I love the food at this place but the service we had was absolutley terrible. We went on a Wednesday night around 9pm. There weren't a lot of guests and the bartender told us to seat ourselves. We picked a seat not in the bar area because it was a little loud. About 5 minutes went by and nobody had come to take our order yet. My boyfriend stood up at that point and a waitress saw him and then headed over. She got us drinks, took our food order, then brought us our food. I told her I might want to order dessert but wanted to see how I felt after our entrees. She never came back after that. My partner had to go find her and ask for refills and order dessert. After she brought us dessert and our refills, we never saw her again. We were waiting for her for about 15 minutes until my partner got up (for the third time) and went to the bar and asked for the check. She was talking to someone at the bar and continued to do so while he was standing there waiting for the check. Really disappointing experience. read more

This is a beautiful pub with different dining spaces, some areas overlooking the restaurant. The bar is beautiful offering beer, wine, liquor. The menu is a mix of Irish and typical restaurant offerings (Sheppard pie, steak, shrimp, sandwiches, etc.). I ordered the Sheppard pie which was described as uncommon - short rib meat alongside mashed potatoes with peas and carrots with a delicious dark gravy. It was very delicious and unexpected. My husband ordered the Ruben after our server Melinda said the restaurant makes their own corned beef. It really was the best corned beef we've had. Very tender and flavorful. The restaurant is huge and there is plenty of parking. They were able to accommodate a wheelchair easily. We went on a week night and it wasn't busy. We will absolutely be back! read more

This is my second review tonight started with the mussels very nice a tad salty but so flavorful. I had the Shepherd (short robe with mash carrots peas. ) omg sooo wonderful melt in your mouth. And finished with the lava cake. The whipped cream is the winner. The lava cake was the only not so great and really they were so busy will try it again. You really can't go wrong. We loved coming here when it first opened almost 2 decades ago. Then it closed for years. We came back when it had just reopened about 8 years ago--we weren't impressed. Finally decided to come again since it's managed to stay open the last few years. So glad we did. It feels like a place trying to regain the reputation it once had. But to what matters most... Service was fast, friendly and efficient. Jayden was an excellent server. We ordered the Fish and Chips to share. At $22 it came with two well fried cod and fries, not chips. Plenty for us to share. Bonus, we came at Happy Hour where the wine is $5 and all apps are $2 off. Parking requires a validation if you're not staying at the hotel. Decor makes you feel as if you're in an Irish Pub, but it's not nearly as inviting as it was back in the early 2000's. Changes to suggest: open the front section first rather than the basement section. Play Irish music to go with the entire experience instead of pop hits. Add candle light on the tables to invite a little getting atmosphere. We enjoyed it enough we will be back. Let's support local businesses! read more

