Best primary care internist left practice. they provided a NURSE for my annual physical. I have multiple health conditions that need to be addressed. Not happy with this service. 4 yrs ago Knee surgery, pain getting worse every month, yet they only recommend more physical therapy. schedule for PT is 5 months out so I switched to HD Therapy on South Bedford St, 5*. They work with what Dr. vito did....constant nerve pain, numbness, cramping, failure on walking 14 minutes flat surface. All they do is recommend another specialist for everything, more tests, xrays, MRI needs to be in Chelmsford, GI tests Kenmore Square. Asked for Handicap sticker, paperwork left for Dr. signature but they never sent it in. 5 months???? ridic read more

Pediatrician office is great. We rarely see the same Dr/NP twice with how often we've had to come in, but everyone is knowledgeable, patient, and down to earth so it works out. Was over a 40 min wait for an 8:50am allergy appointment, but fortunately the offices communicate with each other and they were able to move up our daughter's ENT appt and shuffle us next door then back to allergy to ultimately wrap up earlier than initially expected. Specialty Drs are also great and after 4 ear infections our 9 month old's 20 min tube surgery went perfectly. Happy with Atrius health! read more

I had an urgent gynecological appointment that was cancelled by the office supervisor without consulting with me first. She assumed incorrectly that I didn't have a referral and left me a message on the patient portal that I no longer had an appointment. I would suggest people that people avoid a practice that treats patients so callously and dismissively. read more

A location that has both audiology and ENT services really should offer hearing aid services on site as well instead of sending patients miles away into Boston, Dedham, or Quincy for them. It's not convenient at all. I love the convenience and ease of using the Atrius Health network, but now will be looking for an outside provider for audiology and hearing aid services. I do think the people in the audiology and ENT departments are lovely and the location itself is great and convenient. Please consider offering hearing aid services for your patients at this location as well. Until then, I have to give this location one star. read more

I've been at this practice for years and I'm so disappointed with the quality of care over the past couple of years. I'm a very healthy individual and only go in a couple times a year for routine stuff. Showed up for my well visit and they said they changed it but forgot to call me. Checked my portal for an upcoming appointment and there was an added appointment in there (Boston office) for a Cortizone injection for my arm, but I'm having no arm issues! Got my first pneumonia vaccine, and the nurse hit my bursa and froze my arm for two weeks. Dr won't put my referral in for a colonoscopy because I haven't seen them (only nurse), but Dr has no open appointments for over a year. The place doesn't make you healthy, if anything, it causes stress and adds injury! On a positive note, the check-in staff has always been wonderful, the place is clean and the pharmacy is never that busy. They need to start making some positive changes in the quality of care. read more

She looked at me like she was willing to check me in, then when I said hello, she put her head down and refused to make eye contact. I have been going to Harvard Vanguard in Burlington for the last six years. Both myself and my kids have had very positive experiences with the medical professionals and staff here. I appreciate being able to use their app to communicate with the team, Book appointments, pay deductibles and complete electronic forms. I have leveraged the after hours consultations and even urgent cares located around the Boston area. We are now on our second primary care physician for the kids and although I still miss the original, Dr. Rosenquist who moved to one of their Boston proper locations, I am very thankful that Dr. Fung is so amazing! The only mediocre advice I have ever received from any of the staff was that I should carry all of my kids booster seats and car seats with me on an international trip. It's my fault for asking, as my conscience weighed on me that if something happened and they weren't using these safety devices that I would blame myself so I asked them for their opinion. And of course, they had to tell me based on best practice and US law so I took booster and car seats to Africa and didn't use any but the infant seat. Overall, the facility is clean and super convenient. Not only can we see our PCPs, but they have several specialists and pharmacy on site. Due to the net work of clinics, we can usually find an appointment during the same day and even over the weekends in the case of a critical issue. The only thing I would change about the appointment process is to bring back the coloring pages and crayons and the magnet for the table for the kids in the waiting area. The fish tank helps entertain but parents can use some help & coloring can be safely completed at a distance if need be. read more

