Between Duomo and the Castle, Andry is not on main streets, but it's worth to search for it in the calm central narrow streets. You can find a very wide and interesting offer, with daily proposals, seasonal proposals and normal menu: it can take 10 minutes to read and choose among all the traditional and creative proposals, and it's a hard choice! Service is great: offered glass of champagne as soon as you are seated and fast, careful and professional service. It's also good for business lunch: you can have starter, main course and dessert in one hour, and nothing is pre-cooked, but freshly prepared. A recommended restaurant for high quality typical Italian food at interesting prices.

It's a little gem hiding in a little street, great authentic food and reasonable price, loved it so much we went back again, the seafood pasta is a must! definitely will visit again when back to Milan.

We stumbled upon Andry (thanks to Yelp and Google!) bc we were in central Milano, our DS was hangry!, and not many restaurants were open around the time (22:00) that served pasta... At first, Andry came off as a tad pricey. However, after we tried their food, esp the Spaghettino, we were pretty blown away. The pasta was PERFECTLY cooked, but it was the sauce that was so exquisite. Think rich Pomodoro (tomato-based) sauce, but not overpoweringly rich, combined with basil and parmesan. Wow! Definitely one of the best pasta's we had in Italy. So simple, yet so intricate and tasty. Thanks for rescuing our DS and, once again, showing us how pasta SHOULD be made! *And BIG THANKS for FEATURING my PHOTO! :D* We will definitely be back the next time we're in Milano. Grazie Mille!!

    Risotto Andry with raw prawn

It was so bad I'd give it a zero, but I can't so I give it a 1. Horrible, unprofessional establishment--unsafe and disgusting food. I arrived as a party of 2 and requested a table. I spoke in Italian despite not being fluent, as I have done for the past 3 weeks in Italy. I spoke to the young lady at the hostess stand--as I assumed she was the host. She stared at me blankly. Then the soon to be server arrives and I repeat it. He harshly corrects me and says a few things I didn't catch. I was a bit stunned just from the harshness. The young lady laughed at me. We are seated, and I try to process whether the words were harsh or rude. I should have left in that moment. We order risotto. The reviews mentioned risotto, so we wanted to try it. It was terrible. We were served raw prawns (grey, fleshy, and cold). The risotto came out in 5-10 minutes. From my understanding, a prawn takes 7-8 minutes to cook and risotto closer to 30 minutes. We received our food before any of the guests that were already seated. The server, who I would describe as creepy at this point, comes up and asks how the food is and waits there very long after given a response. This is before we knew the prawn was clearly undercooked. We tried to leave as fast as possible, given we genuinely believed this establishment was attempting to do us harm. It was horrible. The server came past me TWICE and awkwardly patted me on the back (which I did not feel comfortable with) and said "are you alright" (in English) which was weird. He knew there was a major issue. The other staff kept smirking/sneering at us. Our server spoke in English to us. The horrible risotto, environment, and service made us leave before we could order more courses. We were clearly being rushed out. And I was extremely uncomfortable. At the end of the meal I walked outside and my companion paid. Genuinely wanting to know, they asked the server (in very simple words) if we had done something wrong to offend him or the restaurant when we walked in. He suddenly knew not a single word of English. The other man working, (presumably the owner and father of laughing little girl), who had topped off our drinks and said "drink up" (in English) also suddenly knew not a single word of English. Oh and when the server awkwardly stood at our table before we realized the food was horrible, I tried to get him away from me as fast as I could, by saying "molto bene." It was clear the staff and group sitting at a table with the presumable manager were mocking us. When I walked out and around the corner to smoke, a food runner walked passed and saw me and said "molto bene" (mocking me). This is the worst service I have ever received in my life. And the most repulsive food. And creepy staff. And induced extreme discomfort. The discomfort and confusion prevented me from walking out, but I wish I would have. I will be refuting the charge with my bank, given I received raw, fleshy prawns. I'd like to say one thing to the establishment: VAFFANCULO. And I hope you lose business. Learn basic manners. Practice food safety. And tell the little girl to move away from the hostess stand.

I was sooooo pleased with this restaurant. It was highly recommended by a gentleman working at the hotel I was staying. I wanted something a little off the beaten path since my last experience in Milan was disappointing. The staff was wonderful and the food was incredibly tasty. Although I didn't drink wine, the selection was amazing. I had some polipo salad and a bowl of caccio e Pepe....wooow - just wow! Can't wait to go here next time I'm in Milan.

This is well worth the visit if you are looking for a great price seafood restaurant. Very friendly English speaking and English menu. Will go back again before we leave Milan

A quaint Pizzeria specialising in sea food in a quiet street. This gem of a ristorante was recommended to us by our hotel. While we did not have any seafood dishes, the food we had was great. Prices were reasonable to with mains costing €10 to €15. Staff were polite and helpful. Speaking English was no drama either. An enjoyable evening.

