According to their website "House of Hope is a non profit agency that provides food, clothing,…read morefurniture, financial assistance, information & referral, and life-changing case management services to Martin County residents in need." To fund their programs including a food pantry and job coach program, they operate several thrift stores including this one, as well as Hobe Sound and Indiantown. I was surprised by how large and nice this thrift store is. Several rooms are filled with seasonal decorations including a large area of Christmas decorations, household goods, small appliances, clothes, accessories, kids items, large selection of furniture, and books. Everything was arranged artfully to give the store a boutique feel. In addition to shopping at their support stores you can donate your items at the rear of the store as well as give your time as a volunteer. Information on how to volunteer, their programs, and events are listed on the House of Hope website. This is a wonderful organization that deserves all of the community support it can get.

My husband and I visited here First thing Sunday morning on January 18, 2026…read more I did not feel very welcome here. We both shopped around, my husband went one way to look at things he was interested in, and I went a different way to explore the store. No one ever greeted or spoke to me. It was my first time in the store and they had lots of nice items. I did have questions about some items I wanted to purchase, but was never acknowledged the entire time. I walked through the store from the dishes, clothing, to the furniture side. One tall dark haired woman walked past me at least 4 times in the store but only spoke to my husband across the store a couple of times. I was very sad when I left the store. He told me so much about this store and I was excited to get there. Not sure what happened here, but I wonder if it was because we are an interracial couple that I was never acknowledged, but my husband was.

They do only have men's clothing and it is a little pricey but they have a ton of name brands. A lot of the stuff there is almost brand new and they have many different options. They have dress shoes, not many sneakers, many dress shirts and suit jackets, and tons of khakis and dress shorts. Their inventory changes a lot so if you do not find your size you can just come back another time. We come every time we are in town and almost always find hidden gems, we always find almost brand new Tommy Bahama clothing and it is reasonably priced. Along with clothing they have a lot of novelty items and sometimes there are really cool things in there. If you make it past the cranky owner, and he agrees to take your items, expect an opaque process, no written receipts or copies of your agreement, and radio silence until you proactively reach out. You'll get 40% of whatever arbitrary price they put on your items, but of course this assumes they actually sell for the price that split was made. If your items don't sell, make sure to retrieve them prior to the mystery date that only exists on the shop's paperwork, or they'll be donated.
