I learned online AND called to verify that if I come here, I can get an item appraised, and everything was confirmed that yes, I could. When I came to the store, a woman was helping me behind the counter and was basically just weighing the silver. I'm not sure how this works, I am not knowledgeable in this area, but I thought that an antique set of something is likely to be valued beyond its raw metal weight. Such as a silver coin vs antique silver jewelry vs flatware. The item itself surely impacts value other than just the weight of silver? The rarity of an item, for example, would surely impact its value, right? I don't know, but they only seemed interested in weighing the items. They were VERY VERY PUSHY in getting me to sell the items. I just wanted to start with value and had to repeat myself over and over and over, this is the first time I'm looking into this, and I'm just interested in learning the value right now. It's like they did NOT listen to the words I said at all, which is extremely frustrating. Eventually, some older man joined in the conversation, and he was one of the rudest, most aggressive people. He didn't even come over to SEE what I had yet, and was already accusing me of "not believing him" for what he was going to give me as an estimated value (in the future). How could I not "believe" something I hadn't yet been told??? He gave me a price, and then when I said, for the 4th time, I wasn't selling and was in the early stages of understanding a value, he repeated back to me multiple times, "You'll be back to sell it to me". No, you don't know what I'll be doing, and you clearly are refusing to listen to what I am telling you. I also had some coins, and same thing, they just weighed the sliver. No interest in how rare they are or anything else. He was sure to point out damage on ONE but used the same valuation for both coins that were the same. So, if only one is damaged, why wouldn't the other be worth more? I don't know, this seemed off to me. Then, to be extra rude and careless, after they removed my very neatly stacked items in a very nice carrier, they just threw everything, unorganized and piled on top of each other, messily, back into the carrier. How are you in this line of work and don't understand how to treat other people's property? The way it came to you should be the same way it's returned. So, I sat and rearranged my items back in place since they clearly were not going to do so or have any respect for me or my property. I will not sell to this rude man, even if I did decide to sell it. I walked out feeling dirty and mistreated. read more

I stopped in with my young daughter to ask about repairing a gifted vintage watch as a surprise for my husband. I know nothing about watches, which is exactly why I went to a professional. When I asked whether it might be possible to complete the repair within a week, the staff laughed in my face. They did not examine the watch, ask what it needed, or simply explain that my requested timeline might be unrealistic. They just made me feel foolish for asking. What bothered me most was that my daughter witnessed the entire interaction. There was no reason to treat someone so dismissively for asking a genuine question outside their area of expertise. A knowledgeable professional should be willing to educate customers or, at the very least, treat them with basic kindness and respect. The complete lack of courtesy, combined with an unmistakable air of superiority, was honestly disgusting. There is nothing classy or impressive about using your expertise to make another person feel beneath you. I went to another shop just down the road, where I was treated kindly. They examined the watch, explained what it needed, and said it could be repaired by Friday. Expertise means very little when it is accompanied by arrogance and rudeness. We found some silver serving sets and coins so we took 3 boxes of stuff down to David Ellis Cherry Creek. We were lucky to find an open parking spot in front of the store, which was good for my elderly mom as well as my back for toating in the boxes. Max greeted us right when we walked in the door and let us know we were safe while he was on duty. The staff began going thru all the silver serving sets we brought in, setting aside those items they deemed as having a market value. Nothing left our sight. We had lots of coins and the staff separated out valuable coins with silver vs coins we should just take to the bank and put back into circulation. After about an hour, they totaled up an itemized value of what they would pay my mom and offered me the calculator to check their figures. My mom was very happy with the offer and accepted. They wrote out a check, which my mom deposited later in the day. I would refer anyone to this establishment for great service and what would consider as fair value and honesty when it comes to helping and elderly parent turn coin collections and wedding gifts from years gone by into cash. He treated her like crap in front of me and said to her " well now we're not gonna make money on that person on the phone, we're not going to make money off of this guy (referring to me), the next person you better double the price to make up for it." I recently took my rings that I had them upsize for me to a different jeweler because I wasn't happy with the way the ring was done and the new jeweler told me the there was a chip in the main diamonds and the several prongs were broken and 3-6 diamond were fake. I had the most disturbing experience today, and I will never return to this jeweler. My mother and I brought several silver serving pieces and some jewelry to sell. They advertise all types of silver welcome. We made an appointment. A man in a back room with an aggressive German Shepherd kept snapping orders at the gentleman helping us. He said, "No silver plated!" They would only buy a few jewelry items for $25 total, and they turned away thousands of dollars worth of beautiful pieces. As we were completing the paperwork, the man in the back room started shouting obscenities at our helper and chastised him violently for spending 40 minutes with us for twenty-five f***ing dollars.
