I am totally impressed with the work done at my home! I had 2 pine trees and a very large branch (almost a tree itself) cut down from a different tree. They were courteous, professional, and efficient. The cleanup was not only the job site, but surrounding areas of where they brought pieces through and also where they parked. We needed our big White Oak Tree trimmed and elevated. It was first trimmed and elevated by Anderson back in October 2015. when they were here in 2019 to trim the hedges it didn't need to be trimmed again yet. The night before a mama squirrel carried her babies in her mouth into one of 2 nests in the tree. I told Anderson's crew, and they were extremely careful not to disturb the wildlife living in the tree. The tree looks beautiful, you can see through the branches, and that's where the wind can blow through so that when we get a nice powerful windstorm, the tree will not blow over! Everybody should get their trees trimmed and elevated. Anderson's crew were an hour early and their prices are always reasonable, not to mention the crew is wonderful, and they leave the yard looking better than it was when they got here. Used them again (round 3, I think), still A++, arrived early as per usual, worked fast, cleaned up wonderfully. There was a long backlog this time around but it didn't really matter to me so I wasn't put out by it (but I think they're done with whatever the backlog was for). I did say raze everything to the ground but I didn't expect they would also help me take out four barberry bushes that I had been dreading to remove because it's a thorny, personal hell but they did it and that was definitely the icing on the cake. I also requested they leave the wood chips so I can smother everything to prep for spring planting and they're even coming back to drop off another load tomorrow (one truck-full turned out to not be enough for everywhere I needed it to be.) I've hesitated writing this review because the office staff is friendly, the gentleman who does the estimates and the owner's son are pleasant, and the two guys with the cleanup crew are great. But my 50+ year-old privacy hedges have been decimated and are no longer private. The first time I used Anderson was several years ago to remove a tree. The price was competitive but my lawn was damaged by the crew dropping the trunks onto the lawn. I didn't know I had recourse and didn't say anything. The lawn still isn't back to what it was prior. Regarding my hedges, I walked the property with the crew chief and told him EXACTLY where I wanted the hedges cut. I walked away and before I knew it, my front hedges were cut so severely, so low and so unevenly that I am devastated and heartbroken. The sides don't even match. What kind of tree company does a job without having ladders? Theirs was broken so they used mine. The homeowner shouldn't be providing the equipment for a professional crew. I don't know what would've happened had I not had a ladder for them to use. My ladder was used on one of four sides. The other three sides were cut at where the crew member could reach; feet below where I requested. Three sides were butchered. Why? No ladders. On one side, opposite of where my ladder was used, the lead chopper whose name I will omit, asked if I wanted the hedges cut to my neighbor's fence, many feet below where I had instructed the crew as to where I wanted. I was shocked and at a loss and felt I was convinced to do it because he kept saying, "They will grow back. They will grow back." So, I trusted. He sat and stood and shimmied on my neighbor's new fence and proceeded to cut several feet - several - off my hedges. And now I realize why; because he didn't have a ladder and didn't want to wait for my ladder to be freed up on the other side as they had several jobs to get to, so rather than do the job correctly and to my specifications, he cut where he could reach. Several feet chopped off and gone. Who doesn't make sure all sides are matching? The back doesn't match. The front doesn't match. My hedges look embarrassing. My neighbors are stunned and I have cried over what I have been left with. Because all sections were done at once, it was hard to keep monitoring the entire crew. I trusted. But before I knew it, cuts were made and it was too late to go back. I don't want to hear that I seemed pleased or that I signed off on the job and paid. What else could I do? I can't glue my hedges back together. One would think I would have received some kind of refund for my ladder being the only one used during the job or for what my hedges now look like. But, no. The owner's son has been responsive to my concerns. He has promised that next year will be better. I will revisit these issues with him then. Always be on top of any crew that does work on your trees and hedges. And as a woman, do not be intimidated or talked into something you know in your gut is wrong. I need a tree removed but not sure after this experience. While Anderson listened to this latest experience I had with them, this is indefensible. I pray my hedges grow back. Unfortunately, I'll have to wait 12 months to see if my 50+ year-old hedges recover. Hopefully Anderson will invest in ladders by then. read more

I was in need of having a massive white oak removed. It was in between two houses, dead, and was a danger. In addition, another very large oak needed to be pruned back. Christian and his team at Anderson's Tree Service arrived on time, got to work immediately, and started the process. Clearly, they are a well-working team. Just received a phone call from Gina at Anderson tree service after my recent review below. She was unpleasant if not rude to me after reading my review. Now stated that Chris could fit me in this weekend. At the end of the conversation i told her it's not a good idea to be telling customers that they can't do jobs for two months. She responded that she would take my advise with a grain of salt. There are plenty of tree services that can do jobs within a week. I see no reason to put up with disrespectful personnel at Anderson. Use MJ tree service as below - they will be responsive and respectful and do a great job!. Had used Anderson before in 2016 and was very satisfied as below. However I received a recent quote to cut down another tree and was told by Wayne that there was about a two week backlog. He told me he would ask the office to fast track the job because the tree was rotted and was dangerous. When I called the office the next day after not hearing back from them I was told they couldn't do the job until Dec 18, two months away. I asked if they could fit me in sooner and was told that she would have to speak to Chris. Didn't hear back from them. I then called MJ tree service who quoted the job for less money and cut the tree down the next day, they also did an excellent job. I'm sure there are people who will wait two months for tree service but that's not what most people are looking for. read more

