I I've been a patient of Dr Jung's for a while now and last week I had what I thought was an emergency. I was able to get in for an exam pretty quickly. Upon his examination he said it was not as bad as I thought but he did need to replace an old filling. The staff were awesome. They were able to adjust other appointments and squeeze me in that same week. I always feel like I am in the best hands with Dr Jung and his staff. They are all so very kind, knowledgeable and helpful. I appreciate the care and quality provided by all. My old dentist retired, and I was looking for a new one in the area. On July 12th, I called and spoke with the office manager, Mylene, who came off polite, and asked me for my dental insurance info, which I obliged. I have a nice PPO through Delta Dental at my work, which is above-average coverage. She took initiative and called and figured out my coverage amounts and limits and then called me back, and asked for my social security number. I told her I was not comfortable giving this, and she said, "At some point we're going to need this." I told her flat out, I was not comfortable giving that out, and that I had never done so at any doctor or dentist's office, and that I never would; no medical / dental office anywhere in this country needs it (even though I know they all like to ask), especially when I've provided her my full name / insurance ID number / group number, and I have the finances to pay for the copay. She said that I would need to pay the full amount prior to treatment then, in case the insurance amount doesn't come through, in case I quit my job or cancel my insurance AFTER my insurance provides pre-authorization. I was like what? That makes no sense, what's the point of a pre-authorization? You think I'm going to cut and run a day after I get my treatment, and that Delta Dental is going to go defunct and not give your money? I was so irate and insulted. I told her I wouldn't be going there, and she gave some BS reason about her needing to follow "their rules." (You mean the arbitrary rules YOU make for YOUR practice?) I've never been to any dentist who has been this insistent on getting a social security number. They don't need it to get paid, they want it for collections, and if you're reading this, please do a quick internet search for whether or not doctors and dentists need your social security number. They do not. Don't ever give it out, and if they're this pushy, don't give them your business. Medical and dental offices are huge targets for burglars, and my last dentist (which happens to be just a few blocks away off Atlantic Avenue) literally had a break-in this past year, and a laptop was stolen. Good thing those thieves didn't get my social security number because I know I didn't give my last dentist my number either. Since July 12th, I've visited a different local dentist and a separate endodontist in Long Beach, and given them my patronage of about $2000-3000 worth of services, and I've paid of my copays without giving them my SSN, and I had zero issues. (I'll post reviews as soon as my dental work is complete.) It's absolutely absurd that Dr. Jung's office doesn't want your money unless you're willing to put yourself at risk for identity theft or willing to give them full collateral, including the insurance company's payout portion. I don't care how many other reviews talk about how "nice" Mylene is. I'm not caving in to her demands or giving her a DNA swab, hair sample, or my first-born child just to get my teeth looked at. Do better. No one besides your employer, your financial institutions, or the government should have your social security number. Billion dollar companies have data breaches every day, what makes you think Dr. Jung's little office is going to be able to protect your info from a tweaker walking past the office with a brick? Is Mylene or Dr. Jung going to help you when a Nigerian prince opens up lines of credit with your stolen identity? This place is a hard pass. read more

I discovered this place through a letter from them welcoming me to the neighborhood. When I recently came down with some teeth pain I reached out to them and they exceeded my expectations. They are all so sweet from Milene to Nickie both are very kind and helpful To Dr. Jung being hands on and connecting with you to find out the issues and going about the them the best way. I decided to this dental office due to the remarkable reviews, its close proximity to my location, and because my previous dentist disappointed me in her lack of professionalism. First off, the staff here are no joke--they are the most organized, planned out, and communicative staff for a dental office I have ever interacted with. Prior to my actual visitation, they sent all the paperwork months ahead of time in case I had free time to complete them whenever possible; just to make my check-in faster. They also were great when it comes to calling and confirming my insurance policy and coverage in a timely manner. Finally, they were great at calling a few days before my appointment and giving me a simple reminder. During the actual appointment, they explained everything that they were doing real-time so that I understood the procedures. This shows how, not only they care about your teeth, they also want you to care for your teeth and sometimes that is through knowledge. This was