Prior to coming to CA I had a an amazing dentist/ hygienist that I would actually fall asleep during cleanings. I have been in CA for 10 years now and have been through many offices. A couple even had me in tears as I left. Needless to say I had developed a great anxiety about going to the dentist in general. Heather, Amy, Sheila and Dorian are amazing!!! Dr.Payor was very friendly, and explained everything in detail. Let me first start by saying I dread going to the dentist, and because of that I haven't gone in years! In my opinion dental offices are just a bunch of sales people trying to exploit people's fears and don't listen to what their patients are saying. But from the minute I walked into the office I was greeted with kindness, Dorian helped me check in and fill out my insurance paper work, she was sweet, funny and profesional. She made it very easy to get settled in. A few minutes later I was greeted by Shelia, the RDA, she gave me a tour of their office (which looks more like a comfortable home). She went over what steps to take take to make sure everything is safe and sanitized. She asked me important questions, listened to my concerns, and was able to explain in detail what I should expect, she took my X-rays, and educated me on my dental health. Shortly after I was greeted by Dr.Payor. Dr.Payor explained in detail what was going on with my teeth, and what steps I should take to take to ensure I'm taking care of my dental health. He never once tried to talk down to me or treat me like I didn't know what we were discussing. I look forward to working with him in the future. Afterwards, I met with Amy. Amy is usually the person most patients are worried about because she has the toughest job in the dental office. She's the one that goes over your treatment plan and tells you how much money you have to spend. This is usually the "salesperson", or the "closer" but not Amy, nope, Amy was a friend. She explained in detail the different procedures I could have, she explained the cost, what insurance covers, and what I will pay out of pocket. She never once said I had to pay for anything, or tried to talk me into paying for anything I didn't want. She just answered my questions, explained where my money was going, and helped me schedule the dental work I wanted done. Amy has 10 years of RDA experience so she knows what she's talking about. She was even able to talk with the Doctor and RDH to work with my busy schedule and move things around to fit me in. Amy is amazing, and she's a huge asset to the Cluff office as a whole. Last but far from least, I got to meet with Heather. Heather is the Registered Dental Hygienist. Heather was an absolute pleasure to work with. She made me laugh many times, and made the cleaning a very painless and easy process. She is very personable and you can tell she just cares about her patients oral health. We laughed and swapped stories that I honestly felt as if a friend was the one cleaning my teeth. Heather and the entire staff at Ana Cluff's office was amazing and had changed my perspective on dental offices. I took my daughter Virginia to Dr. Cluff. I was pleased in the past with Dr. Cluff but not now. Dr. Cluff's daughter did an extraction. The extraction was poorly performed. Due to extreme post pain, I took my daughter to an oral surgeon in San Diego today. He stated that the procedure was "botched." My daughter continues in pain due to the "botched" extraction and must endure the pain for two weeks while the stitches used in the extraction are removed. The stitches were botched as well. My daughter felt quite nervous being treated by Dr. Cluffs daughter. As the treatment began she immediately felt as though Dr. Cluff's daughter did not know what she was doing. That feeling was obviously correct. read more

I'll start off with the fact that I haven't been to the dentist in 4 years due to a insurance reasons.. I also have the worst anxiety when I go to any dentist, but when I walked in the receptionist made me feel comfortable and less embarrassed. The dentist did a whole work up on me and never once made me feel bad for any problems that I had with my teeth. She thoroughly explained what needed to be done and why, she also answered all the questions I had. The procedures were painless, they offered me blankets, pillows, even chapstick. Honestly this was the best experience I've had with any dentist. They walked me through all the payments and even worked with my insurance to try to find the cheapest way for me to get my work done. I recently moved my dental care from my previous dentist to Dr. Ana Cluff in Lakeside. I'm so glad I did! The office is clean and comfortable, sporting the most up-to-date equipment. Staff are friendly and informative. I just had a hygiene appointment with Stephanie LaRoya and am very pleased with her gentle but thorough touch. Receptionist Erika is cheerful and doesn't push the nice-to-have extras that my insurance plan doesn't cover (although it's good to know these options are available if I ever want to pursue them). Dr. Cluff is personable and professional, and I feel comfortable with her recommendations. I wish I had made the change sooner. The only thing I'd recommend is adjusting the office temperature -- it is COLD! Fortunately they offer comfy blankets to help stay warm. read more

Very unprofessional. I went there for my 6 months check up after I moved to that area and to my surprise I was diagnosed for 8 fillings on all my silver fillings saying I have cavities on them. While 6 months ago I was completely cavity free. I got a second opinion and I was told I have no cavities just silver fillings. But Dr. Cluff tried to convince me that they all have cavities. They show you all Dr. Cluff's credentials but nothing about her degree and I came to realize she didn't even go to school in United States. Stay away! read more

