The tasting room was bright and modern and the cider experts that led the tasting were knowledgeable and friendly! They made what could have be mundane, fun! I came on a sunny day and sat on the patio! I had a view of the lawn and the vines! This made Nashi accessible to families with littles and pets! This has to be a stop on your Vashon Island day or weekend trip! I also love that it is a locally owned and operated business!

You have to call ahead and make an appointment to get a wine tasting in. So be sure and do that. The winery makes virtually all red wine. Unfortunately I can no longer have red wine due to migraines but I was in for some more of that great cider! I had two glasses of it. Do refreshing and crisp! The gentleman that was conducting the wine tasting was incredibly knowledgeable about all the wine that was presented and you could tell that he had a real love for what he was doing. The wines that were featured could be bought by the bottle if you wanted. There is a downstairs from the tasting room with a wine shop where there are other selections in addition to the wines that are being featured for the tasting. The tasting room is fun, relaxing... some might call it retro but it has a delightful charm to it which makes it very unique and there is a little dog that will greet you as well which is precious. The gentleman that was running the wine tasting said that each tasting usually features different wines so right then and there is a reason to go back. The wines that we tasted were of an excellent quality and from all over the world. Black Door Wine Company is definitely a place to try if you love wine!

You can tell Matt is passionate about the wines this place carries. He was very confident about each wine as he would introduce each pour (I did a wine tasting, including five different wines) I prefer red wine over white and usually more on the sweet side; to be exact- I do love Lambrusco wine.
