Shannon Anderson and crew remodeled our kitchen in Spring 2024, and I am so pleased and relieved (a strange word, but remodeling is scary!) with the work they have done. Signing on with a contractor is always a leap of faith, especially when they're going to be remodeling something you depend on as much as your kitchen. From the jump, it was clear that Shannon and Greg were deeply invested in what *we* wanted for our kitchen--our project became their project. They were great listeners, great at offering ideas and suggestions, and leaving final decisions to us, and fabulous at bringing their expertise to bear when there was a better way of doing things we hadn't considered. I have been very fortunate in my life to have the opportunity to own several Buildings in California. Anderson Reconstruction was fantastic on being responsive and caring in their workmanship at one of our houses they worked on located in Claremont. Most of the work is done by Anderson Reconstruction with a few tasks subcontracted out to other professionals that they have developed long relationships. Their staff and subcontractors are long-term folks with the company. Greg who has been doing this work for Decades is a Master at planning and executing the plan, design, and at times doing the work. Shannon is creative and innovative and will always go the extra mile. What a sweet person to deal with and has a very artistic gift to help make things look beautiful. We had a huge amount of mechanical work to be done relating to our heating and air conditioning system as part of the remodel. With the issue of climate change, the temperatures are seemingly ever-increasing in Claremont and the surrounding region. What I am so pleased about is the system they designed and engineered for our home, works like a charm. On the hottest days, it is like living by the beach with the windows open. The old system was undersized, but they ensured that was corrected to properly size the correct system for our building. As with any remodel, there are always construction challenges that come up that need to be worked through. They have decades of knowledge to work through those details with success. They work hard to avoid problems in the first place. When the project is done, well if happiness is your goal, then this is the right company for you. If you do have a problem, don't hesitate to call them, as they are responsive and will absolutely identify, fix, and resolve any issue that might come up, but that is unlikely going to be needed because of their great work. Before this experience, I had planned on writing a book called, "They are All Nice Guys." After contacting Anderson and speaking with them, I was excited at the prospect of working with them. We found a mutual date for them to come out and provide an estimate. Just two days prior to my appointment, I received a voicemail cancelling the appointment indicating the project manager Shannon couldn't come and had to go in the field and they could reschedule first of the next week and also let me know that they would not be able to start the job until a month to month and a half out. Much to my regret, I returned the call to reschedule, was placed on an awkward hold and then told it would be two weeks for an estimate and two months before they could start. No one appreciates the run around or lack of consideration for the customer's schedule too. We found Anderson Reconstruction on Yelp and called them for an estimate to repair some siding and drywall that had been damaged by water. Greg and Shannon showed up on time and were very polite. They took a good look at everything that had to be repaired. They took photographs, measurements and notes. We had several questions for them and they answered them all. Right away we got a very good impression from them. Greg did some research and found out that the exact siding that was originally used for our house wasn't available anymore. He found a close match and told us before doing any work to make sure we were ok with it. His estimate was also much better than another company. On the day of the repairs, Shannon showed up with the crew (Gabriel and Isaac) and we all went over what was going to be done so everybody was on the same page and in agreement. Once they finished up at the end of the first day, they had us look at what they had done to make sure everything looked fine before they left and so they could answer any questions we might have. They told us a different worker would come the next day but would already know what had been done. On the second day, a different worker (Jose) showed up to finish up the texturing of the drywall. Before he started any work, we went over what Gabriel and Isaac had done the day before. When Jose finished his work he had us look at what he had done to make sure we were ok with it and to answer any questions. Gabriel, Isaac and Jose were polite and courteous. They cleaned everything up at the end of their work days. We were very impressed from beginning to end with the work they did for us. We'll definitely call them again if we ever need any work done. I had the