What a fun Irish pub with a literally bar design imported from Ireland! They have an excellent happy hour ($4.25 for a glass of wine!). I've had this space bookmarked for a bit as I love Irish food, but we just now were able to get out there. We had a panic moment when the only parking was in the gated lot that is $12 for self-parking BUT they validate, so no worries!! The pub is very warm feeling and has a great bar area, as well as, great comfy seating in the lower level. They do have high chairs and boosters for littles if you need it. The menu has a variety of options. You get 50% off an appetizer if you show a check in on Facebook, so give that a try! We did the meat and cheese board. We shared the fish and chips and the Shepard's pie. Both were very good. The pie was very cheesy soup like and had great flavor. The fish was nicely breaded and had some fun large swirl fries. I am a self admitted food snob. It was a long day and this restaurant is located inside the hotel I'm staying in. I ordered the wings and Brussel sprouts for dinner along with a glass of wine. Wine was amazing, just what I needed, but the food... eh... not so amazing. The wings advertised they were brined in beer and available in hot or bbq. They look and tasted like a bag of Tyson frozen chicken wings....with the bread. The Brussel sprouts ended up being chewy....chewy. Like how do Brussel sprouts get chewy? I ate out of sheer hunger and being tired. I just wanted something to satisfy myself before bed. The 3 stars are purely for the bartender. She was ah-mazing. I did tell her that the wings were horrible and she instantly took them off the tab. I was surprised, I'm not a complainer at all....but I was super impressed by the service. I arrived from the airport on a business trip and was starving. My co-worker and I decided to just have dinner at the hotel since we were too tired to go anywhere. We weren't greeted and was a bit confused in how to order, so we made our way in through the crowd and asked one of the bartenders if we could place an order to go. So I have been to many hotel bars and never am impressed Ed. This is a first! The bartender, Debra, rocks! So friendly and gave me the best food options, she won't stir you wrong. I was debating between energy the sHepard's pie or the iris sh Ruben, she said both are great but the Ruben has a twist that is worth ordering ( pickled red cabbage instead of sauerkraut and its the curly wedge fries was delicious. It is a lot of food so I had to bring half back to the room. Nice atmosphere, pub style. Full bar, happy hour from 3-7pm. This is nice, spacious bar restaurant in a very mediocre Sheraton. Plenty of room to find a place at the bar or a table with a group. The only complaint I had was they had verticle wooden partitions (for lack of a better word) at the bar, that I guess would provide some privacy if that's what you wanted. I felt a bit closed in and had a difficult time seeing the TV sports and what else was going on in the bar. They had about 10 beers on tap, many of them locals which is always a great touch. I opted for a bite and a beer twice during my 4 night stay and was not disappointed. The menu was bar/Irish Pub fare, but decent. I had the chicken and waffles appetizer the 2nd night I was in and it was excellent and very filling. The service was very good, although a decent number of people were there both times I stopped in. Kristy(?) was tending bar my first night in and was very friendly and helpful in making my very important beer decision. I have mixed feelings about An Tobar. It has a gorgeous layout. The decor is regal and upscale. Moreover, the staff provides an impeccable service. Most times we have have visited, it has been empty; thus we feel like we rented out the place for ourselves. They definitely serve your typical Irish comfort foods, but the food is not their strength. This is a place where you come and order a few beers, and that's it. Keep in mind that they are not cheap. This is such a cool, unique and chill little spot. We loved seeing the decorations and taking pictures in the phone booth they have right at front. We went for St Patrick's day. They didn't seem TOO busy but unfortunately it seemed like it was everyone's first day at the job, very uncoordinated. We were sitting down for about 20 minutes and nobody took our order. So, we ordered at the bar. Food was unfortunately definitely mediocre for 22$ fish and chips. But the fries were excellent and crisp. Reuben sandwich was also not that great. We enjoyed playing darts. If we go back, it will just be for drinks though (and maybe just fried). Hopefully this place improves because it is a fun little spot. read more

This restaurant located in the Sheraton in Orlando need a little work with improvements. Hopefully it's on the radar to remodel also. It's outdated from the decor to the bar. Now the food is okay but overpriced for the quality. If you do not feel up to getting back into your car and paying another fee to park....yes the hotel charge you to self park your car per day. Anyway! I had a veggie flatbread pizza which was okay and I had two Moscow mules which was really good. My bill was $30, but I was too tired to go back out and get on the horrific I-4 constant construction to find food. This is the third time I've been to this restaurant due to my company use this hotel and each time it's pretty empty. Hopefully it will have some renovations to spice it up read more

A spacious pub shipped from the Emerald Isle, with plenty of room for small and larger parties. Our team dinner was a bit of a challenge to arrange but, after the fact, everyone agreed the food was good and our server, Victor, did a great job. The appetizers of chicken skewers with tzatziki sauce were a little dry. But the mushrooms were good, if a little on the small side. But you're not in an Irish pub for anything but fish and chips or Sheppard's Pie. The Pie was very good and a few people in our party went back for seconds and made sure to have takeaways for home. We had to forego desserts, but I would return to try them. The space itself is the major sell. This is where you want to spend St. Patty's or watch a playoffs game. When in Maitland I stayed in the Sheraton which had An Tobar attached to it. This is a two story Irish bar with lots of drink and food specials. I enjoyed great service and a variety of bar food. While we were here, a group of 15, the bar was sparsely crowded, but plenty of seating for parties large and small. The bar has a variety of beers, mixed drinks, and non alcoholic options as well. The pours are standard and they have a decent sized beer list. The appetizers we had included fried green beans (amazing!), chicken wings (fantastic!), and some vegetarian pizza (good idea, some additional flavor could have made this perfect as well). Overall, the service was very warm and friendly. We were frequently checked in on, but not in a way that's overzealous. read more

