Anchor 66. A true burger dive.... If you are traveling Historic Route 66, the stretch between Bristow and Chandler Oklahoma, you have a weeks' worth of meal options to choose from. Here is one of those outstanding options. A fine little roadside burger joint that has a well-established, justified reputation for putting out memorable burgers, fries and rings. Meals that the burger aficionados talk about on Facebook. A mandatory start to your meal is the corn ribs. A corn on the cob, cut in quarters long ways, grilled, seasoned with something called Payne County Rust, and finished with a sprinkle of queso fresco. Oklahoma Elote on the bone, if you will. Butter it up with a little of the cilantro lime aioli. Very tasty and rich. If you decide to eat the cob (not recommended), chew it up thoroughly or you will be in for a rough ride tomorrow. Anchor 66 has a variety of burger variations. I like to keep my burgers simple and in their natural state. Grandma Retha is the one. A big smashed beef patty with cheese, finished properly with LTPO+M, no mayo, no ketchup. It comes with a big side of fresh seasoned fries. Look at the picture. Everything in that 5-star burger basket has flavor. Ice cream for dessert! How about a root beer float. The veteran, family-owned business restaurant operates in pretty tight quarters. Nine bar stools and four booths. Gas station and oil field motif. Pump tops, license plates and oilfield signs on the ceiling and walls. Great service today provided by Emily. And another plus. A two beers per customer limit, helps to prevent drunken fist fights in the limited space of the restaurant. Check the hours before you go. But, do go!

We stopped in today for a burger. We got the Retha Burger and the Bruncher Burger. And Onion Rings. The Bruncher was excellent. Messy, but really good and unique. I just feel like these guys care and really have a creative menu. If you are looking for country cooking, this is not your place. But if you are looking for a funky creative menu that is created with LOVE, then try this place.

Driving back to OKC we tried this place off the turnpike. It's a small clean place & we enjoyed our food. Service was great! I liked the corn ribs. It has indoor & outdoor seating.

I got their cowboy burger and granny burger. It's was a great burger and the fries are good too. I wasn't so much a fan of the ambiance. But the service was good.

We have been to this restaurant before when we were in the Bristow area, but apparently it has changed names and ownership. We found it to have the same friendly service and consistently good food. The interior of the restaurant seems to have been updated with fresh barstools. We started with the fried mushrooms which were huge, maybe a little too big in my opinion. But they were pretty good dipped in the ranch. My husband and I each got one of the burger options, and we both enjoyed our meals. I love onions rings, and they have good ones here at Anchor 66. I'm sure this is a local favorite, but they treat visitors like family too. We will go back next time we are in the neighborhood.

That is my favorite The Oklahoma twister is also awesome but this one is a shoot. I can't remember grandma Rea I know that's not right

Hamburger King is one of those classic Oklahoma gems that just hits you with nostalgia the moment…read moreyou walk in. The 50's-style diner setup is awesome, but the real fun is picking up the phone at your table to place your order. You don't see that anymore--and I absolutely loved it! We arrived just past the lunch rush, so things were nice and relaxed. I walked in thinking I'd order a burger... but the Chicken Fried Steak called my name, and I'm glad it did. Perfect portion size--not one of those giant plate-hogs--and served with mashed potatoes and cole slaw. The cole slaw deserves its own shoutout: rough-cut cabbage, creamy mayo dressing, and served cold just the way I like it. Everything on the plate was delicious. My wife went with the Chili Cheese Burger and potato wedges, and she gave it a big thumbs-up. And since it's a diner, I had to finish with a slice of Coconut Cream Pie. Let's just say--mission accomplished. Creamy, flavorful, and exactly what I was hoping for. If you love classic diners, friendly service, and comfort food done right, Hamburger King is absolutely worth the stop.

Love the old school diner feeling and ordering by phone at your table. You can also watch them cook your order fresh from your table. The atmosphere is always welcoming and warm. Oklahoma seems to have a certain pride when it comes to burger joints that keep it simple. Tulsa…read morehas many chains, local restaurants and pop-ups that are familiar and filling. Encroaching on a seemingly crowded market can be tough but somehow Howdy feels like an already-established diner. While many newer burger places attempt to overwhelm the consumer, Howdy Burger's approach seems to be keeping things simple and delivering what the people want while staying true to the "burger joint" identity. I've had Howdy Burger 2 or 3 times through the years. My first visit was likely in/at Mother Road Market but a more recent visit was on October 29th (2025). In the midst of an economic stall (the federal government was shut down for 4 weeks at that point), eating out seemed like a luxury. I visited around 2pm for lunch. The weather was chilly and the staff was readily available. I was greeted and I browsed the menu for about 2mins before ordering. I ended up getting a single burger & rodeo fries. Afterwards, me & the lady cashier had a brief conversation about the state of the world as business was slower than usual. The restaurant isn't huge but it was well maintained. I sat near the West windows and the food came out shortly after. The highlight of the food was easily the burger itself. It was a decent size, the bread was soft, and the patty was just thick enough. Each bite was equally satisfying as they didn't hold back on the toppings. I will say that the fries are pretty standard, even with the extra toppings. I don't think the Rodeo Fries are worth wild but it didn't hurt to try. Lastly, I LOVE the variety of sauces they offer and the staff are happy to add them directly onto the sandwich or place them on the side. I've since returned to have the Fried Chicken Sandwich and it was just as good, if not better, than most famed chicken sandwich spots. I wasn't familiar with Howdy for a while and, as mentioned, there are many other places to get a cheeseburger, sandwich and/or fries. But what I like about Howdy is that they don't try too hard, they know what sells and they offer great service. Considering the price, consistency in their products and good people behind the counter, Howdy Burger is good enough to replace your favorite burger chain and/or fast food spot.

In town and needed a quick bit and was recommend to stop here - did not disappoint! The rodeo fried…read morewere a hit and the burgers were fresh and delicious. Smashed thin and came out crunchy on the edges. Enough toppings to keep you wanting more. Drive through attendant was very pleasant and quickly got us our food. Thumbs up!

Jim's Jumbo Burger is this tiny spot on the corner and is take out only from a single window. It's only open a few hours a day and looks like it's been there, in the same exact spot since before Teddy Ruxpins existed. Exactly my kind of burger joint for lunch when on the road!!!! I grabbed a double cheese burger with bacon and jalapeños and a side of onion rings. I am team mustard so I got yellow bliss added to my buns and I asked for the lettuce, onion, tomatoes and pickle be spared as I had to eat on the fly. I really wish I'd have got it tho!!! The burger didn't need it, but I would have preferred it. So this burger was so freaking good!! Patties had this beef flavor that just kicked my taste buds with a tire iron in the best way possible. Then I had bacon stop by and say hi while slapping me a jalapeño kiss . It was hard to keep my truck between the mustard and mayonnaise stripes!! This was an emotional cheeseburger experience!! My onion rings were solid and delicious but for my preference a little too greasy. I'd eat them again but would opt to try the fries if I make it back up that way again!!! Im so glad I stopped in!!! Service was great and the two folks inside were so friendly!!! They showed me what Oklahoma is all about with their kindness in taking my order and getting it out quickly!!!! Cheers y'all!!!!