just for a teeth cleaning, so it was a dental hygienist who completed the procedure, but since it was my first visit there and I was a new patient, they told me Dr. Andrew Jung would also like to meet me and introduce himself while at the same time also double-checking my teeth (ex. for cancer or any other unnoticeable dangers). Meeting him, you can tell he has years of experience in oral knowledge, which definitely makes you more comfortable. Lastly, their investment in the most up-to-date technology is beyond anything I have ever seen, especially since I was a new patient, they had an amazing software that took and organized my teeth x-rays that were immediately captured and uploaded where I could see them. Before I met Dr. Jung, I hadn't seen a dentist in more than a decade. Now, I've been visiting Dr. Jung's office for over seven years and it's like visiting friends. Dr. Jung, Mylene, Nikki, Amanda, Thuy (and Debbie, who's retired), they're all fantastic and my teeth are in great shape because of them! I've had dental woes at other clinics and Dr. Jung listens to me when I talk about my experiences. He asks me during procedures how I'm doing and I feel very safe with him. I love to hear "Good morning, Dr. Jung's Dental Office. This is Mylene, I can help you." It's so soothing. I'm not always the best with coming in regularly, but each time I call to schedule an appointment, I receive greetings and her (and sometimes Nikki's) friendly, calming voice. I saw Dr. Jung some time ago, and he seemed like a very nice and professional doctor. The only problem was that he wanted to over treat me. I ended up going to another dentist, who is wonderful, Dr. Troy Ha, USC grad by the way. He told me I needed nothing even close to what Dr. Jung wanted to do, even though I didn't mention that I had been to another dentist before him. Let's just say that I saved a few thousand dollars. Dr. Jung want to do a bridge or veneers on my two front teeth that did not need it. It's been several years and Dr. Ha's treatment has not needed what Dr. Jung recommended, and they a working and look perfectly fine. read more

I'm a huge dental chicken. In fact, historically, I've only gone to the dentist every few years, when my anxiety about my dental health overcomes my anxiety about getting dental work done. Obviously by that point, more intensive dental work is needed, which increases my general dental anxiety. If that sounds familiar to you, fellow dental chickens, I've got some very good news...this is the dental office you've been dreaming about!! I went in for a dental consultation after a few years of avoiding cleanings out of fear, and everyone, I mean every single person I met, was the absolute best. Mylene made scheduling an appointment and working with my insurance absolutely frictionless. My dental hygienist was incredibly gentle, kind, and effective. Dr. Jung and his dental assistant were just as warm, gentle, and understanding as everyone else. I had absolutely zero pain through all of my work because of how careful they all were. The new technology they use for their dentistry makes dental work much more comfortable. The chemistry between the staff make you feel like you're among friends. I've been going to Dr. Jung's office for years! The office is helmed by Mylene (hope I'm spelling it correct) with a warm motherly presence. I love her gentle reminders and, funny enough, all the encouragement in my personal life. Nikki is also another gem that has helped Dr. Jung perform wonders with my teeth. I've had my fillings changed to white and done many subtle cosmetic enhancements over the years and absolutely LOVE my results every time. So I'm extremely, extremely scared of the dentist. (Bad experience from when I was a kid). So about 10 years ago, I found a local dentist. And wouldn't you know it, another horrible experience. So definitely didn't help with my phobia of dentist. So talking with a friend about my fear and how it had been 10 years since my last dental visit, she recommended Dr. Jung. So I decided to give it another try. All I have to say is OMG, this office is the BEST!! From my initial call Mylene made me feel at ease, assuring me that they would take care of me. She was absolutely right! Every one in this office is amazing. So I finally got my mouth in order, after a crown and 2 cavities later. Nicki took awesome care of me as she took x-rays. Dr Jung explained everything he was doing, as he was working in my mouth. And Amanda is a gem as she cleans my teeth. This office is great. They really get to know you, and genuinely care about you. Best Dental Hygienist - Amanda! I have very sensitive teeth and have literally cried from past cleanings due to the sensitivity of my teeth. Past hygienists have used topical numbing gel and were careful, but still there would be pain and more numbing gel would be needed. This week, I had an appointment with Amanda for the first time. Of course, I started the appointment explaining the need for gallons of topical numbing gel! Amanda carefully listened as I explained my past experiences and how the power tools caused much more pain than the old fashion hand tools/scalers. As she reviewed my dental charts, she noticed comments about my dislike for the sonic care toothbrush. With this information, Amanda thought the high-frequency vibrations might be the cause of the pain. She suggested a special varnish, topical numbing gel and the lowest setting on the power scaler. As Amanda worked on my teeth, she was very careful and had a very controlled steady hand. It felt like the power scaler easily glided over my teeth. I think the varnish, along with the lower setting and Amanda's technique of cleaning gave me my first complete pain free session! Besides being a great technician, she is incredibly nice and patient. I highly recommend her; Amanda is the best! read more

