniversary here at Luigi's while in Barcelona, and honestly, I was surprised that it wasn't as expensive as I expected for a nice sit-down spot in the city. Service was decent and the food came out at a good pace. We started with the Burrata salad (€14), which was super refreshing, especially with the balsamic vinaigrette. We also ordered the prosciutto pizza (around €14), which was simple, tasty, and hit the spot. Of course, I had to try the truffle pasta (about €13) -- creamy and comforting just the way I like it. Hubby ordered the seafood linguine (€15), and that was actually a standout -- light, flavorful, and packed with the perfect amount of shrimp. Overall, such a nice spot to enjoy Italian food in Barcelona without breaking the bank. Definitely a pleasant surprise for our anniversary dinner. Happy eats!

With plenty of time to review the menu, we decided to select a few entrees across their extensive menu. The Margherita pizza was excellent with a flaky outer crust and a medium rare interior dressed with fresh tomato's. The pumpkin ravioli was also superb with a hint of pumpkin in a butter sauce. The lasagna was decent and the presentation on the scallops fun. Conveniently located next door to a few hotels.

Thank you, Yelp! I…read morestrolled up to Obe at the end of a weeklong business trip. It would be my last dinner in Barcelona, but it was among the best. Let's start with the pan y tomate. I've eaten this traditional treat at several Barcelona restaurants, and I believe Obe has the best. The best. It was crunchy and tomatoey and oily in all the right ways. An incredible treat for 3,50€. For dinner, I had the tagliata steak with arugula, cherry tomatoes, and parmesan. Although I think 22,50€ is probably too steep for the small amount of food I received, I really enjoyed the meal. As far as the atmosphere, it's very quaint - similar to a small bistro as opposed to a romantic place. My server was incredibly nice as I fumbled with my Spanish. I overheard other English speakers who made no attempt at Spanish and they were able to get by. If you want pan y tomate done right, a small, quiet atmosphere, and lovely service, I highly recommend popping into Obe.
