I already knew it was out. I wasn't asking them to "diagnose" it like it was some mystery problem. They charged me $57 for the oil change, then turned around and charged me $180 as a "standard service fee" just to tell me the pump was out and needs replaced... which is exactly what I told them when I walked in. When I brought it up to Kevin (service advisor) and asked what that $180 even covered, he said they might check wires and connections but when I asked what they actually did on MY vehicle, he had no idea. How are you a service advisor and you can't explain what was done, but you're still forcing a $180 charge? Kevin was also rude as heck about it. This is exactly why auto shops have the reputation they do because places like this will charge you almost $200 for nothing and act like you're the problem for questioning it.

I've been having some terrible luck with cars for the past year!…read more Background Story: Back in Sept of 2016, I got a car from a private dealer. A 2001 Lincoln LS. It had problems from day 1! It overheated constantly! There was no real way to fix it. My dad tried many different things, including installing a new fan for the engine. Luckily with winter, with the heater running high constantly, it wasn't as big of a deal. Back in January, I noticed there were some issues with the steering so I took it to a family mechanic. Then, it happened. The car ended up needing the entire front replaced due to a detached ball joint, broken knuckle, and broken arm. I decided to just let the car go. I was done. I then decided I would never buy from a private dealer ever again! So, while looking through some cars online, I ran across B&D Auto. They had a car that I was interested in and were able to set up an appointment with me so I could test it out. My parents and I went to the Cornhusker location and met with Dirk, one of salesmen. He gave us the keys for the car I wanted to test out. I drove it and I just didn't feel like it was the car for me. Dirk was very kind and his coworker Cody, also assisted with trying to find me a car within my budget. Dirk then found 3 other cars for me to test out on the road. I drove the first one that Dirk found for me and it felt like a better fit, but I still wasn't feeling like it was for me. I then test drove a 2004 Chrysler 300. It was amazing! It drove great and I loved the fact that the back seats folded down to give more space if needed. My dad listened to the engine and it sounded smooth. My main thing was the overheating! "Please don't overheat!" That was my main thought. The thermostat stayed at a normal level, even with the AC running! I was so so relieved! I then knew that this my car! It was in my budget and it was and is a nice looking car! I decided to buy it and made sure to contact my banker! I was able to get my loan and signed the paper work! The same day, I got the car, it did have some issues. I called Dirk immediately and he was very responsive! He asked me what happened and when I told him, he told me to bring the car in so that their mechanics could take a look. I took the car in and he gave me a loaner vehicle to drive. I did get the car back after the necessary repairs were completed. I was so happy because I was treated so well by the whole team at B&D! I would gladly by another car from them and I most likely will when I decide to upgrade! I cannot say enough on how much I appreciated their patience with me and their overall customer service! Per Mercedes-Benz policy, the car was towed to the Lincoln dealership. It took five business days to determine whether our warranty would cover the tire. When we picked the car up, the service writer told us he could not and would not address the damage caused by the jack failure. His reason was that we purchased the vehicle from the Omaha dealership, so Omaha would have to fix it. This was a Mercedes-Benz vehicle at a Mercedes-Benz dealership, damaged by Mercedes-Benz equipment. Even so, there was no willingness to discuss the repairs, options, or what our out-of-pocket cost might be. The message was essentially, "Just get your new tire and go." To be fair, the tire was replaced under warranty. But the lack of customer service was astonishing, especially given what we've already spent here. The Omaha dealership took the same car and made it right without hesitation. Unfortunately, we don't expect to bring my wife's G63 back to Lincoln.
