I called Andy Handyman Services to have some work done in my office. He called back a few hours later and we set a time for him to come look at the work. We both agreed on the time. Well the time came and went, he never showed up or called to say what happened. Pretty rude and not very professional. UPDATE: Our scheduled a appointment was Monday between 4:30-5:00 pm. Tuesday at 11:00 am Andy and employee shows up to walk-through. No phone call. They just show up and stated "We were suppose to be here yesterday at 5 pm. We couldn't make it we were in traffic." Thank you Yelp! This guy rocks! We give Andy a call whenever we think he can help. So far we have been able to get him quickly and he is punctual. He's super nice and soft spoken. If he doesn't get it right the first time he will certainly get it right quickly the second time! My roommate who is a former handyman was impressed with his skill at replacing the glass in an antique multi-paned window. While he was at it he even sanded the door where it was too tight and re-painted the area. That wasn't even requested, he just took the initiative! You can tell he is a knowledgable, nice and honest guy. One time he had his son with him, who was well behaved. I think it's great when you can take your kid to work with you. I can tell he is a responsible family guy. I bet his son learns a lot by his example. This is the third time we've had him over and certainly our first choice for next time, we would have had to pay way more had we called a plumber! # AWFUL - BUYER BEWARE# If you want a job that is not up to the standards of a professional, call Andy Handyman Services. SIMPLE LANDSCAPING/CLEANUP - AWFUL He has his wife/partner go out with him on jobs, and leaves her there to complete jobs for him, I am sure has NO experience with the types of work that need to be done. He sent his wife on a job that he did not attend, to do something as simple as garden cleanup and she ended up cutting down bushes that were NOT to be removed, needless to say people were very upset. PLUMBING - BEWARE We were having an issue with our outdoor plumbing, seemed like not enough pressure from the pipes to our outside pipes so that we could water our garden. We called Andy, he came out and we thought he fixed the issue....he did not. We ended up with NO water instead. When we called to state the problem, he told us that he would be back out to fix the problem, we had to wait for days for him to return, and no he did not fix the problem. DONT LET HIS SOFT SPOKEN VOICE AND MILD DEMEANOR FOOL YOU, Andy is rude, sarcastic and condescending, even with his not so perfect spoken English, terrible customer service. If you need any type of plumbing services, i suggest you call a REAL PLUMBER for any type of water issues, and forget about the any type of small to medium landscaping, he will send inexperienced family members to do the job for him and cause a larger issue. ANDY GOES MISSING FOR DAYS WHILE ON YOUR JOB (SEE OTHER REVIEWS) Andy will leave in the middle of a customer job, leave the job unfinished and will not return for days to complete it. I have since found out that he works for a person who owns numerous properties in the contra costa area. Andy is not only the property manager of these numerous properties but the handyman too. I had some work scheduled with Andy over two weeks in advanced. I had to take time off work to be home during the repairs. I received a quote a few days prior and every thing seemed great. I got an email (not even a call) from Andy the day of at 9:00AM that he would not make it because of another job he had to tend to that apparently went a day over. He could not call or email the night before? I won't be using him and definitely wouldn't recommend if you're looking for someone who can honor a commitment and provide adequate notice when they cannot make it. read more

I probably could have gone 5 stars on this. I called 2 hours ago, he got here, prepared and quickly fixed a minor repair for a fee that was about 10% of what I expected to pay. I was so very pleasantly surprised! I'm calling this place again in the future for sure! read more

Andy didn't complete painting, in fact it was untouched in most areas, didn't install new faucet as requested, but said he would, overcharged me in door by 50%, seemed to be good with outside plumbing leak, but completely failed by incorrectly routing water heater exhaust(had to hire someone else to install drip pan and reroute piping. He claimed he would replace 4 outlets that Showed reverse polarity. At payday he said he didn't know how! He did haul away junk to his credit! He promised completion in no more than 3 days but disappeared for days with no excuse! Andy was opinionated about many things except performing his job! Lastly he was asked to rework the patching on kitchen floor when on payday he had not touched it! I've read his good reviews and wonder what happened in this case! He appears like able but in the final analysis makes promises he can't keep, overcharges, disappears And Andy doesn't measure in any category. read more

Had a leaky dripping sound from our master closet. After 2 calls to handymen that wouldn't respond, I jumped on Yelp and found Andy Handyman. So responsive!! Was able to come over (in the pouring rain) and assessed my attic and closet and instantly fixed the problem by going on the roof and sealing some areas. Took pictures so I could show my husband and also gave us roofing tips. Definitely plan on having him come out for future work. Highly recommend! read more

Nothing but wonderful things to say. My husband and I had done most of our bathroom remodel ourselves but we're stumped when we couldn't get a leak on the drain pipe to stop. Andy was at my house within the hour of my call. He quickly identified and fixed the problem, and he spent the time explaining to me why we had the leak when I asked.
