Bought a record and it was cracked under the vinyl's center label. Didn't figure it out until I got home...to jersey. Damn!

Who remembers shopping for records that offered large, detailed album artwork and liner notes? if you want to tap back into the nostalgia for records, Rust & Wax is a place you will want to visit. Rust & Wax was opened in 2017 by Melanie and Jesse Friedman as a pop-up tent. They went on to open their large, bright, and well organized store here in Industry Alley. There is a wide selection of soul, funk, rhythm and blues, hip hop, rock, modern pop, jazz, indie, alternative, punk, metal, experimental, electronic, and Latin new and used records. They also sell 45's, CD's, tapes, books, shirts, pins, patches, vintage collectibles, and novelties. They will buy your vinyl and they have in store events and listening parties. Follow them on social media for the latest inventory and events. If you love music and collecting, this owner-operated record shop is a treasure trove. People still choose records for their superior, warm analog sound quality, You can chat with the employees and see their picks. Rust & Wax is more than just a music store, it is a community hub for music lovers.

It's a humble location; it's in a quiet strip mall off Oakland Park blvd. Honestly, as we pulled in to the mostly empty parking lot I thought we had the wrong location. But as we entered I realized what few mall customers there were, were all in the shop. And what a nice space it was. Old school basic layout that I liked. Just boxes and boxes of vinyl to sift through. They were well organized, with punk, funk, and more all set in their areas. And the RSD specials were displayed above each of the areas they related to. It's not a huge store, but with the limited quantity it helped me find a couple things I liked. Glad to make the acquaintance of We Got the Beats, and hope to be back soon.

The owner/manager (I'm not sure of his exact role), Tony, was super nice and patient despite what I'm sure was a stressful event. I was super impressed by the organization and how smoothly everything went, when it could've very easily been chaotic with hundreds of crazed fans in attendance. Tony also did a great job of making sure that people didn't cut in line, when many did try, and took the time to talk to those of us who had been waiting in line for hours. He also answered tons of questions on social media that people had leading up to the event. I can't convey how impressed I am at how well they pulled off an event of this magnitude, and am beyond grateful for this once-in-a-lifetime experience.

I’m the proud owner of a cozy little vintage shop nestled in the heart of Downtown Stuart, a charming coastal town on Florida’s east coast. My shop is a mix of three great passions: creating art, vinyl records and collecting all things vintage. My Art & Upcycling Passion My art is vibrant, eclectic, and spans a range of surfaces and styles, often blending with vintage influences. I’m a big believer in upcycling—breathing new life into the old and giving it a fresh, creative twist. The Vinyl Story Funny enough, I didn’t start out as a vinyl record shop, but life has its surprises! When I first opened, I added a couple of crates of my own vinyl collection for customers to browse. To my surprise, they flew off the shelves while my artwork stayed put. Turns out, my love for vinyl resonated with the community, and before I knew it, vintage records became a core part of my shop’s identity. Every vinyl record in the shop is tested and cleaned, and if it’s too scratched to play, I turn it into another artistic canvas! Resilience and Growth I signed my lease in March 2020, right before the world came to a standstill. Despite the challenges, my shop has thrived over these last 4.5 years. Today, it’s a bustling space full of character, charm, and soul—just like the vintage pieces and records that line the shelves.
