If you find yourself in the Sevier County area on vacation and your car overheats climbing a…read moremountain road like mine did, Alex is the person to call. Earlier this month as I was on my way to a large family gathering at a cabin retreat, my car died just as I topped a very long, very steep portion of road. It was clear it was overheated, so with help of family we pushed it to the side and waited to see if it would be cool enough to start the next morning. Unfortunately it would not start. Instead of calling Triple A to get my car towed, I found the Yelp reviews for Automotive Antidote. Because of the steepness and narrowness of the road, I thought it was worth a shot to have someone come to me instead of trying to tow the car back down. Turned out to be a godsend. Alex was quickly responsive by phone, told me exactly how long it would be until he could arrive (fortunately for me less than one hour) and he stayed with my car all day long until he got the job done, having Auto Zone run out parts to him after he had broken down the car's fan components. He kept me informed by telephone all day long as I went out and about in Pigeon Forge on our planned vacation activities. He was very meticulous about his bid, going over it with me before he started and made sure to give me the warranty from Auto Zone for the parts, which he does not mark up. Took my bank card right there by Square on his phone, on top of a remote mountain. And to top it off, as he got my car working again but there was still one part that would not work, he wrote down what I needed to tell my regular mechanic when I got home and advised not to try to finish the trek up the mountain. Instead I followed him down into Pigeon Forge to Auto Zone where he asked them if I could leave my car there until after the weekend. They did not mind and it sat safe there for two more days. If there is a way to have a pleasant and almost enjoyable experience repairing your car when it breaks down while out of town, this would be it. THANKS AGAIN, ALEX and thanks to the earlier Yelp reviewers!

I called Alex and within 10 mins we met up and within another 10 mins he'd tested everything and showed me all my results - it was only the battery Another 30 mins or so and I'm on my way with a new battery and hood struts (he encouraged me to change them so the hood would remain open, something that'd bugged me for a couple years now - he even thru in that labor for free!) Definitely recommend if you need to be up in a hurry and want to work with an honest mechanic. THANKS ALEX!!!!!!

Seeing that they were open until 10:00pm, I was able to carefully drive to their facility. They said they would look at my car first thing in the morning. I couldn't believe they would be open and working on Memorial day. I rented one of their autos and made it back to the hotel. I returned the next morning and they already had started working on what might be wrong. Dennis, the lead mechanic was wonderful to work with. Dennis said enjoy Pigeon Forge and we will call you as soon as we know what the problem was. At10:00 am I got a call that it was what I thought it was the transmission. I was given several options and they went above and beyond. In fact they found a transmission near by and gave a check to an employee who lived near the supply business to pick up the transmission on his way to work. Again this is Memorial Day and as we enjoyed our day in Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg as they removed the transmission in preparation to install first thing Tuesday. We again enjoyed the next day and got a call from Dennis at 1:00pm that our car was. They went over everything and kept me informed every step of the way. We didn't loose a day and even though we thought we were gonna be stranded way past the holiday weekend, this company went above and beyond to make sure everything worked into our schedule. I highly recommend them!!!!!

We went to an AutoZone who recommended them but there were no guarantees it would get done that day since it was a Sunday and they were the only place open. They are located at the end of a neighborhood and were servicing 4-5 customers before us, but they were able to get to it that day. Turns out, it was a rats nest in my friends car and they were chewing on various connectors that were causing misfires. While it was such a random occurrence and a bad situation, this mechanic was very friendly and quoted extremely fair prices to resolve her issues. The prices were much fairer than anything I've seen in my own mechanic, and they work very quickly. They were able to clear out the nest that same day and are just waiting to get some parts when the dealership opens today. Overall, great service!!

I was vacationing in Gatlingburg and Monday April 27,2026 late in the afternoon, I was in the Cove…read moreand my car's engine light came on and my dashboard was showing traction off and reduced power. I made it out of the Cove and stopped in Townsend trying to decide what I needed to do. I finally decided to try to make it back to Gatlingburg which I did. On Tuesday morning I got up and drove to Pigeon Forge and had a diagnostic done at O'Reilly which showed it was Coil F which means Coil 6. I then decided to get a second reading so went to Auto Zone and they got the same reading. A guy there then recommended and gave me a card for Carr's. In the mean time I had called my local mechanic from 3 hrs away and sent him the readings from both places which was identical. It said it sounded like he was probably mis firing which the guy at Auto Zone had also said. He advised me to try to get it fixed even though he was worried that some one would take advantage of me since I was a woman alone and from out of town. I called Carr's to see if they couldn't could help me. They said yes, but they probably wouldn't be able to get it done That afternoon, it would probably be the next day. I took my car there arriving approx 2:00 pm April 28th. I was astounded by one of the wrecker guy that was at the front was mouthing about how sorry one of their competitor wreckers were and how slow they were. I didn't like that. It was so unprofessional. The girl at the front desk took my info and even took us to get a rental car. She was very nice. After getting the rental we headed for the mountains thinking it would be the next day before we head from them. We were at this point without phone service. When we got phone service it was 5:05pm and I saw we had received a voice mail at 3:11 pm that the car was ready. I was shocked. Needless to say they were closed until 8:00 am the next Morning April 28th. At 8:05 I called to make sure the car was ready and it was. I went to pick it up and even though I was shocked at the high cost I paid and we left. We trustingly thought everything would be fine. We went towards the mountains again and drove only 20 to 25 miles and the same diagnostics appeared again. I was so frustrated and got to thinking that wait a minute!! They charged me for three hours labor and it was only an hour and 15 minute between the time is left my car and the time they called me back. There was no way they worked on it 3 hours. Plus they had charged me $130 for a a coil that cost $109. I called to tell them my car was not fixed and it had the same diagnostic they claimed to have fixed. That they had stolen from me once but they would not get another chance to. They made no comment. My ticket they gave me showed they had put a number 6 coil on. I just took it easy and made it back home to my mechanic. He checked everything out and They had not put a #6 coil on. They had moved the #2 and put a Coil on the #4. He said what they did could have been done in 5 minutes. Why the even messed with the #2 & #4 we do not know. Please don't trust you vehicle or money to these crooks. They are unreliable. My car is now fixed correctly and running perfect at a cost of little more than a $100.