Very disorganized practice. Loses appointments, cancels appointments without explanations, frequently fail to renew critical medications. Several times they told me they "tried to contact me", yet I have no missed calls and no messages on my voice mail. Very dishonest front office staff. I do find it somewhat humorous that every single negative review on yelp has the same cut-and-paste impersonal response about how they are taking our concerns seriously. Yet nothing changes. Really taking concerns seriously, or just a lazy cut-and-paste response before ignoring all the issues at the practice. read more

If I could give negative stars I would. I would not recommend this practice to my worst enemy. I was happy being a patient here for nearly my entire life until recently. There have been a lot of changes and none good. Was seen yesterday for migraine, doctor insisted on giving me meds that I told them were ineffective for me. Surprise! They didn't work. Call today at 1130 "nurse will call you back" Call again at 245 "nurse will actually call you back this time" Call at 545 "urgent care will call you back" Urgent care says "we won't give you anything and there aren't any appointments anywhere guess you have to go to the er" Recently they have been refusing to refill my inhalers, birth control and migraine meds. Absolutely disgusting and I would rather smash my head against a wall than continue to go to this practice. read more

The issue, however, with this practice is they cannot even honor telephonic appointments with honesty and resorts to lies that the Doctor called me and I didn't pickup! I moved to this practice from the one in Watertown and I could not be more happy with that choice. My new PCP, Dr. Santoro, is easily one of the kindest and most knowledgable doctors I have ever met. She immediately made me feel safe and at ease, and as someone with doctor anxiety, this is not typical for me! The front desk staff and nurses were also kind and helpful. Ihave been going to HVG for about 7 years, Ive had both great care and average care but today I felt PUNKED, is this dude even a real doctor? Ive had some kind of virus for 7 days fever, vomitting, cough the works, luckily the nurse who performed my covid/flu test was a coherihant human cause whenthey Dr. came in he couldnt ask an intelligent question to save his life kept insisting I "prob have a sinus infection" I couldnt hear a word he was saying he spoke like a mouse and got annoyed when I asked him to repeat himself, he prescribes me an antibiotic and asks ME if its the right one for sinuses, I said your the dr you tell me maybe look at my chart, he looks and realises its the wrong one, omg really ?! I go here for location and one particular NP who is amazing and if I ever get DOCTOR JOHNSON again Im running straight out the door! read more

This is for the Woburn location (which I think subsumed/joined the Burlington location). I made an appointment for today at 2:20PM via phone yesterday. On the phone, the scheduler told me it was either tomorrow or months from now with Dr. Pimrale, so obviously I went with tomorrow. I showed up at the office of Dr. Pimrale only to be told that nobody had made me an appointment for today, but that there was one in the system for a month from now... Ugh. Since I was there, I asked if I could be seen for a medication refill or a shorter appointment. The receptionist said yes, and suggested I make another appointment for another issue, but after consulting with the doctor a few times she told me that no, I couldn't see the doctor at all for PCP type care with refills because she is "internal medicine" and "doesn't do that at all." Having taken a half day off work, I called Harvard Vanguard again from my car to see if I could get in on any cancellations today-- no luck. They even tried to make me an appointment WITH THE SAME DOCTOR for a later date?? I've had really good experiences with HVMA in Kenmore Square before, but this was honestly the worst experience I've ever had with a healthcare provider. Not only did they make an error and waste my time, but they tried to do it again, and offered no correction. Edit: I did get a call today with an apology and an explanation, which I appreciate. However, I have transferred to a different network of centers because I still feel unsure about whether I would be given an appointment that would be honored in the future. read more

Re pediatrics From Diane at the front desk to the doctors in pediatrics - I can not talk more highly about HV. I I am extremely picky with doctors and nurses. When we moved from Methuen to Burlington we kept my daughters pediatrician for a full year before I transferred. I have done foster care for several years and have been to many other offices to compare. My daughters pediatrician is Dr. Rosenthal who is extremely intelligent and kind. I love that he does not send us off to children's with every issue like I have dealt with in other offices. He is also respectful towards my daughter sensitivities. I never feel rushed and never have to wait that long. Dr. Rosenquist is another doctor at that office I am very familiar with. One of my previous foster kids was lucky enough to get permission to change doctor offices during his time with us and had her for a PEdi. He had a lot of health issues and she went above and beyond to help facilitate everything that needed to be done. Even the phlebotomist at the bloodwork office is so nice, funny and welcoming that it distracts my kids. If I could change one thing about the pediatricians office it would be that NP Rhana would be on Dr. Rosenthal's team. read more

