I warned the staff of this ahead of time and I feel like they went the extra mile to keep me comfortable. Not only did they offer a sedative to calm my nerves but they talked me through the process, reassured me everything was going great, told me I was doing awesome, offered to let me hold their hand, gave me something to squeeze onto...Seriously amazing patient care! Dr. King was friendly, professional, and extremely focused during the procedure while his staff kept me calm. The procedure itself sucks, not going to lie. But it is so fast, it's worth it. The recovery also had it's difficult moments. There's an hour or so chunk of time when I woke up from my nap extremely uncomfortable thinking I made a mistake. I bawled my eyes out but fell back asleep and woke up feeling good as new a few hours later. As for my vision, it's amazing! If you follow the aftercare instructions you shouldn't have a problem at all. When they say this is life changing, they mean it. It's purely magical. Thank you! Oh and they have free chapstick in the waiting room which was nice because I love chapstick

From the initial online consultation to the 2 hour in person consultation and day of every staff member was amazing. I appreciate Dr. Deal's frankness when we discussed I had a prism in my most recent rx, she was not shy about telling me if that correction was necessary, the Lasik procedure would not get me where I wanted to be. She didn't badmouth my Dr. she acknowledged it may have been a short term need and helped me get an updated rx without to wear for several weeks before surgery to make SURE I would get the results I wanted. I am a very anxious person, never wore contacts and eye drops were a challenge, I don't like things touching my eyes. The entire team was supportive and calming. Procedure nurse Amanda talked me through the process. Dr. King was a little more tough love (probably because i needed a little) but a professional who moved through the process efficiently with skill. I didn't feel rushed but also know they wasted no time when they knew I was struggling. In all honesty, it was way less than I had imagined. I truly am in awe of the change in my vision and so blessed to have had this team help me get here. I have been wearing glasses for 20 years and I was 20/15 at my 1st check up at 18 hours post procedure! There is a lot to know about the options and possible results. Hands down, this is the team to walk you through it all!

I was seen at The Vancouver Eye Care clinic by Dr. Sayge M. Heintzelman for swelling of my left…read moreeye. I explained to her that it has been two weeks since the swelling started and it has not gotten better. She looked at my eye and explained I have some clogged oil glands and recommended that I apply warm compresses and prescribed me an antibiotic due to possible infection. We discussed other options such as "topical drops" or draining the oil glands if my eye got worse. Two days later the swelling in my worsen towards evening time, so the next day I called to make an appointment to see a doctor. This time I was seen by Dr. Shauyene Hsieh. She walked into the exam room and asked me to explain what was going on, so I explained to her what was going on with my eye. She looked at both my eyes and said she is going to order me allergy drops, after I had already explained to her that I have been using allergy drops, warm compresses, and been on antibiotics for the last 2 weeks. I asked her if she can order me "topical antibiotic drops" she proceeded to laugh at me and said "topical" and antibiotic drops drops are the same thing. I felt humiliated, not only was this doctor not listening to a word I was saying but she was now laughing at me. I felt as if my medical needs were not being addressed and I was being rushed out. I explained to her that Dr. Heintzelman said that if my eye got worse that we can look at other options such as Topical drops. She snapped back at me and said it was not included in her notes and continued to ignore what I was saying. At this point my husband could see that I was getting frustrated so he asked her about steroid shot to drain the capped oil glands. She was very short with him and asked him if she should repeat the treatment plan which we just went over. It's expensive to see a Specialist. If I could have avoided seeing one I would have, but since I was in pain I had to come in twice in one week. There should never be a reason why a patient who is paying to see a provider be treated in such manner as I was. A patient should not feel afraid to ask questions because they are afraid the Provider might get upset with you or laugh at you for not using the correct medical terminology. Dr. Shauyene Hsieh was unprofessional, rude, and uncompassionate. She was slamming things down as we were leaving the room. No one should be treated the way I was by Dr Hsieh. It was unethical, and absolutely unacceptable. I walked out of the appointment feeling humiliated and without answers.