The best of a night at several bars on the Navigli. Read my profile and my reviews, you'll find…read morethat I am a pretty experienced booze hound. Pinch is a total replica of American hipster craft cocktail bars, in Milan. The bartenders wear suspenders and do tricks with shakers. I'm waiting for an ironic mustache, preferably like the Moretti guy has. The drinks are exceptional. When I was there, they had one made of green tomatoes and mountain pine liqueur that was a taste party in my mouth. The aperitivo snacks are also really excellent, a small tray of various interesting crunchy things. No potato chips -- we're talking samosas in wonton wrappers with sweet chili sauce, Indian curry rice, a ham-arugula roll, and baba ghanoush. My second drink didn't quite match the first, but it was close. Also, the only bar in Milan that gave me *zero* grief about wanting a simple glass of tap water. In fact, they just give you one. Mega bonus points for that. I'm sick of paying for "aqua panna Toscana" that I neither need nor want. Been drinking Milan tap water in my hotel room for four days now. It's fine. Pour it on. Food offerings from the regular menu are a little hit or miss, but on the other hand, I had kind of stuffed myself with aperitivo. Had I been hungry, might've been a different story.

Pinch is a new bar right in Ripa di Porta Ticinese, not in the pedestrian part of the Naviglio, which means they don't have outside seating - except for the tables at the windows. It has a retro vibe, as if you entered a 1920s bar, dim lights, soft 1920's music; elegant but not ostentatious atmosphere. The cocktails list has about 15 signature cocktails, all with an explanation of the alcoholic level (medium or high), taste (fresh, spicy, bitter, etc.) and of course the ingredients, classic cocktails with a twist, made extremely well, with good ingredients. They also have a food menu but I didn't check it out since we were there for the aperitivo - which then turned into after-dinner drinks. I had the "South of the Border" with tequila, chartreuse vert, lime juice, sugar syrup and fresh mint, it was fresh and delicious, then I had another one and another one... just to be sure they were made perfectly ;) For the aperitivo, our cocktails were 8 euro each and the waiter (who looked like Robert Pattinson) brough a small tray with some snacks: rice and salad in small glasses, chips, mini-sandwiches and a couple of vol-au-vents - not enough to fill our stomachs completely but also not the average greasy aperitivo food. Nice staff, a full bar with quality bottles and clean bathrooms complete the experience. Too bad it's far from my house, but worth the subway trip back!

To start, my friend and I tried the red mullet with chestnut creme and the spicy duck with pumpkin fritter. Both dishes were delicious but I especially liked the duck. The depth of flavor in both the tender meat and the fritters made for an auspicious start to the meal. We followed up by splitting the Spaghettoni "Benedetto Cavalieri". I can tell why it never leaves the menu. So simple, but perfectly executed. Finally, the pork belly. The star of this dish was the celeriac cream. So refreshing next to the heavy pork belly. The food was great but what really stood out was how nice everyone was! The service in the well-appointed dining room was top notch with wine advice and care to describe each ingredient, but the folks at Belè went even above this. In a careless error, I left my phone at the restaurant and it was too late to retrieve it before an early flight the next afternoon. The restaurant helped me get it shipped back and stayed in contact to make sure I received it. Go for the food, stay for the wonderful people, and check for your phone before you leave!

The menu may be seasonal. I loved the first app of pears and leeks. I loved my taglioni with truffle. My partner enjoyed his goat cheese risotto. For our entrees, we both thought the duck and the steak were phenomenal. I would definitely come back here again in the future if I find myself in Milan again.

Be ready when the waitress comes because this spot can be quite busy and they have a lot of ground to cover. Semi-pro tip: Whatever the question asked, the correct answer is "Si!" (this worked for me!) The salami and cheese appetizer was wonderful, with at least four kinds of sliced, flavorful preserved meat and wonderful cheeses including handmade, fresh mozzarella. In fact, when you add on the huge, free basket of focaccia and other types of bread, the appetizer alone is enough for four people. As for pizza, the dish here is not the thin and crispy style available elsewhere in Milan. Instead, it is a huge pillowy slice with whatever toppings you select. The small slice is massive and cannot easily be consumed unless you are very hungry. Alternatively, you can take as much time as you need since, in common Italian fashion, there is no rush. Savor and enjoy. Finally, for the ultimate in taste and texture, try the gnocchi with four cheeses. It's creamy, cheesy goodness with a slight pungent bite of Gorgonzola mixed in. This definitely blows away every Mac and Cheese on the entire planet. Bam. Done! Winner!!!

We wanted to take our guests to the Navigli district to show them the river, have a great meal and experience the nightlife after the sun went down. I emailed several restaurants along the Navigli a few days before to ask if they would be able to accommodate 28 people. For one reason or another, I couldn't get anyone to take us! But Mattia Bilotta at the Asso Di Fiori - Osteria dei Formaggi emailed me back right away and was happy to have us. He asked that we pick a few antipasti, a few primi Piatti, a few secondi piati and a few desserts so that they could be ready in advance. When we got off the subway, there was a lot of graffiti on the walls of the buildings and I was worried that I was in a bad part of town as we walked up to the restaurant. But once we reached the river from the subway, I felt better about it. And when I entered the restaurant to let them know that we were here, there was a huge stuffed cow in the middle of the dining room! I knew the kids would LOVE that, but I was not prepared for how much the adults would love it. Once we were seated, Mr. Bilotta brought out a small black board with the meals we agreed on in advance written on the menu. He also allowed us to order the specials of the day, which were written on a big black board on one wall of the restaurant. This meal was everyone's favorite of the trip, by far. Every dish that came out was more incredible than the last. Each person ordered what they wanted, but when the food came out, it was so delicious they were compelled to pass their dishes to people sitting around them saying, "you HAVE to try this!!" We sat and laughed and ate for hours. Some people even ordered more entrées after they were done because the food was so good! Visited June 2013
