I've emailed the company multiple times and have even followed up. They've offered no solution- to me that's unsatisfactory and unacceptable. It's not safe to eat an open product. I have fond memories of Andersons. Growing up, my parents used to get these gigantic Easter eggs. Now, my go-to are the chocolate covered strawberries. They are whole strawberries covered completely in chocolate, like the old Joseph Horne ones of my youth. No Shari's Berries or Anthony Thomas for me. I want Andersons. You are advised to keep them frozen. I live nearly 200 miles away, and it's summer. But I came prepared. I have one of those frozen grocery bags that you keep in the freezer and a big ice pack, and it all goes into my Trader Joe frozen food bag. This place is filled with chocolate. My only regret is I forgot to ask if they make a version of Annaclaires, a childhood favorite from Gimbels. read more

We have always loved Anderson's Candy. Especially peanut butter meltaways, and chocolate covered pretzels.

The chocolates are good. The mixed with nuts was excellent. Overall the quality was just great.

And I feel that it's as good as Sarris (please don't harm me, haha) The chocolate offered here is plentiful, from hot chocolate bombs, solids, pretzels, the oh-so delicious Chocolate covered Cordial Strawberries, and on and on! They also carry different candies, such as gummies and jelly beans! Oh, and I absolutely cannot forget they have numerous options for gifts and even offer really beautiful free gift wrapping! Anderson's makes the best chocolate in the whole world, period. I'm 65 years old and been enjoying it since I got chocolate Easter bunnies as a kid. I thought that when we went to Switzerland about seven years ago I would finally find something I enjoyed as much as Anderson's and was disappointed, it just doesn't exist. You can't beat it. I now live out of state and get the chocolate shipped to me, always no hassle and they get the package right out. I'm visiting PA this week and was in the store today to pick up some chocolate favor boxes for my brother-in-law's 50th anniversary that my wife is doing at our house. Everything was ready to go and of course I picked up a couple of my favorites which include the vanilla creams, my new favorite chocolate bar, the one with the pretzel bits, and chocolate pretzels. By the way you can get a wonderful candy bar for only a dollar at the store, or you can order these. Who doesn't love chocolate? And who doesn't love a good candy store? Anderson's is a good candy store. They started their business on Merchant Street in Ambridge back in 1916. Harry and his wife Mary and even their 3 children worked in the store back then. Son Harold took over the business in 1962 after Harry passed away. The Baden location opened in 1964 and has become the actual candy making facility and main retail outlet. And now the business is operated by Goldie Anderson and her daughters. Anderson's is also well known for their fund raising candy bars. People at my office are always selling them to help support local charities and organizations. In the store, they sell everything imaginable. Chocolate covered pretzels, oreos, cheese curls, marshmallows, raisins, etc. For holidays, they sell foiled covered balls, chocolate Santa on a stick and hard candy. You can pick your chocolates one by one, or by the box. They also sell Jelly Belly's, which I love. And it's always nice to come here to be able to pick up small bags of your favorite flavors. I was riding through Beaver County and saw this chocolate store on the side of the road. I had never before heard of Anderson's, but I stopped in. I bought several items. They all tasted very good. The peanut butter chocolates tasted very peanut buttery. The cherry chocolates had a strong cherry taste. The Irish potatoes have a cute appearance and coconut taste. The marzipan tasted good. I also bought a yummy chocolate-covered banana and jelly beans. They have a wide variety. read more

The Ambridge store closes at 5PM on Saturdays, but this one's open until 8. This is the store we have passed a bunch of times to and from Beaver Falls. I thought THIS Baden store was the Ambridge store. The GPS took us to the Ambridge store. Have a headache yet??? Sinful things cloaked in chocolate await thee; pretzels, marshmallows, caramel clusters, nuts, pineapple (!). Name it, and they have it dipped in their capable chocolate. They even have treats called Irish Potatoes, and you can get them dressed in chocolate as well or naked. I tried some naked ones courtesy of the courteous clerk. Coconut balls dusted with cinnamon: How is that Irish? :) No matter, 'cause I liked 'em. No seafood though. That would be wrong. Bacon might work out. read more

Candy Great ! website a nightmare ...could not pay with PayPal as a guest if I was sending to an address that is a different address from my billing address. Its Christmas !!! Pay pal would not process unless I signed up to join Pay Pal. Never !!! In the past Pay Pal did not honor the agreement to refund me on an insured package I purchased with their service from China. Lost $125.00 This time Anderson's lost $223.00 because of Pay Pal 's shady business practices. Last year Pay Pal changed the address to my Billing address and chocolate meant for my sister in Texas was sent to my summer home in NC. We were out of state, no one to receive the package. In addition .insufficient postage. Sat for 6 weeks in the post office. When I complained to Goldie she said she was not going to do a thing about it. Had to eat the postage and the candy. My wife ordered Anderson's candy for miscellaneous Christmas gifts through our church, St. Pamphilus church in Beechview.. She ordered some extra candy for me. I thought I died and had gone to heave. I've eaten a great deal of chocolate in my life [I'm 72} and Anderson's, by far is the best that I have ever eaten. As I got older,and my own family was stationed all around the country,I always ordered my milk chocolate from Anderson's. There is no chocolate I have found that can match the creamy purity of Anderson's. It is well worth the price. TWICE I ORDERED THE CANDY ON LINE AS A GIFT and twice the shipping address I entered was changed to my address instead of the address I input and verified after order to be sure i entered it right. I called and told Andersons of the problem but they refused to offer any type of compensation. Not only did they send it to the wrong address but I had to pay additional postage because the original postage was calculated on the correct address. Andersons online site uses paypal and if you use it as a guest and not a member they don't seem interested in resolving these issues. Two candy orders exceeding $56.00 ea., sent to an address which is vacant during our summer vacation months. Of coarse the post office wont forward it, and I am 4 hrs. away. read more

When I'm in the Pittsburgh area I stop in and am always greeted warmly and walk out with arms full of candy.
