Seems at any moment I see the on sight service and maintenance people helping someone with something as simple as can we get some extra paper towels or can you help us on how to work this or that. Each time I ever had a question the property manager Laura was there with answers. The entire grounds are spotless. Pool is cleaned and serviced each morning and being directly on the sand it's just steps from the beach Oh and it's a heated pool as well. I feel when I come home from work I am stepping onto a beach resort like no other. Security there to make me feel safe and a smile from everyone as I walk to my unit. It is a joy to live there and see all the visitors world wide so happy to visit Pier Point South.

Unfortunately, we had wanted to leave upon arrival after initially inspecting the rental. The listing and reality were completely different. There was stained furniture and bedding, we ended up finding mold around some windows. A broken closet door, inoperable sliding pocket door, unusable top bunks of bunk beds. The entrance doors had large gaps between the frames and doors. The paint job inside was cheap, sloppy, lazy. Kitchen cabinets had a large amount of chipped paint and rusted hinges. I have a large number of photos as proof. I reported this cleanliness and maintenence issues after our arrival inspection. The host basically called me a liar and said he wanted to see proof even though I sent him pictures and he claimed to have just done an inspection shortly before our arrival. If we weren't more than 17 hours from home with no other place to stay we would have left right after we inspected it. The host even mockingly said he would give me a discount for a return visit if I ever wanted to come back after trying to work things out with him. I am sad and disgusted and feel robbed of my hard earned vacation time and money. The house wasn't even as close to the beach as was claimed. I truly would love to be able to give 0 stars, but that is not allowed so they get 1 star. If I have to fish for something to account fir the one star I guess I could say...hmm...it had a nice microwave? ​Oh I almost forgot to mention the bathroom. It was far smaller than described. I am not tall and the shower head at max height touched my head. I could also not sit facing forward on the toilet due to how close it is to the shower.

The amenities were great, except because we were a lot of people we ran out of some things, which they said may happen. So be prepared to bring extra garbage bags, toilet paper, paper towels, napkins, and such. Any issue we had, very minor things, I texted and it was resolved immediately. The view of the sunrise in the morning was so pretty. It was cold but the kids walked to the beach anyway, which was very close. My grand daughters were there and they had a baby gate and portable crib which was very useful. It was very clean and the couch was crazy comfortable!

Fine at a Busy Time of Year…read more I wanted to go to St Augustine's "Nights of Light" celebrations and activities. Due to health issues, I didn't get to book as far in advance as I would have liked. When I did book, there weren't a lot of options in the B&B category. At Journey's End was on my list of places I would try and they did have a room for my 3 nights. I chose the Howard Carter since it is in the original house and has a large balcony to sit on. At Journey's End isn't a B&B in that they don't serve breakfast. B&Bs will also often have a little happy hour. And the hosts live in the home as well. So there are opportunities to meet other travelers and get info from the host. Here a manager comes in for a short period mid-day to clean rooms. I don't really care for AirBnBs for the same reasons--no one around and no other travelers. Anyway, our room was a bit snug, but did have a large bathroom and a large deck. I tried to sit in the common rooms downstairs to do some desk work but it was so warm I had to retreat upstairs where it was cooler. All in all, the place is nice, but doesn't really meet what I want in accommodation.
