The receptionist at this office are incredibly rude and unprofessional!!!! Especially for people working in their profession! People are coming to them for help, compassion and understanding and trusting them with their childrens health I walked into fill out paperwork for my kids to become patients mind you my two children have special needs and an extensive health issues and the receptionist ladies was so rude and ignorant I left and will not be Signing my children up to be patients with them it's sad the drs might be amazing but their awful receptionist at the front are losing them patients! read more

My children have been patients at Andover Pediatrics for over 5 years. I love all of the doctors in this practice and truly feel a special bond with Dr. Hurley, who has been caring for my kids since birth. However, their practice has really gone downhill over the last year or so and I no longer feel I can trust them with the care of my children. I feel as if their office staff operates separately from their medical staff and have a totally different set of values and practices. The medical staff have only ever been professional and respectful. The office staff are rude, inconsiderate, unhelpful, and just plain incompetent. One of my children was born at the peak of the Covid19 pandemic and I couldn't have any visitors, birth attendees, etc. at the hospital with me. I labored wearing a mask and couldn't leave my room at all during my stay at the hospital, which was difficult. Imagine my surprise when I walked into Andover Pediatrics with a 3-day-old newborn for her 1st office visit to discover all of the front desk staff wearing their masks around their chins/below their noses. This was irresponsible and disrespectful to the vulnerable patients who were susceptible to covid and other illnesses. After my second child started visiting this practice, I started to receive bills for standard office visits. After contacting my insurance company, I discovered that they were billing the visits incorrectly. I obtained the details the office needed in order to re-bill these visits correctly and provided them with everything. It took over 5 phone calls to this practice before they finally got it right. It wasn't that they didn't have the info they needed, they simply didn't care enough to do a little extra paperwork to make life easier for their patients. My last encounter with this practice will be my final one. I asked to obtain copies of my children's medical records, which is a standard request in all medical practices. Andover Pediatrics makes patients jump through hoops just to have access to their own medical information. Despite this, I had my children's records released to me, so I could have them on file. I did not leave the practice (though that thought had crossed my mind) and did not transfer my children's' care to any other practice. A few weeks later, my family was on vacation several hours away from home when the baby contracted conjunctivitis. I called Andover Pediatrics' answering service at 7:30am and asked to speak with a doctor or nurse to get advice (do I go to Urgent Care? schedule a telehealth? have a RX called in????). They totally ignored my phone call. Sometime after 12:00pm, I called the office to get a status update. They said that the office manager made us inactive in their system since I requested copies of my children's medical records and just decided not to return my phone call - who does that???? I explained that I had not transferred to another practice and that Dr. Hurley was still listed as the Primary Care Physician for both of my children. The VERY RUDE person I spoke to that day insisted over and over that my children had a different doctor listed under my insurance plan (she was confusing my kid's policy number with my husband's and kept reading off the name of his doctor, who doesn't even accept children as patients). She refused to listen to me and hung up on me. I was in tears after this phone call, because I had a sick child and an uncaring medical practice who refused to even point me in the right direction. I immediately called my insurance company (who verified Dr. Hurley is, in fact, still listed as the primary care physician for both of my kiddos) and found an urgent care clinic who could help. Thankfully, my baby is doing well and thriving in spite of Andover Pediatrics. If the doctors in this practice read my review, and I hope they do, I would like a follow up phone call. I'd like to know what actions are being taken to prevent this from happening in the future. In the very least, I hope they make the sensible decision to replace office staff who tarnish their image. read more

I read really good reviews about Andover Pediatrics and made appointments for my children. However, I just couldn't get past the unprofessionalism of the receptionist, especially Anita. They answer the phone like you are a huge burden on them. They are not at all cordial and when you call, Anita will quickly tell you to hold and click over. I thought it was, "Andover Pediatrics may you please hold?" The poor training alone makes me terrified to take my children there. Do better please. read more

