Grabbed sandwiches for some coworkers. Everyone loved their sandwich. The ladies were so nice when talking the order over the phone. Check out was quick and all workers are pleasant. Great little country store tucked away in God's Country. I liked the store, the woman behind the counter, $10.44 after tax and most of the roll. But the more I think about this cheesesteak; 1. it needed more cheese. 2. The mushrooms needed more grill time. 3. mushrooms and onions needed to be mixed with the meat and cheese better. read more

The sandwiches here are stellar. My family and I drive 25 mins each way just to get their cheesesteaks. I had a cheesesteak today with mayo, fried onions, and cooper sharp and it was out of this world. This place is a hidden gem in south jersey and well worth the drive. Only downside is that they don't take cards and also don't have an ATM on site, so def bring cash. read more

Stopped by here on the way home from a day trip in Cumberland County yesterday. We were starving and Anderson's was the first store we encountered on way back to the shore. We ordered a grilled cheese sandwich and a Buffalo Chicken Sub from the deli counter. I'd be lying if I didn't acknowledge that I was a little bit apprehensive at first being that this was a general store in the middle of literally nowhere - but once we received our order and brought it back to car, I was in total heaven. My girlfriend loved her grilled cheese and my sub was phenomenal. I was at a tennis tournament at Shalick High School and wanted to grab a little bite to eat. There are not a whole lot of options in this part of South Jersey, but I took a chance on Anderson's Country Store and I am glad that I did. Besides being convenient to Shalick, this spot is also convenient to Parvin State Park. Anderson's is not much to look at from the outside, but if it is anything it is authentic - this is truly a store out in the country. It is an old wooden building and was complete with 3 old guys drinking coffee on the porch. You walk in and are greeted with a main room full of pretty much anything that you might need - this is not just a convenience store, but a tiny little grocery store. In the back corner is a grill with the menu laid out on one of those old felt menu boards with the stick-in letters. I was greeted with a smile by three nice ladies and ordered a pork roll, egg, and cheese. My sandwich was made to order and served on a soft kaiser roll. As others have said, Anderson's does not take credit, debit, or checks. There is no ATM available on premises, but the Bank of Elmer has a branch about a mile up Centerton Road past Shalick High School. They charge $3 for an ATM charge if your are not a Bank of Elmer cardholder. You might think twice about stopping at Anderson's, but there is no need to do so - they will take good care of you. It is a lot quicker than driving 10 miles to Elmer or Route 55 to get what you need. read more

Andersons is the place that everyone from Pittsgrove and Upper Deerfield go to! Andersons is in an old building and still had the original flooring. So neat!! They have your basic one stop shop needs! Their food is absolutely amazing! My favorite are the cheesesteaks! The owners are just so sweet. They always treat my grandparents so special! Andersons has a ton of memories I'm sure for everyone. They do takeout only. I wish there was a little place to eat in the back but they never did that. Parking is great!
