Even though I knew I would be tasting the same wines I had at Seattle Cellars, I dragged my +1 down to Georgetown to taste them again. Every wine was spectacular on its own! Even my boyfriend who insists that wine exists to complement food was impressed. My two favorites were the 2007 Exhibition and 2007 Artz, which were blends, heavy on the Cab Franc, my favorite grape. I definitely recommend Lord Lion for a tasting or a glass - or two!

Tried to visit this winery using our Woodinville wine passport, but they were never open! Spoke with other people who had the passports and they experienced the same problem. If you are going to be on the Wine Passport you should really be open during your posted hours. I have joined many wine clubs by visiting wineries using the passport. Sad that I didn't get to try this place.

As you arrive, you're greeted with a glass of wine and a few appetizers. The stuffed grape leaves with fig and Gorgonzola cheese were spectacular! Really packed with flavor in a few bites. The event is hosted by the owner, where she guides the group to the vines and gives a history of the vineyard and such. As we move through the vineyard, we heard from our chef and where all our food was sourced, and how it was prepared. We are then guided to a large table with fresh bread and butter as the next several courses are served. The cedar planked salmon with strawberry balsamic chutney was the highlight of the meal. The salmon was tender and moist, and strawberry atop was the best flavor combination. Each pairing of wine throughout the evening was perfect, everything went well with each dish. The best was the specially served 2016 Semillon Ice Wine Wahluke Slope! Literally the best tasting wine I've ever had, light but packed with flavor. To wrap up our dinner experience we were served a rhubarb crisp and could purchase wine to take home. My husband and I took home two bottles: 2024 Pinot Gris from Yakima Valley which we were served. I wanted a bottle of all 6 that I tried here. You can taste the fruit in the dry wines instead of the tannins smothering them- even when the tannins were chewy. The wine has complexity enough for people like me that like to play at guessing all the flavors. Service checked on me multiple times and had a good vibe and made good suggestions based upon my preferences. The ambiance needs work because I prefer well-padded seating at wine bars and to enjoy the mountain view in Snoqualmie I had to sit by the packed up wine club boxes. I had a flight with the Blanc de Blanc, SMG and Charlee. All three were excellent examples of flavorful, but dry. None of them tasted like dirt! I was so pleased that I got a second flight of the Rose Brut, Chardonnay (dry caramel was my first note) and Vintner's Blend. All were lovely and flavorful, but not exactly textbook. I placed an order, didn't hear a word so decided to send an email to follow up, I was worried about shipping wines during the hot summer months so I just wanted to check on the status, monitor the tracking, etc. it might be particular but for a wine of that price I want to make sure it's taken care of properly. I ended up writing multiple times to no response at all so I canceled my order. I did receive a vague "order canceled" email and now a week later my card has not been credited that amount back yet. For the prices you're charging, you can afford a sales rep to deal with customer interface it would greatly smooth out your transactions and perception in the public eye.

It was difficult to find, so we called. Charlie gave us directions. When we arrived he was on his lawn mower mowing the lawn. We wondered what this experience may bring. He invited us into his 'barrel' wine tasting room which is under construction. Charlie was great! He let us taste variety of different wines. He took the time to explain the history of his own wine making, and even let us taste out of a barrel that was not finished yet. He also suggested some other wineries and distilleries to visit that were nearby. This was, by far, the best wine tasting experience we have ever had and look forward to visiting him again next spring.
