Head Spas have been a trend and my sister gifted me a gift certificate to Andalia. Currently, Andalia has 4 locations in Georgia. I was confused with the Sandy Springs location because I've driven by this address many times and didn't see a sign. I've learned that this particular location is inside Salons by JC.
The spa experience is what I imagine as a futuristic spa day: ambient lighting, faux fireplace and of course the massage lounge chair. The massage chair was nothing like I've experienced. It was like fitting myself into a mold with a place for my legs and my arms and the machine actually massages each limb and backside.
Pros:
- Clean, new individualized space
- Discovered I like the smell of lemon verbena
- I thought my specialist was just going to rough-dry my hair but she did a really good job of styling my hair
- I liked the scalp treatment using scalp brushes and the shampoo/conditioner left my hair feeling really silky and moisturized
Cons:
- I added on the chopstick scratching. It wasn't what I expected and really didn't do too much for me
- While I did fill out the form about my sensitive skin, the specialist didn't ask me much and I probably should have emphasized that I have sensitive areas on my face/neck that cant handle all products. I ended up feeling really itchy (and this happens to me too when I get a massage that all the rubbing increases blood circulation for me that I start to itch) that I needed to shower and rinse off everything once I was home. Again, to emphasize: this is me and my body. Does not apply to everyone.
I probably won't do this again just because my skin can't handle this stuff but I did enjoy the hair experience. read more