pleasure to witness the incredible and dramatic changes Anderson Reconstruction accomplished with a Glendora property. If you can remember the homes on "Hoarders" reality show, this would have been on there. Anderson came in, completely demolished, deep cleaned, removed trash, rat infestation and feces. Not only did they do an amazing job removing unwanted guests, and cleaning out the property, they completely went above and beyond in remodeling the property! I had a flood under my kitchen sink and State Farm referred me to Anderson to rebuild my cabinets and redo my kitchen floor. We were debating doing a completely new kitchen with new cabinets and all, but this was the more economical for us at the time as State Farm was only going to give us $7k. I met Greg the owner after I met with a couple other restoration companies and decided to go with Anderson because they promised to be finished with everything within 3 weeks instead of 6 weeks. Mistake. They didn't do a very good job on our cabinet rebuild and refinishing at all. Actually it's an awful job. They took our whole bottom cabinet to their shop to rebuild the insides but 2 of the drawers that were initially water damaged are now broken again and the drawers don't open or close correctly. Tons of dings, dents and scratches all over all if the cabinets after their terrible stain job. You would think they would sand down our old cabinets more than just 4 hours but I guess not. I brought the issue up to Greg so they rectify the problem before they added on anymore layers of paint, but I guess he told his guys to ignore most of my post-it's that I put on the problem areas. It sucked that Greg never once came to our home to visually see the problems we were expressing about the cabinet job. He obviously didn't really care about our satisfaction and just wanted his $9,600 paycheck. The paint job on my walls was even shotty. There was green paint splotches all over my refrigerator and dining room hardwood floor that wasn't getting redone. Thanks for that. I will say that the tile job on my kitchen floor was decent, except for the upgrade we paid to have our bathroom floor done. There was a leak under our toilet because the tile wasn't laid flat and my husband had to pull up the tile and redo it. The best part of our kitchen is the granite. Their granite guy did a very good job and it looks really good. The worst part was the plumbing job or lack thereof that they were supposed to complete on their "final day" at my house. Their last day ended up being on a Friday and we were supposed to have a friends birthday party at our house that evening but apparently around 3:30pm they decided it was too late to hook up our plumbing and seriously left without hooking up our sink. Can you believe they were going to leave their customers without water until Monday! What a Joke! I text Greg about my disappointment that they couldn't stay at least another 2 hours to at least give us water but he ended up scolding me via text like he was my father and told me I was being ungrateful. Good thing my husbands a very handy man and was able too hook up our sink on Friday evening before our guests arrived. That would've been an awful party with no kitchen sink available. I don't think they ever had any intention of coming back to finish up all the loose ends. He ended up mailing me his final bill and I never saw one person again. I ended up deducting all the unfinished items from his final bill. Yes, he actually tried to charge me for the items my husband finished for them. Ridiculous! All in all I'm pretty disappointed with how my "new" kitchen turned out. I've had several people, including a home appraiser tell me how terrible our cabinets look. I'm pretty upset that I spent over $2500 of my own money to get an ugly kitchen. I wish we would've had the funds at the time to just get new cabinets and go with a better construction company. Now I'm out $10,000 and I gotta redo it anyway. Live and learn I guess. Last thing I wanna say, his assistant is very sweet, she left me a nice voicemail after they received my letter and final payment and she expressed that they were sorry that I was unhappy and wanted to rectify the problem so we wouldn't have a bad taste in our mouth about their services. She told me that Greg would be calling me the next day to go over my itemized list of issues. I never heard from him again. read more