This practice is good for routine work only in my opinion. DO NOT recommend for cosmetic dentistry. Had to go twice and missed work because the first time they left me with rabbit teeth and a huge bump in the back of my teeth, went in for bonding for a surface chip. I'm at the dentist office and I must say it has been a very positive experience! From the warm greeting given by Erika to the gentle hands of the Dr. My anxiety was quickly settled by the super friendly staff. Not to mention Dr Cluff seems to keep up with the latest technology, based on the informative videos showing in the waiting room. Plus I see computers in the rooms which seem to be connected to the equipment. Plus they offer wi-fi, lip balm, neck pillows, blankets, bottled water, fans, wet towelettes, and nitrous oxide for your comfort. I haven't asked for all the amenities but it's posted in each room just in case. So I'm sure it's legit. Anyway, it was a better experience than I've had with ANY dental office I've been to in the past. So I highly recommend it when the need arises. If this were an app I'd give our 5 stars! They are easy to get to, the office is clean and they have the most up to date technology. They were recommended by a friend and really have taken care of me. The last time I had been to a dentist was sometime before 1998. I'm not exactly sure when. Even if you take reasonable care of your teeth odds are after 15 years of neglect you're going to have some issues. The main problem I was facing was a broken molar - and while it didn't cause me much discomfort the fact that I hadn't done anything about it for a long time meant I was in for something unpleasant. The verdict - 4 wisdom teeth that need to go, a root canal, a crown, and 8 cavities. The root canal, and subsequent crown were both pretty unpleasant. Obviously I wasn't expecting it to be much different, and I don't think Dr. Cluff could have really done anything to make it much better. I don't have any real horror stories to report. The worst part in the root canal was I don't think the novocaine had completely taken effect, or enough was administered the first time around. The first sign that I was in some pain Dr. Cluff administered more of it. Nitrous oxide was a must for me, and if you have any apprehension about dental work get it. The crown wasn't much fun either, but once again the nitrous helped a lot. After all of that jazz the cavities were easy. I also give the office big props for telling us about care credit that helped a lot with the financial side of dental work without insurance. I do wish they did sedation work because I definitely do not want to be awake for the wisdom teeth being out. It'd be nice to just go to one place. I'm not sure any dental work is worth 5 stars but I survived it, and you probably can too. read more

When Dr. John Kramer retired after 30 years, I trusted the new dentist who bought his practice, but it was a disappointment. Dr. Kramer took immaculate care of three generations of my family's teeth and his hygenists were meticulous. Despite having regular check-ups every six months, after two years of x-rays and cleanings with Dr. Cluff, I had a deep cavity that had been developing for a long time and it required a root canal. It was an *overlooked* rear molar--but still should have been detected during an exam--and was originally treated with two fillings that didn't work, then a $1,000 root canal, then a $1,000 crown. All that after I was told my teeth looked good based on x-rays and exams. Dr. Cluff's hygenists just weren't the same as Dr. Kramer's and didn't do as thorough a job, as my experience painfully revealed. read more

I have been going to Dr Cluff for 20 years now. One of her daughters has graduated from dental school and is now practicing with her mom at sdhs. Just had 2 wisdom teeth removed. One was difficult to remove and Dr Deanna Cluff had to cut thru and remove some bone to get it out. Like her mother, she is capable, informative, and careful. I was in great hands. Dr. Ana Cluff and the staff are absolutely incredible! We live in lake arrowhead, and our family drives out to San Diego to see her for all our dentistry needs! When you walk in you are greeted and acknowledged, something other offices lack. The waiting room is nice and clean. The waiting time is very minimal, as you are quickly directed to your room. Stephanie comes into the room and gets the area set up. She is always so kind and genuine when asking how we are and how the drive out there was! Once Dr. Ana Cluff comes in, she greets you politely and remembers her patients which makes you feel wonderful, seeing how many other patients she has. I have always been scared of the dentist, but I have never felt any pain or been uncomfortable with Dr. cluff and her staff! That's why we drive the two hours to see them! The ladies in the back definitely get the job done quickly and efficiently! Stephanie and Veronica are great assistants to Dr Cluff. They know which tools to use next, and are very well trained in their profession. When Dr Cluff is done with her portion of the job, either Stephanie or Veronica finish up and the results are astonishing. The other stuff are also amazing, i just haven't gotten a chance to have them work on me. If you're looking for a great dentist, I'd suggest this office 100%! You won't be disappointed.
