Chef Lauren worked with us to personalize the menu for my partner's milestone birthday celebration and provided a full service dinner for 40 guests in our apartment with compelling warmth, confidence, and the utmost professionalism. The food was mouthwatering from the first tantalizing passed hors d'oeuvres all the way to the desserts which, by the way, included triple chocolate brownies with raspberries on the side. Everything was perfectly flavored; clearly prepared with great care and the finest ingredients; and presented beautifully. We are over the moon and our guests haven't stopped talking about the flavorful food and wonderful service. On top of that, our kitchen was left sparkling clean and there was an awesome stash of irresistible leftovers waiting for us in the fridge to help keep the memory of an already unforgettable and delicious evening alive for just a little while longer. From the very beginning I was impressed with Tastings. Laura was very accommodating and willing to work with my budget, and was quick to answer any questions. Not once did she get frustrated with me, even though we went through several rounds of revisions before finalizing our menu and services. Samples of hors d'oeuvres were sent to me prior to the event so I could ensure I liked my menu selections. They were all delicious! Laura did a walk through of the event space to familiarize her staff with the space beforehand, and to ensure there were no additional tables, table cloths, coat racks etc. needed on her side. The day of the event all of the staff were very professional and friendly. There was a mixup with the white wine I ordered (from a wine delivery service) and Laura and her staff were quick to find a solution. They found a nearby wine store and went over with me to select a white wine that complimented our menu. All of my guests continue to praise the hors d'oeuvres, especially the cake bon bons. And I can't praise Tastings enough! From start to finish, they were very hands-on and made the planning process a breeze. I highly recommend using Tastings for any catering needs. I will definitely be using them again!

A very detailed excel sheet was sent back, and we emailed requesting a breakdown of drinks included vs. no drinks included, given that the recommending friends suggested we do the same. When no response was given, I called Yen, who stated that as a company, they needed to make money, so were no longer doing the option of drinks bought separately (which I said was fine, just contradictory to her document as well as my friend's experience). At that point, she said that food and labor costs so little so drinks would be needed to make it financially worth it. An hour later she emailed to say that she changed and that we could do the drinks. In any case, when we reached out again a month later, she declined to take our wedding. In the end, it wouldn't have mattered but what a strange feeling having to deal with all this for a simple proposal.