They made everything so easy and my dining room came out above and beyond my expectations. On 9/3/14 a pipe burst overnight in the kitchen of my 105 year old property. This destroyed both kitchen and the dining room of my rental as well as rendering two bathrooms unusable. Being a single woman I was beside myself. After the dry down and necessary demolition of my kitchen/dining room I met with 4 contractors recommended by my State Farm inspector. Despite trying for multiple estimates, only one of them (Anderson Reconstruction (AR)) even provided me with a bid for the work. Greg Anderson proved to be a delightful professional. I approved the bid (which was exactly what State Farm had estimated) on Thursday and Monday at 8:30 a.m., the Anderson Reconstruction crew showed up. Greg estimated it would take 3 weeks to complete the job. For the next 2 weeks AR was there everyday. They were incredibly professional, worked quietly, apprising me of their progress and any options I had as to finish work (which was remarkable), left the job site in immaculate condition daily and finished a week early. Every aspect of the work from cabinetry to granite work to painting was exemplary. The day after they'd completed the work another crew came and removed all traces of construction from my yard. I had the pleasure of working with Greg and his team when I helped a friend gather bids and see through the completion of a bathroom remodeling project. My friend had no interest in collecting bids so I volunteered to do it for her as I have been through the process previously. I did my homework and used a variety of online reference sources to decide who to call. I scheduled 6 bids one day and at the end of the day my gut told me Greg was the guy for us. I tend to be very analytical and Greg could not have been more patient in listening to our plan for a straightforward bathroom makeover and then he made suggestions on ways of keeping the project within our limited budget. Of the other 5 that responded, well make that 4-one was a no show, two didn't show much interest in trying to work with us within our budget and the other two submitted bids that was in excess of 200% over our stated budget. It came down to them wanting to do it their way, that is a complete remodel (tearing it down to the studs and starting over) as opposed to utilizing existing components that still had plenty of use and life. So selecting Greg was a no-brainer, and he was equally easy to work with in terms of scheduling the work. As this is the only full bath in the home, he worked with us over the holidays when the kids were out of school and the daily showering routine was flexible. One more thing worth mentioning-he is very polite, and as I get older I realize in most cases that says a lot about the character of the individual. His workers were on time, quiet and courteous. Greg's office staff were equally pleasant and professional, answering the phone every time we called and contacting him as needed or following up with us when required. So unless you have an unlimited budget and would prefer someone else decide the final product, do yourself a favor and contact Greg, at least to get a bid for your next project. During the February storm had a major tree fall which caused a lot of damage to both the attached Carport/patio and building entry. The Carport/Patio built to 1970 codes had in effect be replaced at greater cost to meet LA County 2017 Building Codes. Fortunately Anderson had experience with the Insurance Carrier to the extent that the quote formatting was the same as the Insurance carrier which approved these additional greater costs without objection after excepting the original quote for all their structural work. Even on says we couldn't personally be there to oversee construction, the crews were punctual, courteous, and left absolutely no trace of their presence in the rest of our house. I put off remodeling my kitchen and bath for years because of horror stories I'd heard about deceitful contractors, shoddy workmanship, projects dragging on or never being completed, and because of the mess and disruption associated with these projects. Greg and his crew showed up promptly to assess the project and provide an estimate. Though the kitchen was a fairly straightforward project the unique part of the project was that I wanted to order the cabinets myself then have Greg's team install them, which he agreed to do and have completed in two weeks. Every aspect of my project was painless and completed beyond expectation. Greg took delivery of the cabinets at his warehouse so I didn't have to lift boxes or take up space in my garage; one cabinet needed to be exchanged and Greg completely managed the exchange. As far as messiness, there was none! The day of the demo, plastic sheets were hung to mitigate construction dust, floors were protected, and every scrap from the demo was gone at the end of the day. The timeline was not met, but it was my fault; I couldn't decide on a counter top. So that I wouldn't be without the use of my kitchen, I came home to find plywood counter tops installed and my sink and faucet reinstalled to make do until I made a decision on the counter top of my choice. Greg and Shannon were very professional and up front with the work and cost of the project. I have used Greg and his crew multiple times and I finally decided to write them a review! My initial reason for calling Greg was due to a terrible water damage I had in my kitchen about a year and a half ago. A pipe burst underneath my sink while I was gone overnight and I came home to a half sunken first floor (not really but you know what I mean). The kitchen was gutted and all my wood floors removed. It was pretty terrible. Greg and his crew are amazing and are always polite and clean. They showed up everyday just as he promised until the work was done. The kitchen turned out beautiful!! Since then, I've had him redo my patio in the back and my master bathroom. I'm so happy to have finally found a great contractor. read more