I'm sure there are other more reputable forums than Yelp for reviews of pediatricians, but nevertheless here we are. The practice is in a very oddly shaped building just off rte 133 near the Andover / N Andover line. Parking is never a problem. There are several doctors and nurse practitioners so there also isn't a problem scheduling. Additionally, they have a standard hour every day for unscheduled sick drop-ins. We've been to 5 appointments for our newborn already and we've found doctors/nurses we like better than others, but it's nice to have that variety and to be able to get different opinions. We've never waited longer than 3 minutes in the waiting room and they don't rush you out of the exam room so you can nurse before going home if needed. read more

Thanks to you, I didn't die of Polio. But srzly, I wish I could go back to this office as opposed to the ghetto one I have now. Adults like playing with toys and jungle gyms in waiting rooms too! If you have kiddies, and live on the north shore, head on over to Andover Pediatrics. They'll help your children not die. And in the process, keep them occupied with shiny toys whilst the doctor sneaks up on them with a nice, big needle. read more

Let me start by saying I love the doctors. However, I have moved and need my kids records sent to a new pediatrician. I not only have to go to their office to pick up the records but they are going to charge me 15 per kid. The new pediatrician I am going to see finds that absurd because it is physician to physician. Choose wisely if you go to this practice. Don't go unless you never plan on switching MD's. My kids go once a year for a physical and never had any major illnesses. It is absurd and I am beyond frustrated. read more

Review update: the unprofessionalism of the weekend answering service should not reflect the wonderful customer service and medical attention we have received thus far at the Andover Pediatric office. Although I do stand firm regarding updating their nursing "call-back" services, the negative encounter I had with the call representative in no way reflects how staff at Andover Pediatrics treats their patients and their families. After my review was brought to administrative staff's attention, the issue was immediately addressed (in person) and she apologized on behalf of the answering service (which wasn't necessary since they do not directly work for the office, but it was very much appreciated). Although I still had a poor experience over the phone with the answering service, the way the office staff handled the situation was nothing short of excellent customer service and it was very thoughtful of them to reassure me that they didn't take such instances lightly. I would definitely recommend the pediatric medical personnel over at Andover Pediatrics. read more

We moved here and were referred to this practice by the local mums group. I have been very pleased. I saw the doctor we chose all but once. The NP we saw on the visit was just as fabulous. I feel like they go above and beyond to make having a sick child as pleasant as possible. I LOVE the fact that they have morning walk in hours so you don't have to stalk the phones to get an appointment for a sick child! read more

Not impressed ..... :-( Very slow service and frowny faces to welcome you. Even the nurse staff comes in with a poker face. Sometimes the wait is 20-30 mins...however, your kids checkup time is guaranteed to be less than 5-10 mins. Note: Luckily they've a fish tank and my kids are occupied during the long waits in the lobby. I enquired couple of Children clinics in the neighborhood and finally someone recommended us to Pentucket Medical ExpressCare in Lawrence. I'm from Andover and the commute is couple of minutes longer however, I guess its worth it for the kids. Awesome staff and doctors quick check in... We spent 15-20 mins Q&A with the Pediatric doc (not nurse !!). OMG !! What a positive change !! I'm never going to set my foot in Andover Pediatrics again. Shifted my entire family to Pentucket Medical You surely should try other clinics if Pentucket/Lawrence isn't close to you to realize what you're missing ! read more

If you're 10 minutes late to an appointment, you should just turn around an go home since they will refuse to take you. Its cool, I only drove 45min to get there and have been coming here for 8 years. Just lost my business. read more

Although my son (teenager) feels a little odd walking in to an office with cartoons on the wall and kids storybooks, we love this office! I remind him there is sports illustrated on the table :) we live 35 minutes away but love the doctors! read more

Great pediatricians, well-run operation. We are never in the waiting room for more than 5-10 min, and there's a big fish tank and other things to occupy the kids' time until you're called. Exam rooms are decorated elaborately to entertain kids even more. Doctors are friendly and prompt. After hours callbacks from the nurses are usually pretty quick and helpful. read more

The doctors are wonderful, nursing staff is great, but getting through that front desk staff is like going through the dragon's gate. The front desk staff needs training in kindness and compassion. read more
