So excited to eat at the new Anderson, but I missed the little cute bakery that used to be here

Pricey but yummy. Great service. We had the pesto cheese bread, chocolate croissant, and raspberry cream cheese danish. Everything was so fresh. The pesto bread literally crunched and crackled with each bite. Delicious! They had fully stocked shelves of lovely offerings. Plenty of indoor and outdoor food tables. Parking is easy and you can walk to Trader Joe's. Highly recommend.

    Japanese chiffon cupcake

I've been wanting to try their Japanese chiffon cupcakes.. I ordered two lady and went to work. During lunch, I took one out to eat and the strawberry was moldy!!! Are you serious? How long have those cakes been sitting there?

A ripoff! We ordered the hot sandwich that had turkey and pepper jack and avocado where the bread was soggier than a bad day at the office. Our BLT had TWO pieces of bacon (silence). Never going back. My dog could whip up a better sandwich.

Andersen Bakery, San Ramon: 2024 Jul 30 (3.66 of 5) The food looks better than the taste. The empanadas are cold and dry (3 of 5). The Crème Brulee tastes good but the top is too thick (4 of 5). Service: The service gets a high 4. Overall, this averages a 4 for me.

Edges of bread very chewy, day old? Center had sweetened cream cheese, soft bread.

Andersen Bakery opened in Crème Si Bon's space. Small service counter, 2 counters contained baked goods. No seating inside. 3 tables outside. Clean space looks smaller than before. Quickly serviced by 2 Latinas present. Offerings: various sandwiches, soups, salads, cheese board combos, pastry covfefe combo. Buys: pastry covfefe combo (6.75) -decided to get this since hard to make up mind. Crowd formed soonafter. -servers patient in explaining what pastries were in the offer, though they didn't know in the beginning. -Angie Dickinson is Peet's Coffee's best though it tasted watery today. Smooth, not much body... -Cream Chez Walnut bread was too chewy around the edges, may have been a day old. Looked like wheat bread. 3.5,stars not much better of a special, only saved 50 cents?

    Too good to go bag

I paid $7.50 for a Too Good To Go surprise bag and what I received was shocking--everything was stale, dried out, and clearly past its prime. The food was so old and unappetizing that I had to throw it all in the trash. This is not about expecting gourmet quality at a discount--it's about basic food safety and integrity. The whole point of this app is to prevent waste, not pass it on to customers. I felt ripped off and honestly a bit sickened. Please don't waste your money here. You're better off buying something fresh elsewhere or supporting businesses that actually respect the idea behind this program.

A brand new bakery. It was sad to know Creme Si Bon is gone. But happy to see Andersen bakery nearby my house opens a store here. Store is clean and organized. Staffs are new. Trainings are in progress. It's understandable. I wish they could have some seatings and more drinks options. Overall, not a bad option for quick grab n go place.

I've been to the other locations but this is a new setup to pick your own pastries. This location is much smaller/cramped. One table inside and rest are outside. I was in the neighborhood and just wanted to try it. I got my usual, jalapeño bread and clam chowder soup to go. The lady at the counter was sweet. PASS on the clam chowder soup next time. It looked disgusting. I opened it, it was clumpy and oily. I don't know why but I tried it and it was sour and spit it out immediately. Next time I'll just get the bread and pastries since I can see how it looks.

Found this place yelping while hanging out at Bishop Ranch Center. This bakery is not too far from the city center. It's located next to Trader Joe's. This bakery has a variety of different pastries. I ended up getting the pesto cheese bread, the fruit pastry, and walnut cheese pastry. All of them tasted very good to me. The fruit pastry was good because all of the fruits were fresh and also the dough had those nice air gaps made it soft. The walnut pastry was decent and you can taste the walnut in the dough. The pesto pastry is better when warmed up, though I feel that the cheese could have been more flavorful or at least had more saltiness but instead was more neutral. The service here is ok. The two people that were there the day I went were friendly, though for one English is their second language and it was hard for them to understand what I was saying when I tried to converse with them. But that's ok. Prices are average and typical of what other bakeries in the Bay Area are pricing pastries these days. BTW they open at 8AM which is a bit inconvenient for me because I typically like to start my day earlier and I would end up not being able to go here until I get off work. Overall all the pastries were good, probably not the best I've had but for the area and for the convenience being not too far off the freeway I'd say this place is very decent.

Hmmmmm...what a disappointment. Staff was very rude. My hubz went yesterday and purchased a few items. This afternoon, we came by to support a new business again. The two female employees were rude and they were out of most of their items. I understand it was a little later; but, the small interaction I had was a disappointment. I will say understand your customers and demographics. They were friendly to two older haole ladies; but, dismissive of others. That is not tolerable. Perhaps it was a "one off"; but, based on this, they lost potential loyal customers. I'll make the drive to Dublin to Paris Baguette and Tous Le Jous.