I waited almost 1 hr. to be seen. The assistant asked the same questions and did not read my form. My handwriting is not great, but it is legible. I read my form to her. She kept checking her watch and was impatient. She was unfriendly. I told the Dr I did not feel comfortable with her exam. He did a quick exam. He said he needed to order trial contacts. I asked what if the vision was off. He said he would order other contacts. He said he would not be in this office for the fitting and advised he would send the contacts DT and to set up appointment. My eyes where dilated when I left, and no protection was offered or address. Next appointment I waited 35 minutes. I was told they did not have the contacts and to go back to the original office. They said a Dr had an opening for the next hour and could get me right in. I rushed through my errands. I arrived there about 40 minutes later and stated I was there for my fitting. She found the contacts and said I was to take them. I said I was to see the Dr. She stated I was to comeback after wearing them for 2 weeks and then set up another appointment to see the Dr. At this point with the series of error, the wait times, the rushed exam, the lack of internal communication with each other and the patient, I said I was done. I arrived home and I received a text stating I had another appointment in the next 45 minutes. I did not set this up and I was not going back there for the 3rd time in a day and for them to not know what was going on. I called and left a voice message stating I would not be at that appointment, and I would not be coming back again. I will go somewhere else.

Anyway, let's focus on the wonderful Evergreen Eye Care. Dr. Zamberlan and her staff are consummate professionals. I haven't had such a modern, comprehensive exam in a long time. The staff are so welcoming, from making my appointment to my first visit. Unlike a lot of medical offices, the waiting room is not crowded and Dr. Z. takes her time sharing her knowledge with her patients. I truly felt valued and am so happy to have found my "forever" eye care practice. Sandy was the assistant at my visit...so friendly and knowledgeable. Nicole helped me select 2 frames (which are very reasonably priced) plus new reading lenses and offered me their current discounts. They have such a nice selection and I've never chosen glasses so quickly! I cannot think of any suggestions to make other than to ask that you please continue to do what you are doing. Evergreen Eye Care is awesome. *Update: I referred my hub to EEC and asked him about his experience. He said, "I loved it!!" He went on to share how complete his exam was and all the great suggestions Dr. Z. offered. In this era of impersonal, conveyer-belt medicine, Evergreen is the antithesis. We are fans for life!

Everything from the friendliness and professionalism of the…read moreentire staff, to the cleanliness and modern atmosphere, to the amazing technology is the best I've ever experienced. The waiting room features a hot and cold water dispenser, as well as a Keurig coffeemaker with a huge variety of flavors. Chairs are plush and comfortable. I was particularly impressed with the technology in the pre-exam area. There are four machines right in a row. The first is an interactive test for peripheral vision / size of field of view. The second is an automatic test to establish one's baseline eyeglasses prescription, featuring a barn at the end of street on a grassy field to look at as opposed to others I've experienced that have nothing or a blurry circle. The third is an "air puff" glaucoma tester, and the fourth is one that takes photos of one's eyes. The wait to see the eye doctor was very short, and Dr. Hu was extremely professional, polite, and helpful. She was the first eye doctor who was ever able to answer my questions about how to determine which of two lens choices to pick. Here is the conversation: "Which is clearer, 1, or 2"? I said that "1 may look a bit sharper, but the 'O' looks like a square where it looks round on '2'". Her advice to choose the one that is less distorted seems to have made all the difference in the world. The prescription I got was far and away the easiest to adjust to I've ever experienced. They literally required no adjustment period at all. It was instantly perfect. I was also very happy that this exam, despite it having been my first exam in over a decade, didn't require my eyes to be dilated. I'm not sure exactly why this is, but I'm not complaining. If you're a new patient, don't get discouraged by the long wait time before you can get in. The reason that they're booked solid for a few months out is because they are great, and waiting is definitely worth it.
