I talked with John over the phone and met with him to discuss design and the timeframe I was trying to hit. The end quality of the piece was beyond what I had in mind and both myself and my girlfriend (in the end whose opinion matters) were very impressed. Beyond technical merit, I believe the appeal of the shop lies in John's passion for design and customer satisfaction. I never felt hurried and rushed to leave. He was more than happy to talk about the finer nuances of the business and educate me on some of my misgivings (I would not consider myself a sophisticated buyer of jewelry or gemstones). John tries to be a full service jeweler. He does repairs in addition to crafting unique pieces. He's been a professional goldsmith for more than 30 years as well as being a platinum specialist. John is a diamond broker as well and has quite a collection of unusual/fine gemstones. Being a graduate gemologist he showed me various stones I've never seen or even heard of. They were VERY VERY PUSHY in getting me to sell the items.