My wife and I are thrilled with the service we expirienced at our second ultrasound visit here at Harvard Vanguard in Kenmore. The first encounter we had really left us with bad taste as you can tell from my previous review. The staff working in patient services are excellent! I contacted a lovely woman named Olga who was nothing but apologetic about our first visit, she even sent my wife and I a beautiful bouquet of flowers as an apology. They definitely did not have to do that, but it shows their commitment to their patients and it made us feel like they cared. The second ultrasound tech was like night and day! We couldn't have asked for a better tech. Her name was Kristen and she was amazing. She made my wife feel so comfortable and you could tell that she loved her job! She was funny and informative and very knowledgeable. She was even talking to our baby asking them to roll over or put their arms down, ect. She printed out a boat load of pictures for us and even wiped off my wife's belly. Based on our second expirience, we would recommend the HV Kenmore to anyone. read more

The people at the internal medicine department aren't doing their job. Called in on Monday for an appointment but wasn't able to reach them for the entire day. Mind you, I called in at 12, 12:30, 1:00, 1:40, 2:00, 2:30, 4:20. I was waiting on the phone for about 20 mins each time I called them. I figured the office was closed, so I tried calling again in the morning the next day about one minute before opening hours. An older woman picks up and asks me if it's an emergency and I said, "No, I want to make an appointment." The lady then proceeds to say, "Okay, can you call back, we are opening in 1 minute" and then hangs up. I was so close to talking to a human being! So I waited for a few minutes and called back and again, no one picked up for 10 mins. I've had enough of it. Whoever that's sitting behind the phone should learn how to do her job right or someone else should. read more

First and last time I will ever use any Harvard Vanguard facilities/services. I went for a walk in x-ray at 11:00am. Should have taken 15 minutes, I left 2 hours later. It was not because they were busy, there was 1 person in front of me. Once the x-ray tech got to me she was nice and all but explained that they have cut back on staff and she has to do all the administrative, reception and tech work. Not her fault. But the organization is run by morons. Avoid at all costs. read more

I like that Harvard Vanguard has a lot of locations. Going here, you check in at the front desk, then walk to your location - Lab, Internal Medicine, wherever you're going that time. You don't need to check in again, just wait there for your appointment. If you are like me and want to check in twice, you can - but I am pretty sure you don't have to. Scheduling routine appointments is easy and convenient by phone or online (I really prefer online appointments). I'm generally seen within 10-15 minutes of my appointment time, and visits are timely. It's nice that they have labs and everything in one place - no running around to different clinics or waiting days for results. I have had mixed feelings about certain doctors being a bit negative and judgemental of lifestyle choices, which does not encourage me to be honest (and that's really important for me in a doctor-patient relationship), but hopefully I'll be able to find one I click with soon. There are a lot to choose from here. Easy to schedule appointments, even for the same day. Everything in one place (almost). It's a doctor's office - not super exciting, but just fine. read more

I ve been a patient at this location for almost 10 years and I highly recommend this location for the following reasons: First of all because of Dr Gorvine - who's the best PCP I ve ever had. Since I suffer of severe migraines, I often have to bother him to pre authorize my medicine. There were times when I called right before the closing time and if Dr Gorvine was working I would get my medicine pre authorized right away. NURSES are not as helpful but I think maybe bc they can t authorize medicine . Other departments that I recommend are: OBGYN ( starting with the front desk Mary and all the way to the Doctors all stuff are fantastic), Dermatology, Physical Therapy, Orthopedie. The only Dr that I can't give 5 stars would be the GI dr. She might be a good dr, but her 4 min consultation didn't do much for me. ( this was about 3 years ago so I hope they have a new GI dr now bc I still suffer from the same condition :) read more

