I have been completely understanding of the shortage in staff and have been very flexible but I have not felt like this had been reciprocated. I had an incident where I had switched insurances and didn't have my insurance card yet so I called with the information prior to the appointment. I got to the appointment and they didn't have the information even though I spent 20 minutes on the phone days before giving them the information. They told me they didn't have any record of my phone call with the office and I felt very gaslighted. They proceeded to make phone calls or look on different date bases to see if they could find the insurance information while I called the insurance to get the new number. I over heard a front desk person ask another front desk person to look under mass health. I then said I knew it wasn't mass health because it was insurance through my place of work. They looked at each other and disregarded what I had said and one of the women said "look under mass health anyways". I am a Latina woman so you can understand how that made me feel disrespected. Not only because I wasn't heard but also because I was stereotyped and even if I was on mass health the interaction would have been enough to make me feel bad about that which is never ok. I have not had an appointment on the time of the appointment for at least 2 years now. They are unorganized and have no understanding or flexibility even though this is a pediatric practice. I am now having to allot 2 hours for appointments to account for the wait time but they will make you pay a $50 fee and won't see your child if you are more than 9 minutes late. Even though I have sat in my car for 25 minutes waiting for them to call me to let me into the building for an appointment. Unrealistic and unprofessional. I will be changing our pediatrician, not because of the doctors or nurses because they have been wonderful but the front desk service is terrible and disrespectful.

After tests, the doctor said I could have anything to eat or drink and somebody would be in. I asked for water several times and was told I could have someone I went upstairs to be admitted four hours later I got water. The morning nurse was rude and physically took me out of the bathroom while I was coughing up. Phlegm was very angry again asked for water or something to eat and was refused. After the nastiness, I signed myself out, went down to the vending machines to eat and then drove myself home. I did report this to the hospital and was told I would be sent a form. However, the woman at this department was also pretty negative. The phone never came. I would definitely not recommend

It started as the first pediatricians office in the town and in my opinion remains the best! They have since branched off into a second location which conveniently opened in North Andover where I attended high school. I was a patient here from birth until 2005 when they insisted that I needed to get an "adult" doctor in. So I went to my pediatrician until I was 21... shut it! Although Dr. Patricia A. Connolly was my main doc she seemed to be a favorite of many and I oftentimes had to take visits with other dr's/nurses. But I have never met one that I didn't like and I was a sickly child so I was here a lot! I know from working at a daycare that it takes a lot of patience to work with small children and I can't even imagine what it's like to work with SICK small children so I have nothing but respect. If you are a parent and are looking for a doctor this is the place to go! I guarantee you won't be disappointed and you'll leave knowing that your child has received amazing care. When/if I ever have my own I'll definitely be bringing them here.

My two children have Dr. Smith and she has been nothing but great. The group has people on call 24-7 and weekend hours for emergencies. In answer to one of the reviews below, yes some, if not all, of the doctors at Dowd Medical are pro-vaccine. Those doctors have studied the science and have concluded that the alleged risk of getting the vaccine is worth not getting mumps or measles as a child. The doctors at Dowd make no secret of this stance and were very forward with me about this during the orientation I first attended. I don't think a medical group should be penalized for offering their medical opinion to the parent of a child.

Friendly, caring, listening to my concerns and made me feel comfortable. My annual for this year was scheduled at my last appointment last year, as I do every year. I always make sure to take the day off from work. The DAY BEFORE my appointment this year at 4pm I received a voicemail that was a brief recording saying my appointment has been canceled because the NP was out on leave. (totally understandable BUT TO WAIT UNTIL 4pm ON THE DAY BEFORE MY APPT... UNACCEPTABLE.) I was left completely hanging. I had already made arrangements to take the day off from work and have my kids picked up from school by a relative to make this appt. Whats even more disappointing and frankly bad business is that I NEVER received a call from the staff to reschedule my appointment either. I'm very disappointed as I did like the NP's but will probably not be returning to this office.

Was over a 40 min wait for an 8:50am allergy appointment, but fortunately the offices communicate with each other and they were able to move up our daughter's ENT appt and shuffle us next door then back to allergy to ultimately wrap up earlier than initially expected. No manager available to even talk to. This is ridiculous. Based on other comments, their strategy is to just see the patient regardless of insurance status, and charge the patient directly if no insurance is available. What a rip off.
