I did not. a few mins later, Nina, my masseuse, knocked on the door then walked in when i was ready. perfect timing. she was polite and immediately went to town on my aging muscles. she gave me the full 60 min massage, down to the minute. she was thorough, had the perfect timing for kneading, and she was very strong! i usually have to ask for more pressure but I was glad I didn't because once she put on the oil, she ramped it up. it was also so quiet and calming. the room was perfectly lit. the music volume and tone was perfectly set. the room was neutral and non distracting. it was clean and well maintained. the energy was just exactly what I needed. some of the higher end places are just doing too much with the decor, lights and trinkets. it's distracting and overwhelming. but this place has done it perfectly! the entire experience was amazing top to bottom, front to back. I have visited Mays massage several times in the past and have received good service. Today I stopped in at 2 o'clock to see if they had any openings for a foot massage. The gentleman told me that I could come back in an hour. I noticed that they were open until 10 and asked if they could see me at 6:00 I confirmed with him that I would be seen at 6 o'clock. I returned at 6 o'clock. There were no other customers receiving foot massages, but the gentleman told me no he couldn't see me. I was so disappointed since I could have gone somewhere else earlier in the day, he was dismissive and really not interested in helping. read more

I went for the first time today for a one hour foot massage. It's $45 and it's supposed to include a 10 minutes soak which I did not receive. When I walked in everyone was like oh you have a an appointment what's going on when I had called 45 minutes prior to make an appointment. Immediately after I sat down, I was enticed to get pushed on a $10 add-on for a scrub, but I said no. My service is great, but it wasn't limited to my feet. I am so excited about finding Mays. I used to travel all the way to Buford and bear Piedmont Park for a good foot massage but no more. Mays is Top notch and the pricing is very reasonable considering what you get. Today my wife and I did the 1 hr. foot massage with exfoliation and it was fabulous. $50 bucks so worth it. Scheduled 4 1hr foot massages for myself, husband, brother, and sister in law. They set us up in a room immediately to right past front lobby. Chairs were so comfy. Music was soothing. We had added the foot scrub to our foot massages and the scrub was so wonderful. They all had such wonderfully strong hands and really did a great job. The last little bit of our time the massaged our shoulders. We felt great and so relaxed when we were done. I very much recommend this place. I have not received a full body massage but if it is like the foot massage I would assume it is just as great. read more

My boyfriend and I went to get couples massages yesterday and I am still in pain. We went yesterday afternoon for a couple's deep tissue massage since we had been in a car accident about a month ago and thought it would be nice to treat ourselves. As the massages began, the young gentleman I had, never asked how hard I prefer my massage. For reference, I like about medium pressure, not too light but certainly not too firm and hard. With that being said, within minutes of beginning the massage, I was in pain. I gave the gentleman the benefit of the doubt and thought he may have found a big knot in my neck and that was the reason for his hard pressure. However, I soon realized this was not the case; he was going to be this firm the entire massage. Because of this, I asked the gentleman to please be gentler, but he did not understand what I was saying. Finally, after saying it was too hard and painful, the lady doing my boyfriend's massage helped translate for him.             After initially leaving once our appointment was over, I felt fine, but as the night progressed, I quickly realized I was bruised from the appointment. I had my boyfriend check my back and take pictures and he quickly confirmed that my back, neck, and hips are bruised. I had the hardest and most miserable time sleeping because any slight pressure on my neck or back is very painful and it even hurts to drive just from sitting in a seat.             We have had a couples' massages before at a different location in Kennesaw and they were wonderful, so I know what a proper massage should feel like. In addition to this, even I did like a firm massage (which I do not) he should not be applying enough pressure to bruise someone's entire back and neck. Overall, since my boyfriend enjoyed his experience, if you do visit this location, I would not recommend the young gentleman working there. read more

I said ouch several times during my session and the massage therapist said "no pain no gain." there was a lot of pulling and bending and stretching that was very uncomfortable. the massage was rough. This was my second time yesterday and they really made such a difference in my day. Many times I get a massage and can't figure out why it cost so much. I realized that I needed to come here if I needed to feel better and not wonder where my time and money went. Unlike other places, when you walk in don't expect to have a full blown conversation about pressure and what is comfortable. They are prompt and get started immediately. Because I have been dealing with knots for some time, I asked for an additional half hour and aromatherapy to make my skin feel hydrated. From start to finish, I could not ask for a better masseuse and it was intense at some point but I did mention to them that I needed deep tissue. This is a place for individuals who need to have serious work done on their backs and legs. I will remember to call them first when it is time to tune up my aching muscles all around. I really wanted to give May's five stars but couldn't due to the two obnoxious customers who blabbed loudly in the next room for the first half of my massage. There are signs taped to the walls that say to keep your voice down. My masseuse fully acknowledged how loud they were being and instead of kindly asking the ladies to be quiet, she tells me, "Sorry, they are almost done and will be leaving soon". I had to sit there for a half hour listening to them talk about their first world problems like where they should go for Spring Break and how stressful mornings are getting their crotch fruit to school. It was hardly a relaxing experience and by the time they were gone, I only had 20 minutes left on my massage. Bottom line: I feel like an employee should have intervened and told the women to keep their voices down. read more

They were very sweet and professional. As for the back massage...I came out with more pain than I went in with. The massage was very uneven, focusing on one side much longer and with more tact than the other. I didn't have a deep tissue or anything and for some reason I'm still hurting (not sore, hurting) 4 days later. For $100 I was expecting a bit higher quality. I love this place. My two daughters-in- law and I wanted a relaxing massage while our husbands were at a GT football game. I read on the Nextdoor app about how great this place was. I will definitely go back to. First they were able to accommodate all three of us at the same time, which other spas were not. I had a woman named Anna and she was GREAT. Everything I needed. It reminded me of massages back in Thailand and Cambodia where they're really hands on and take all your knots out. (It will hurt). But I didn't come to a reflexology massage to feel relaxed. I came to fix my body. I felt her moving the chi around and the negative toxins leaving my body. This new location on Mays just opened minutes from their house and we decided to give it a try on a rainy Sunday. The room was dark and quiet. All 3 of us received wonderful reflexology massages, about 40 minutes focused on feet and legs in a reclining chair. The last 20 you turn around and sit on the ottoman while they work on your neck, shoulders, and back. It's blissful. They of course have other options including additional time, full body massage, aromatherapy. I hope to sample them all! read more

I went in for a foot massage and it was so relaxing I decided to tack on a full body massage. I didn't expect a lot of bells and whistles based on the price but ended up getting the best massage of my life including hot towels and stones. I've been going to May's in E.Cobb since they opened for both foot & full body massages. The massage therapists use techniques that are always consistent ( good training ) so I know what to expect. It's a relaxing place and they make a good effort to keep noise level to 0 or very low in the foot massage area. Great that it's near me. I like May's & recommend trying them. read more