They are not accommodating in the least, and forget about seeing an MD- they are neither available to see your child the majority of the time, and will never be the ones answering your calls at night- no, you will maybe get an LPN who is absolutely clueless after about an hour wait and talking to the answering service. They just do push you to do all kinds of unnecessary tests and send you huge bills.Even if the health issue is clear and evident they ask you to do tests saying its their protocol. Dr. Vadnais is a fantastic maternal-fetal medicine specialist! I had a complicated pregnancy which required me to see Dr. Vadnais many times throughout my pregnancy. This being my first pregnancy, I was nervous and scared to see her because it meant my pregnancy wasn't going as smoothly as I had hoped but I couldn't have had a better doctor to take care of me! Dr. Vadnais was incredible every step of the way. She was kind, approachable, relatable, sympathetic, honest and caring. She was also extremely knowledgeable and went over everything that was happening with detailed explanations. Dr. Vadnais answered all my questions with honest, thorough answers while doing so with unwavering compassion. She never dismissed any symptoms or issues I was having as unimportant or insignificant. I never was rushed through my appointments either which was very comforting. I always felt like a priority with her utmost attention and care! When hospitalized early on into my pregnancy, Dr. Vadnais reached out when I was in the hospital to see how I was doing which was so kind and unexpected. She also made it known that I could get in touch with her anytime with questions or concerns, and always returned my messages promptly which was very much appreciated. I am so grateful to have had Dr. Vadnais!!! I will absolutely see her again for any future pregnancies! read more

Refused to give one to my kids neurologist of 6 years or other specialist we have been seeing for years. Staff can be rude, and appointments tend to start 15-20mins late. read more

I left Harvard Vanguard and my PCP in the Burlington facility after over 25 years because of their poor medical service and even worse customer service. My complaints were dismissed by my PCP, I was given improper medical treatment by their orthopedic specialist, I was denied approval to see my long-standing orthopedic surgeon (because he was not in the Harvard Vanguard network), and I was subjected to ridiculously inefficient and erroneous customer service by the referral desk, the internal medicine desk, and the Head of Administration at Harvard Vanguard Burlington. read more

I went there for PT and it was a horrible experience. Unfriendly service and rude people. No patient care skills and no flexibility at all, it is either black or white. It seems like folks who work there are not happy and therefore they did not treat their patients right either. During my 30 min appointment they spent 15 min writing stuff in computer rather than spending time my concerns. The exercise they make you do can be done at home. They do not let you use any of their equipment. I would rather go some where else. This place is waste of time and money. read more

This office is poorly structured and the staff is quite rude. I had an appointment with a dermatologist and the signs said dermatology was on the second floor. The room labeled "DERMATOLOGY" is actually Lahey Clinic and Harvard Vanguard's dermatology department is located in Internal Medicine??? Then when I tried to check in with Internal Medicine, I had to wait for the receptionist to get off the phone and she told me to go BACK downstairs to check in. Then after standing in line (or what I thought was the line) for several minutes, the woman behind the desk rudely said, "Um...did you see that the line is over there?" She pointed to the other side of the stairway where there was a line of people standing literally 10-12 feet away from the desk. I finally got in to see the doctor (Dr. Matloff) and he ended up being a huge jerk. Long story short...I will never go back to Harvard Vanguard in Burlington. read more

I try not to go tho the Doctor unless it is serious. Called at New Years about a problem that was getting worse not better . Took me about 2 days to see a nurse practitioner went well got 2 prescriptions and an appointment to see a specialist in a 2 weeks. Not bad so far. I used both prescriptions and nothing changed even got a little worse, I did not call because I was coming up on the other appointment and felt the specialist would resolve the issue more quickly. Specialist I saw was a total waste the issue was outside his field and wanted me to see another specialist ok appointment was made for 2 weeks later. I show up at that appointment even worse then the 2 weeks prior and the appointment on the card and the one they scheduled me for was a week apart. The week prior, They never called or notified me about the appointment or the change now I am out of work 3 days and have to wait another week for a new appointment. Nothing offered in the mean time. The good thing is this is not life threatening as far as I can tell but has put me flat on my back now and they take it like well gee. Sorry not good enough I will be looking for healthcare someplace else in the future that takes me seriously and does not let a problem slide for a month with nothing offered to help. Really a total time wasted and if it turns out to be more serious then I thought I will be really upset then. Avoid them unless it is routine and you can afford to wait. read more