I was extremely happy after having Anderson cut down 2 trees and trim all the arborvitae's in my large yard . 1of the trees was extremely large and very close to my house all the men took the tree down very professionally and took care not to cause damage to anything in the area. Used Andersen's to take down some very large limbs which had wedged in a 30+ foot tree after a storm and do some trim work. Estimator came on time, and we had to wait about 3 weeks for work to be done. They called as promised to schedule. Workers showed up on time. The foreman noted that a tree we requested to have trimmed was rotted, and removed it instead without additional charge. It was amazing to see them cut and move limbs on ropes between a glass greenhouse and a rickety wooden structure - no damage and great teamwork. I originally planned to give them 4 stars, as they cut the tree and ground the stump as agreed, albeit in a rushed way with little regard for the surrounding lawn (more on that later), but I have little experience with this stuff and thought perhaps I had unreasonable expectations. The job was to cut down a 30ft Maple, grind that stump, and grind another old stump. I asked if they would "clean up after themselves" afterwards, and they said "the wood chips from the stump will be neatly left in the hole, but other than that we will absolutely clean up the debris". I should have been more specific. I was busy working from home so I couldn't watch them as closely as I would have liked, but I came up and watched a bit when they knocked to ask me for AA batteries (I believe they were for a remote control for the stump grinder?), and as they carted away large parts of the tree, they dragged them along the lawn and destroyed large parts of it, when simply having two of the six guys on site carry some of them would have saved most of what they destroyed (some branches I understand simply could not be carried). I know that damage will happen when cutting down a tree though, so despite the general laziness I was going to give them 4 stars as they cut the tree down for a good price, and a bit of lawn damage was expected. Then I got around to inspecting the work after they left, and what a mess. By no measure was the wood left neatly, there were piles of chips 10-15ft from the stump hole, dense enough that you couldn't see the grass underneath, and basically all branches less than 6ft were left all over the lawn, dispersed among the large tracks from the tree limbs they dragged instead of carrying. But perhaps the most egregious case of laziness was found later. As I dug up all the wood chips so I could put top soil and reseed in the spring, about 6 inches into the ground I find the two dead AA batteries. Seriously, wtf? Instead of disposing of them properly, when I replace your dead batteries, you chuck the dead ones in the hole in my lawn? I don't know much about batteries, but I know they have special disposal instructions for a reason and don't belong 6 inches beneath my grass. It would have taken 2 seconds to put them in your pocket or run them to your truck. What a complete lack of respect for your customer's property. I would not recommend them. I have no idea why six guys were there, because apparently all they did was cut the tree, take only branches larger than 6 ft away, do about 5 minutes of leaf blowing, and chuck their batteries into the hole in my lawn. read more

If you like getting rescheduled and then the 2nd appointment had to call to see if they were coming since they did not come. Now, with heavy rain I can understand that they are not able to perform services; however, to not call and advise us this is not only inconsiderate, but unprofessional. Then when we state that a call from them would've been nice, the lady who answers the phone calls back and then states that they we may not be the right fit for them. Who the hell does that?? Being canceled twice and the 2nd time not a courtesy of a call when we have had to take two day off to accommodate their schedule is crazy. No lady... you are not the right fit. These guys were great. After reading the online reviews my wife and I decided to take a chance with Anderson's Tree Service. While doing my due diligence, I read a lot of horror stories about people dealing with tree services, as I never had to call one before and didn't have references. I even had an estimator (from a different company) tell me when the foreman does a walk through with me, the day of the job, it could be a higher price than his quote but I won't pay till after the job so don't worry about it. Not Anderson's, they did everything the estimator promised and more and even left the yard cleaner then when they started. The crew chief, Doug, listened to everything I had to say.They were amazing. The guys that were in the trees were like surgeons with those chainsaws cutting unwanted and dead branches. I got a real kick out of the remote controlled stump grinder, but I like that kind stuff. The price was very reasonable (I'm a shopper). They showed up on time. They had an emergency in Nassau County so half the crew was by me in Suffolk County, about an hour or so later the rest showed up. I need to have 2 good size trees, one smaller one taken down and stumps ground down and a lot of elevating and pruning. We have a row of pine trees along one side of our property which they trimmed manually, they asked if the trimming met with my approval instead of just leaving and me being unhappy. As fast as the tree guys would cut the rest would clear and throw the cutoffs into the chipper. 3-1/2 hours of non stop work. I would never hesitate to call or refer this company for future work. They were very careful doing everything as not to damage anything. If it sounds like I'm on their payroll, i'm not. Being a long time homeowner who does most everything myself I know what a nightmare it could be contracting people you know nothing about. By the end of the job I felt like I've used them for years, I found them on the internet with the help of Yelp. If you need tree work done, call Anderson's you won't be sorry. read more