We highly recommend Anderson Reconstruction for the excellent work they did on our house following a significant flood from our washing machine. Shannon Anderson, our project manager, was quick to provide knowledgeable and helpful responses to our questions or concerns. Shannon's work team was comprised of skillful, efficient, friendly, tidy, and dependable people who were respectful of our home. While the project seemed big and very important to us, it was clearly not the biggest project Anderson was working on at the time, but Shannon always made us feel like our job deserved her attention and expertise. We did quite a bit of comparison shopping before we selected Anderson Reconstruction and we found their prices to be fair. Shannon quickly earned our confidence and trust. We had a little accident at my home. My newly licensed son accidently drove his car into the side of our house. The stucco and interior wall was damaged. I called Greg once again who recently did my entire bathroom. His company once again did a fantastic job. Cant even tell any damage ever existed and came in under budget. I am writing this review for my mom, who had her entire kitchen remodeled through Anderson Reconstruction. We were referred to them by a friend, and were extremely happy with their level of service. We were able to get an appointment next day after calling them. Greg, the owner, gave us a fair estimate and constantly updated us throughout the process. Very professional crew, and made it easy for us for our family to live alongside the construction. No surprises when the bill came either. And my mom loves her beautiful new kitchen! I partnered with Anderson Reconstruction on a major remodel/resell project. This house was in terrible (I mean terrible) shape and needed to be almost completely gutted and rebuilt. We redesigned the floor plan to give us a more open design, reconfigured the master bathroom, added a laundry room, opened up and redesigned the kitchen, new windows throughout, new roof, landscaping.. you name it, we did it. Overall, working with Anderson Reconstruction was an awesome experience. Greg has been a general contractor for over 35 years so he knows it all, literally, he has an answer for just about every question. Shannon was in charge of design and managing the project and she did an excellent job picking out all of the right pieces to make the house look and feel like a home. All of the work was done in-house by their crew and as you can see from the pictures, they did an outstanding job. Going into this project we had a "fixed" budget but as the project went on that number increased. Not because we were careless with our funds but because we cared about the way this house was built and appeared. Shannon only allowed for quality materials and fixtures, even the drywall throughout is skim coated to give the house a modern and clean feel. Anderson Reconstruction won't put their name on mediocre work and that goes for even a project they know they are going to sell. In the end, the house was only on the market for 7 days and we accepted an offer for 10k over asking price. I had the opportunity to use Anderson Construction last month for repairs. From the time I placed my phone call I was impressed right away. I got a return call telling me about what time and date that there employee would be at my house. Greg Anderson came and gave us a detailed price and time frame to do our job. The work was done in a timely manner and was even done a day ahead of time. Quality work but his employees from start to finish. When the work was complete they have a women that came and cleaned the entire area so there was no clean up for me at all. I can say without reservation that Greg and his team will go beyond your expectations. I have used them 3 times over the past 5 years for major jobs involving a rental property. Greg and his team have been consistent with their work, are very timely and finish the job and cleanup afterwards. They are honest and prices are reasonable and they will give you a range of options depending on your goals for the property and work. Once more, Anderson Reconstruction has exceeded my expectations. I had them out for concrete work at my house, the old concrete was cracked and lifted from roots. The owner (Greg) met with me and went over my options. After we agreed on the scope of work and the price, Greg has his crew to my house on the day and time agreed to. Anderson had the work done and area cleaned by end of day as promised. I cannot say enough about the excellent service and craftsmanship demonstrated by Greg and his crew! I rent out a 1 bathroom property in Glendora which needed the bathroom redone. Not only did Greg create a design providing more space, but he and his crew completed the job in 5 days to limit inconvenience to my tenants! They were all so professional, friendly, and did the work with a minimum of disruption.