We have been seeing quite chaos in the center for the last two years or so. I went for physical one time, the doctor put in room and never showed up then i waited for 40 minutes and left. He called later on to apologize. After awhile i booked physical again then it took long time, but at least checked me. My wife and daughter also very bad experiences. My wife was dealing with some burping issues, the MD in Burlington referred her to Medford. The appointment was given after 6 weeks, while my wife suffered during the time. After waiting for 6 weeks, she saw a PA (physician's Assistant) who was referring her to another center in Boston without any checkup on the issue. Then i called up what is the reason they are referring to Boston and their explanation, we don't do anything for GI issues in Medford, so my question was why they referred there. We had PPO, we can go anywhere without any referral. We ended up calling Lahey and they took care of the appointment and issue within two weeks. On top of all the suffering and agony, they have billed for nothing almost $400. We questioned about the bill, they said they will look into and call back and no one called back. Yesterday the bill was sent to collections, on top of that, same day another GI doctor calls and reads us a printed script to talk to us. Come on, these people cannot talk in plain language with people. Now we are switching doctors and the center after a very disappointing several experiences. I hope someone reads all the complains they have. I think those complains speak for themselves of the service and greediness of the center. read more

Not sure I understand all the low ratings. Been coming to this practice for well over 20 years. First as a single guy, then after I got married. I saw a few different primary care doctors for a few years but have been seeing Dr. Wong for many years now and have nothing but great things to say about him or the care I've received from him and the staff at Internal Medicine. My wife also used this practice for her obstetrics during all three of her pregnancies. We couldn't say enough about the care we got from Dr. Samaha and NP Goldberg throughout all three pregnancies. After that all three kids have gone to Pediatrics at this practice where we continued to get excellent care from NP Goldberg before she retired. We have been nothing but pleased with the care we've received from all the doctors and nurses there, most recently Dr. Rosenquist and Dr. Boulanger. Can't say enough about them. Most recently I had seen Dr. Lombardo at the newer Optometry dept and both my wife and myself had a great experience with him too. In fact, every interaction I have had with various depts at this practice has been nothing but positive. Shout out to the lab staff as well as they are all pleasant and efficient! read more

My family and I have been patients for years to this practice and in the past 2 years we have been really struggling with their billing department. We are constantly mischarged, or overcharged, so we have to call them all the time. The last time I brought my son for his physical appointment, I did not even meet with his doctor, but a nurse practitioner, but yet, we are still charged the same price for the office visit. Not only that, but during the visit the nurse pulled a piece of dead skin from his foot and few weeks later we got the bill for separate "Office procedure" for the amount of $295 aside from the physical exam. At no point I was informed that would be charged as a separate procedure. I most certainly did not authorize this "procedure". I called to dispute the charge and after further review I was informed everything was billed correctly, so I have to pay the bill. I was refused further help and was treated quite disrespectful on the phone, so I gave up on trying to work things out. I just filed a complaint with The Attorney General and will also do the same with Better Business Bureau. I would not recommend this medical practice to anyone and would take my family to a different practice. I understand that the medical staff does not know the medical codes and procedures, but so as the patients. It is not the patient responsibility to try to figure out what would all the procedures be on the final bill and be worried if any questions would be billed as "conversation" (yes, they have a separate code for that as well). read more

Some of the departments run a little slow but I always get an appointment as quickly as possible. I loved the women's health staff, I was always seen within minutes of arriving, and they took care of me so well when I was pregnant that I now bring my son to their pediatrics department. His doctor is great, too. I would recommend them to anyone having a baby or looking for a pediatrician! The receptionists are always pleasant and I really love it here. One criticism I have might be when my baby had reflux he was seen by another doctor who was very nice and told us to call if it got worse. It got worse on the weekend - he threw a screaming fit for 2 days and I finally called for weekend advice to see if there was anything I should do. When the nurse called back she would barely speak to us because it wasn't an urgent matter. I felt a little blown off - I'm not a crazy mom who calls over every hiccup and bruise - he was clearly in pain and screaming at the top of his lungs for hours on end. I wouldn't have minded so much but when you call on a weekend the voice machine clearly says to press number 2 (I don't remember the actual number) for urgent care OR off-hours advice - which is what I needed! read more
