Late last night two ladies and…read moretheir kids were knocking on our door - their car was stuck on the drop off to our drive and they needed help. My nephew and I went outside to see how bad they were stuck. It was high-centered with the passenger side drive tire off of the ground...so we were not pushing them out. Opened Google maps and tried calling some different tow companies that came up in a search. A lot were not 24hrs and some didn't service the remote area we were in. It was close to 11pm, but we were able to get a hold of Tommy. I've been in law enforcement for 19yrs, seen a lot of crashes and after a few questions from Tommy, I knew that he knew what he was doing. Told the lady to cancel the shady no-name guy she had on her phone. Tommy got here quickly (as quick as you can with a big roll back on tiny mountain roads). He was professional and knew how to take extra steps to get the car free without just yanking it out and doing extra damage. Only took about 10-15min after the winch and snatch block was set up. Got her car out with no additional damage that she hadn't done. He charged her a fair price and did not gouge her as he could have (it was late and they were lost and desperate). He even had them follow him out to the main road so they could use their GPS to get back to their cabin (over 9 miles away/off course). We went to an AutoZone who recommended them but there were no guarantees it would get done that day since it was a Sunday and they were the only place open. They are located at the end of a neighborhood and were servicing 4-5 customers before us, but they were able to get to it that day. Turns out, it was a rats nest in my friends car and they were chewing on various connectors that were causing misfires. While it was such a random occurrence and a bad situation, this mechanic was very friendly and quoted extremely fair prices to resolve her issues. The prices were much fairer than anything I've seen in my own mechanic, and they work very quickly. They were able to clear out the nest that same day and are just waiting to get some parts when the dealership opens today. Overall, great service!!

I made it out of the Cove and stopped in Townsend trying to decide what I needed to do. I finally decided to try to make it back to Gatlingburg which I did. On Tuesday morning I got up and drove to Pigeon Forge and had a diagnostic done at O'Reilly which showed it was Coil F which means Coil 6. I then decided to get a second reading so went to Auto Zone and they got the same reading. A guy there then recommended and gave me a card for Carr's. In the mean time I had called my local mechanic from 3 hrs away and sent him the readings from both places which was identical. It said it sounded like he was probably mis firing which the guy at Auto Zone had also said. He advised me to try to get it fixed even though he was worried that some one would take advantage of me since I was a woman alone and from out of town. I called Carr's to see if they couldn't could help me. They said yes, but they probably wouldn't be able to get it done That afternoon, it would probably be the next day. I took my car there arriving approx 2:00 pm April 28th. I was astounded by one of the wrecker guy that was at the front was mouthing about how sorry one of their competitor wreckers were and how slow they were. I didn't like that. It was so unprofessional. The girl at the front desk took my info and even took us to get a rental car. She was very nice. After getting the rental we headed for the mountains thinking it would be the next day before we head from them. We were at this point without phone service. When we got phone service it was 5:05pm and I saw we had received a voice mail at 3:11 pm that the car was ready. I was shocked. Needless to say they were closed until 8:00 am the next Morning April 28th. At 8:05 I called to make sure the car was ready and it was. I went to pick it up and even though I was shocked at the high cost I paid and we left. We trustingly thought everything would be fine. We went towards the mountains again and drove only 20 to 25 miles and the same diagnostics appeared again. I was so frustrated and got to thinking that wait a minute!! They charged me for three hours labor and it was only an hour and 15 minute between the time is left my car and the time they called me back. There was no way they worked on it 3 hours. Plus they had charged me $130 for a a coil that cost $109. I called to tell them my car was not fixed and it had the same diagnostic they claimed to have fixed. That they had stolen from me once but they would not get another chance to. They made no comment. My ticket they gave me showed they had put a number 6 coil on. I just took it easy and made it back home to my mechanic. He checked everything out and They had not put a #6 coil on. They had moved the #2 and put a Coil on the #4. He said what they did could have been done in 5 minutes. Why the even messed with the #2 & #4 we do not know. Please don't trust you vehicle or money to these crooks. They are unreliable. My car is now fixed correctly and running perfect at a cost of little more than a $100.

My experience with Stooksbury's Towing and specifically, the specialist/driver, Joey, was…read moreexceptional. What I thought was going to simply fix a flat tire became a bit more complicated. Once Joey arrived, we discovered that my Kia Forte required a key for the lug nuts to be removed. Unfortunately,I was never given a lug nut key when I leased the car. Then we discovered that the flat tire was caused by a 3-inch piece of metal. So I would need a new tire. Well by now, it was 11pm at night and Joey suggested that he could tow my car to a Firestone Tire store in Sevierville, drop off my key overnight so it could be looked at when the store opened at 7am. The catch was Joey had to first tow another person's car to Knoxville (a hour away) and then back to my hotel in Gatlinburg. He shared with me he's very respected, reliable and assured me that he would come back and tow my car. He kept his word. Around 1:15 am he texted me that he was back and going to tow my Kia. At 7:15am, I was on the phone with Gordon at Firestone Tire and while there were other customers ahead of me, they could assess the situation around 8:30/9am. And at 9:30am, Gordon called & informed they were able to bust the lug nuts, put on a new tire and my car was ready to be picked up. Joey was friendly, reassuring and together strategized their best options and ultimately, I chose to trust him. And WOW did he deliver!! Stooksbury is lucky to have him. And Gordon at Firestone Tire in Seiverville was patient and professional as he answered all my questions and helped me get back to Nashville for an event at 6pm. While it was bit a of a hiccup in my Smoky Mountains bliss, these guys made it all OK!! Grateful and appreciative for Joey, Spooksbury and Firestone Tire. Thank you.

The man has no integrity whatsoever: he was hired to take the vehicle, and cover up for the owner of Ole Ben Franklin Motors Josh Pool. They sold us a vehicle that was never going to pass inspection in Pennsylvania being EPA deleted. Having registered 7 times in the last six months. Coincidentally; Reliable was the recovery service each time. When we could prove this legally, we were sent a text: We will see you soon. That morning at 1:38am the recovery agent Trespassed and destroyed two electrical poles with Transformers. $15,000 per transformer $30,000 per pole, and to boot now the cops won't even give us his insurance info for our Lawyer to sue. Do not trust these people. This is Dirty business anyway; you look at it! We are suing all parties involved and body cam footage is our proof.
