I have been to Abbots three times and each time I have received a wonderful massage. I'll be going back.

I can report that I had an absolutely fantastic experience and both Tina and Julie did a masterful job. We did a couples massage this past weekend and opted for deep tissue. Both Tina and Julie are true masters of this technique and really did a wonderful job. I have been getting massages for decades at 5 star resorts to little local places so I really feel I know when it's a good session or not. Thankfully this was a good session. This is not a full service spa with steam rooms and full bass. It is a straight massage spot, but it's very clean and quiet which all that is needed for a great massage. They offer deep tissue, Swedish, Thai, reflexology, hot stones, cupping, full body scrub, pregnancy, and I'm sure a few other options. I tend to do deep tissue myself, but every now and then a Swedish is a nice call. Parking is really easy, it's located in a large shopping center, so there's plenty of free parking spaces right out front. Pricing is also very fair, it was $80 for 1 hr of deep tissue, and the entire staff was very friendly. I would highly recommend and will be back again in the future for more sessions.

I have been here before and the issues remain the same…read more Venice Soleil texted me a special pricing, but I did not keep the text while receiving several times. When I arrived as a walk-in today, the receptionist who is very nice said they would offer a discount. They offer nail services on the ground floor and massage services upstairs. The address is 3014 Pacific Avenue on the corner just next to the florist. The interior is clean and they have a great billing system for swift service. My main problem is that few of these people who offer nail services cannot communicate in English. Secondly I had a male operator who spoke almost no English. I asked for a standard manicure/pedicure and he kept pointing to the menu and I acknowledged as such, yet the pricing was $70 which was ridiculous. Again, the language barrier is evident as I begged him to cut "short" which fell upon deaf ears. This is the third time this has occurred and it's bothersome. He did a decent job with the nails, but when someone can't communicate, it is poor service. I was charged $70 and the receptionist reduced it to $60, which I thought was still way too high to cut nails and file. I do not blame the manicurist, I blame to owner or manager who operates and manages this team of about 6 on a Monday morning. I left a $5 Tip on a service that was just gouging. There marketing worked as I did visit based on reaching out. But the pricing is confusing and when the manicurist cannot communicate, it is all the more problematic to recommend. The number is 424-228-2551.

I arrived with a scrunchie in my hair (my favorite scrunchie!) During the massage, the therapist removed it and then misplaced it. When I asked for it afterward, she appeared annoyed and rushed me out of the room rather than helping look for something she had removed. At the front desk, I asked if someone could help locate it. Instead of taking the situation seriously or showing basic empathy, the staff member dismissed me and made a joke about it. I later called back and was told they would look for it--but no one followed up. When I called again, I was laughed at and dismissed once more. I understand that to some people it's "just a scrunchie," but that completely misses the point. When a business mishandles a client's belongings, the bare minimum expectation is accountability and respect. What I experienced instead was repeated dismissal and lack of compassion. I will not return to this establishment, not because of the lost item, but because of how disrespectfully my concerns were treated.

I was in the market for someone who is familiar with structural bodywork and really knows their stuff. I didn't want a general deep tissue massage, I wanted a therapeutic session specific to my physical therapy needs. It takes a lot of experience and intuition to reach this level of expertise. I didn't even have to give Tricia much information, I just told her roughly where I have issues/tightness and she went to work and found all of the places that needed working out - and then some! Incredible and detailed work that was much appreciated and gave me much relief. Pricing is incredibly fair. Can't wait for my next session! Will definitely be going to her regularly from now on. I had to tell her that her massage was painful so many times because she just wasn't on target and did not feel well-trained. It was mostly painful and stressful. This morning, I noticed my left hand was feeling weak, and found a couple of bruise on my left hand. Not going back to this place.

Sometimes it's fine, sometimes it's "meh," and then every once in a while you find the one and cling to them for dear life until they inevitably disappear into the void. (RIP to my former favorites Riddhi and Sessie. Sessi, if you're out there, I miss you and my shoulders miss you even more.) BUT. Today?? Today I hit the absolute jackpot. Andy. Let me just say: if massages were an Olympic sport, Andy would have multiple gold medals, a sponsorship deal, and a documentary narrated by Morgan Freeman. I walked in feeling like a human knot. Not "a little tight," not "slightly sore"--no, I was basically a walking pretzel who had made several poor life choices. I walked out feeling like I had been gently reset to factory settings. Like...who authorized this level of transformation?? First of all, he LISTENS. I mentioned a couple of problem areas, and instead of doing the standard "nod and ignore," he actually focused on them like a highly trained muscle detective solving a crime. Every time I thought, "wow, that spot really needs work," he was already there, handling it like it personally offended him. Second--his technique?? Unfair. Illegal, even. The perfect balance of pressure, precision, and whatever sorcery he's clearly trained in. At one point I genuinely forgot what stress felt like. I may have briefly considered canceling all responsibilities and just living on that massage table forever. And the result? I floated out. Not walked--floated. I'm pretty sure I'm 30% lighter and 100% less cranky. Now here's the part where I struggle morally: I almost didn't write this review because I selfishly want to gatekeep Andy forever and keep his schedule wide open for me. But honestly...that feels illegal. The man is too good. The people deserve to know. Andy, if you ever leave, I will absolutely spiral and have to start this whole emotional journey over again. Please don't do that to me. 10/10. Life-changing. Book him immediately before he gets too famous and impossible to schedule... but like, respectfully, not before I get my next appointment.

Unfortunately, my recent experience was really disappointing. Since my friend wasn't available, I booked with a different therapist and asked for the deep tissue upgrade. Before we started, I clearly explained that I'm a distance runner and was looking for something between a sports massage and deep tissue: focused work, but not the kind of super intense pressure that leaves you sore for days. The massage therapist was so nice and I really thought we were aligned. But pretty quickly, something felt off. It took me a while to realize what it was, but there was no music playing at the start of the session. The therapist didn't turn it on until 20-30 minutes in, which made the whole beginning feel awkward and not very relaxing. There were also some basic details that were missed. I had forgotten to put my hair up, and instead of helping manage it (like placing a towel over it, which most therapists do) my hair kept getting caught and falling onto my neck. Rather than addressing it, the therapist just avoided working on my neck altogether which is an area that really needed attention. As for the massage itself, the technique just didn't meet expectations. At times it felt like the therapist was attempting pressure point work, but without enough pressure to actually be effective. I did mention that I could handle more pressure, but there wasn't much adjustment. Overall, it didn't feel like a deep tissue or sports massage, more like a very light, unfocused session that didn't address what I had communicated beforehand. I left feeling frustrated and honestly pretty upset that I had used my monthly massage on an experience that didn't meet my needs. I typically tip 20-30%, but this time I only tipped 15% because of how disappointed I was. I ended up sitting in my car afterward and crying because I was so frustrated--both that the massage didn't help when I really needed it, and that I hadn't been more assertive in the moment. To their credit, when I reached out afterward, a manager named Jamal was kind and responsive. However, he said he wasn't local to the Marina del Rey location and would pass my concerns along. That was a week ago, and I haven't heard anything since. The lack of follow-up only adds to the frustration. Since I'm locked into a 6-month membership, I'll have to give it another try, but moving forward I'll likely only book with my friend and won't continue after my contract ends. Overall, this experience didn't match the level of quality or professionalism I expected from a place with Burke Williams' reputation.
