We worked with Andrea Rentals to rent out a property which we had never done before - and it was a great experience. Knowledgeable and clear, Emily helped us understand the market and best practices, get clear about rent amount, while she also handled all marketing, the showings and lease negotiations with our (fabulous) renters. We were on a tight deadline and she worked with us to try and meet that deadline, which she did - we had our property rented within 2 weeks. They also have a list of resources. Our personal handy person was less expensive than the person they recommended - but she seemed organized and very competent. If we hadn't had our own person we would have felt very comfortable using her instead. We also worked with an insurance agent they recommended and that was a life saver. It is so hard to get home insurance at the moment with so many insurance companies not writing new policies, even our current insurer couldn't write a new policy for us. I arrived at 2:55pm and spent over two hours traveling just to get a message at 3:14pm with an apology that the property got leased last weekend without any communication about cancelling my appointment; even thought the property is still showing available on Zillow. This last month, I used Andreas Rentals for the 2nd time to find a tenant. Servane was communicative, helpful and prompt. Andrea, the business owner, on the other hand, was arrogant and full of attitude when her office made mistakes on the lease... not minor mistakes, but big ones. The wrong bank information on the lease! She called *NOT* to apologize for this bad error, but rather with a huge amount of attitude and arrogance. Wow. Your team did not communicate with each other and got basic lease info totally wrong... and you call ME WITH MAJOR ATTITUDE? Seriously? "We handle hundreds of leases a year...." Ummmm... so if you're so good at this then why did you get the basic financial info WRONG? This kind of totally unnecessary drama is exactly why I hired someone to do this work for me. Ugh.... I don't recommend working with Andrea. If you do, do not rely on Andrea to get the lease right even the basic info. Make sure YOU proof every line very carefully and be prepared FOR A TOTAL ATTITUDE PROBLEM when dealing with Andrea. UPDATE: The next week. I got an updated lease. The bank info was correct in BOTH places. Now, the address was wrong.... the address folks. AND the tenant names from another unit in the building were left in. Basic fill in the blanks here and still getting it wrong. I feel like I need to micro-manage and should be paid for my part of this workflow. UGH. Revised score from 2 stars to 1 star. read more

Andrea Rentals posted a beautiful house for rent. I reached out immediately, Servane responded immediately. We did a video tour (COVID-19) and scheduled for the first avail in person tour. We filled out the application which required us to submit photos of ourselves in addition to the ids and submitted it in advance of our in person tour. She said our application looked good, (more than) met all the criteria and then shortly after sending the application (with our beautiful brown faces showing in the photos) to the owner Servane called, very apologetic and said inexplicably that the owner had decided to remove the property from the market. We recently (June 2016) applied for one of Andrea's listings as potential tenants. To summarize, the process had its ups and downs: Ups: - Scheduling a viewing of the property was straightforward and quick. - Andrea was quite cordial and personable. - The initial process and necessary application documents were made very clear. Downs: - After we had filled out an application and paid the fee, there was a lack in communication regarding the status of our application. We filled out the application on Thursday and were told to expect a response by Monday. After having not received any communications by the end of Tuesday, we reached out back to her (at the end of Tuesday) and were later told that the landlords had ended up choosing other applicants. From our point of view, the lack of communication after sending in the filing fee made the process feel like a con and led us to question whether the application process was actually legitimate. As a suggestion for future improvement, continued communication and openness throughout the process would be appreciated and would help validate the sincerity of the operation. Business as Usual: Adequate Service and Housing for the Very Few [GRAD STUDENTS BEWARE] My partner and I recently applied for a 1 bedroom apartment through Andrea Rentals. We are both Ph.D. students, so our income is low; however, we both have excellent credit scores and had a co-signer (who is a medical doctor and thus makes good money). We were also prepared to move in whenever the landlord wanted. In short, we seemed extremely qualified to take on the lease. Nonetheless, after taking a tour, we were asked by the agent, "Do you have any sources of income besides those listed on the application?" We answered honestly (no), expressed our interest again, were told that we were the ONLY applicants and that would hear back in a few days. In fact, the agent made it seem as though we had the apartment secured and that consultation with the landlord was a mere formality. The promised day came and went, and so we contacted the agent again. When she responded, we were informed that, magically, several applicants had appeared, and the landlord decided to go with one of them instead. We were offered back our application fees, which meant that our credit was never even processed. After asking for an explanation, none was given. We can only conclude that, upon seeing our income, and in spite of our record of conscientious financial activity (and having a co-signer), we were denied the apartment. I cannot determine the precise legality of the situation, but it appears that they sat on our application until other interested parties came along. It was especially galling because the agent so grossly misrepresented our chances for approval. It just goes to show that Andrea Rentals is yet another arm of elitist landlords who refuse to rent their precious apartments to anyone below a six-figure income bracket. I found the behavior of the agent (and by extension, the landlord) despicable and dishonest. If you are a graduate student, be warned that Andrea Rentals will not treat you fairly. read more

Fabulous experience (!!). I received high-level customer service from the initial call when Laura managed the intake, to my phone appointment with an agent, Servane, just a few days later. Servane nailed my preferences for a rental and, literally, within 4 days of our phone call, she arranged two viewings of townhouses, the first viewing being the one I chose to rent. She contacted the property company right away and was able to schedule an appointment on the Friday before the Monday the company said they were taking appointments. We met the owner, I could tell he clicked nicely with Servane, and I sensed he enjoyed our interview. Servane suggested I "sleep on it" (no hard sell), and on Saturday, I let her know I wanted to move forward. I completed the application, and I was on my way.