Dr. Jung and his team are the BEST!!!! I am like most people and hate visiting the dentist. I have a very low threshold for pain and no patience for delays, runarounds, or trickery. When I visit Dr. Jungs office, I don't need to deal with any of the above. I have been to several dentists over the past several years and Dr. Jung is by far at the top of the list. I've now been to this office three separate times and each time I got consistent, gentle, and professional care. When I called for my initial appointment, I told them what a big chicken I was and they assured me that they would take care of me. That they did. They eased my discomfort by providing me detailed explanations of their procedures and various options to alleviate pain. It also helps that the dental assistants and receptionists are very kind and understanding. Making appointments and getting followup consultation and assistance with dealing with insurance companies is all taken care of by Myleen who always greets you with a positive attitude. She is definitely a straight shooter and someone you can count on to get you answers. I've dealt with several other dental offices who make you sit and wait even when you have a set appointment. I have also seen people who greet you with the kind of attitude that makes it obvious that they hate their jobs and dealing with people. There are also people out there who make it blatantly obvious that they want to extract as much money out of your pocket as possible. I am confident that I won't experience any of those things when I visit Dr. Jung's office. Dr. Jung and his team meet all of my impossibly high standards. I've come here for years for teeth cleaning, xrays, and a filling. I know people that have gone for more intense dental work and this is one of those friendly, efficient clinics that doesn't try to sell you on extra dental work other than you truly need, doesn't judge you if you want one of those alternative dental treatments (porcelain fillings, for instance), and is really clear about the billing situation (one of the most lucid and efficient front office managers I've come across). I really, really, really liked my previous dentist, but he kept moving further and further south (45 miles is a bit far for me to drive for dental work) so I finally gave up and didn't have work done until I found Dr. Jung and his friendly staff so close by. read more

Dr. Jung is the best dentist I've had and I love his staff. Because I clench my teeth, I've needed some extensive work done & each time I go in, Dr. Jung has been very professional & caring. One of the assistants, Debbie, always makes sure I'm comfy with a blanket, dark glasses, pleasant conversation & "lip balm" so my lips don't dry out during the procedure :) When I've had to bring my son, the staff has been kind enough to keep him occupied with a dental goody bag or a tour of the office. I have never been pushed into unnecessary cosmetic treatments here. They have also worked with me on pricing here & there because they aren't in my network of dentists (please consider accepting MetLife...please). I can't say enough about Dr. Jung. What a wonderful experience from the moment you come in Mylene is warm and friendly not to mention on the ball. The wait time is minimal due to Mylene's efficiency. I'm extremely afraid of dentists due to a previous root canal...ten years ago. Today I had my wisdom teeth removed with no pain at all! Dr. Jung is gentle and explains everything. I can't say enough about Dr. Jung. After some very bad experiences at other dental practices through the years, I have learned to trust them here. The staff is genuine, friendly and professional. The personal touch they put on everything is a real pleasure. I think everyone really loves working here. And the results have been consistently positive since Dr. Jung took over the practice. I have the worst teeth on the planet. I always max-out my insurance. But Dr. Jung always works with me and I know that I'm being treated fairly. The specialists he's referred me to for more challenging issues are batting a thousand. Again, I trust them here. And they've earned that trust in a big way. I still have all of my teeth. If I hadn't been going here, I doubt I'd be able to say that. And I wish I could give another star. I recommend this practice to anyone. I know I sound like his cheerleader...and honestly I'm not getting paid for this BUT I just got back from another visit and OMG, I can't tell you how happy I am I finally found a dentist that I love. He makes you feel so comfortable. They do everything they possibly can from blankets if you're cold to swabbing your lips with vasaline and he even let me listen to his IPOD (cool music!). The work he does is top notch as he repaired my chipped front teeth after an accident and you can't even tell anything happened.
