We were beyond thrilled to learn about Tova Health as I was nearing my last few weeks of pregnancy. I could tell from my initial call with Dr. Zasloff that her approach to care was nurturing and down-to-earth, and I trusted her immediately. Although I did not know at that point how my labor and delivery would be, I knew implicitly that getting out of the house in the middle of winter with a tiny new person would be challenging, and the idea of having an experienced doctor come to care for us in our cozy nest instead just seemed like a no-brainer: particularly given that her visits for both me and baby were covered by our insurance. Honestly, for that precious and brief window, we would have happily paid out of pocket if it had been necessary and considered it to be well worth the investment.
In the end, my labor and delivery were fairly traumatic, so I was even more grateful not to have to leave my home during the crucial first few months of recovery. Our little one also *hates* being in the carseat, so it was great not to have to subject him to (or ourselves) to unnecessary stress en route to doctor's visits for the first few months, and also to avoid potential exposure to other sick babies during cold and flu season. Dr. Zasloff even ended up coming to visit us in the hospital because our little one was born just before the Thanksgiving holiday. This was an "above and beyond" gesture that made us feel incredibly nurtured during an inherently stressful time. We quickly learned that this type of care is exactly what we could expect from Tova Health. Dr. Zasloff was a caring, reassuring, and responsive partner during our "fourth trimester", and I can't imagine having done things differently.
Recently, she has added a community aspect to her practice. It has been so valuable already to connect with other like-minded new families to share ideas, concerns and successes, and nice to have a thread of continuity as we transition from the fourth trimester into all that is to come. read more