I'm happy to see the Japanese brand Andersen Bakery here in San Ramon. This store is located at Market Place on Bollinger Canyon. They have Japanese style bread variety such as an pan (red bean paste bun) and curry pan, but also carry a lot of other general baked goods too. The matcha brioche was extremely inviting. Their fruit pies are really good - they gave us a free sample to try their delicious fruit pies and we totally fell for it and bought one. I also really like their Cream Cheese Walnut - so cheesy, creamy, nutty and sweet. Staff was very nice and friendly, and the customer service here was top notch. Highly recommend.

I tried their pick up option online so I could order and pay without waiting. The app even tells when your order is ready. I decided to build my own sandwich and ordered a roast beef and turkey sandwich on Dutch crunch with everything. Picked it up to a friendly greeting and smiles from all of the staff. Took it home to eat and wow this was a huge sandwich and full of ingredients. Unfortunately I noticed quickly it was all turkey and no roast beef. They forgot my meat. I sure hope they get it right next time. I should say that even without my roast beef this was an incredible tasty sandwich. Every bite got better and better. I honestly can say I haven't had a deli sandwich as good as this in a very long time. Probably the best Dutch crunch roll ever and so soft with the perfect amount of crunch and sweetness on top. This sandwich was pure heaven and so big but I was hungry and wanted to go right back for another. Still one of the best sandwiches in the Bay Area and I'm so glad there finally in my hometown of Pleasanton. I'll be back soon and very often I guarantee! It's a must try if you're in the area or even if it's a bit of a drive. Tell em Scotty sent you.

I love that the calorie counts are included on the menu, and the portions are just right. The service also reminds me a little of Trader Joe's customer service. Everyone is usually super smiley, personable, and genuinely helpful. If something isn't quite right, they'll actually try to make it right instead of making you feel like you're being difficult. My usual order is the Avocado & Quinoa Salad, with the "Not So Fried" Chicken sandwich or salad-style version as a close second. I also really like that you can turn any sandwich into a salad. If you order in person, the staff will usually let you choose from several different salad mixes, which I wish was also an option in the app. The seasonal menu is probably one of my favorite things about Mendo because there's always something new to try. A few summers ago I had a spicy prosciutto and peach sandwich that was honestly out of this world. It's still my favorite sandwich I've had here, and every summer I hope it makes a comeback. I may or may not think about that sandwich more often than I should. The 1/2 sandwich option is also great when I want something smaller since it comes with a side. I just wish there were more salad choices besides the kale and apple rainbow salad. On colder days or when I'm feeling under the weather, the lemon chicken and farro soup is excellent comfort food. And the basil pesto shells are my boyfriend's favorite side, so those almost always end up in the order too. There's a few tables outside, which I prefer when the weather's nice. Inside, just beware of the grassy bench seating because I've definitely run into a few sticky spots there.

Self-depreciation joke aside, let get straight into this review. My wife and I were looking for a place for lunch and wanted something on the lighter side. Ive been meaning to try this place out and was very glad that I did. This place actually makes eating healthy fun and is very delicious. Life is about balance and I certainly cant always have fries and cheeseburgers. I mean, I could but I'd pay the price. I didnt feel like I was making any big sacrifices with the steak sandwich. It wasn't heavy like a cheesesteak would be and I was satiated. What I didnt expect, however, was enjoying the salad more than the steak and bacon sandwich. Excuse my english but Holy Shitballs, this was a very tasty salad and everything tasted so fresh. Salads are supposed to taste fresh so, you can tell I dont eat salads very much by the way I am describing it but man, I could eat this salad multiple times a week! I am trying to make healthier decisions, it's not easy but every little bit counts.

First of all, the ambience of this shop is really cool. They have a bunch of specialty grocery items all around the store of stuff that I've never seen before. The staff was super friendly and everyone really seemed passionate of what they were doing. It gave off a homey/cozey vibe. The sandwiches my wife and I tried were the Loaded Market Special, Market Special and the Padrino. Everything was well put together and all the ingredients complemented one another. Our favorite out of the 3 was the loaded Market Special. If you like a little spice I would highly recommend trying this one. The lettuce and sauce balanced out the saltiness of the pastrami and the bread was fresh. The cheese was nice and gooey and gave off a perfect pull. The size of the sandwich was perfectly sized. Not too big and not too small. If you're on a time crunch I'd recommend ordering ahead on the phone as they can get a little busy.

Unfortunately, we were pretty disappointed with our experience. We ordered the exact same sandwiches we had seen featured on TikTok, but what we received looked noticeably different and honestly wasn't nearly as impressive. The sandwiches were fine, but for the price, I expected a lot more, especially after seeing what was advertised online. I also found the experience at the sandwich counter a little underwhelming. I've seen several Yelp reviews mention how welcoming and friendly the staff are, but that unfortunately wasn't my experience. No one acknowledged me at the counter, even though they weren't particularly busy at the time. It just didn't feel very welcoming.