On my second visit here after having very good samples at the Best Of Orlando party. This time I'm rather unimpressed with my experience. As I'm writing this I've been waiting for over 45 minutes for two sandwiches. At 9 pm. On a Tuesday. After having waited 30 minutes at the bar for someone to clear one of the several long-vacated tables. We've had to flag our server down to request refreshed drinks during this time period, and then again to remind her which ticket we were on. Now, on the other end of dinner, the food was okay, the drinks were cold, and the environment was standard Irish pub. I understand restaurants have off nights and unexpectedly busy hours, but we felt a bit neglected and under-compensated in the end. We'll give it another shot, mainly because this is a walkable neighborhood bar in an area starved for walkable neighborhood bars. However, in order for An Tobar to succeed, they'll really need to up their game just a little bit. read more

Wanted to wait to review this place after our 2nd time here. And both times they didn't disappoint, so not sure why this place isn't packed or doesn't have better reviews. Something I loved right away, was that Irish feel when you come in. On their website it says that all of the furniture inside of the restaurant was made from wood in Ireland. It's just beautiful. From their entrance, to their bar, and all the minor details gives you a very Irish experience. On our first visit, we had the Pork Belly Sliders. Wow, just wow. My mouth is watering as I'm typing this. My only criticism for this appetizer is that I wish the order brought 4. Was so damn yummy. For my entree, I had the Traditional Shepherd's pie and my bf had the Fish N Chips. I loved the Shepherds Pie since I wanted comfort food and this hit the spot. The only thing I didn't eat was the Guinness bread that came with it. It's just too dense and a little too bitter for my taste buds. The Fish N Chips was yummy too, and their home fries perfectly crunchy yet soft inside. For dessert we had their Warm Apple Tart, sooo yummy!! On our 2nd visit, we wanted to sit at the beautiful bar. We did order food at the bar and my bf had beer while I had water. Yes, water at the bar. Come to find out a couple of other folks that came after also ordered water. I guess I'm not the only weird person drinking water at the bar. I do drink alcohol but just didn't feel like having it. Felt bad though for the bartender, Shane, as we weren't gonna make him any money that night. He was still friendly and attentive. This time, for appetizer we ordered the Calamari, also very good. For entrees, my bf ordered the Irish Burger with home fries and I had the Penne Pasta. He loved his burger since it was made just right, on the medium side. My plate was very yummy but I will give another criticism in that I did ask for no chorizo in it. But as I was halfway through my plate, I found out I had indeed eaten chorizo. I didn't want to make a big deal out of it because it was darn yummy. I figured that perhaps the sauce itself has all the ingredients already mixed in and that was probably the reason they couldn't take it out. Maybe the chef tried to take most of it out since it wasn't a whole bunch. If that is something you don't like either or can't eat then just double check with them. Again, it wasn't a big deal for me just throwing out there in case someone for health reasons can't eat that. But again, it was very yummy and Shane's service was great. For dessert we had their Homemade Bread Pudding. Note: it's huge and can easily serve 4 people. It was sooo yummy too. I'm a sucker for desserts and probably like 99% of desserts. Just the fact that service was great, food was great, and the whole Irish decor is the reason I'm still giving them 5 sparkling stars. So if you happen to be in the area and are looking for comfort food, great service, or just to relax at the bar, come check this place out. Located in the first floor of the Sheraton hotel, this restaurant has a captive clientele from checked-in guests. Our party of thee enjoyed our dine. Take into perspective that all party members had the same entree, the fish and chips, which was excellent. The portions of cod and fries were more than one person could eat. Beer battered cod was crisp on the outside and moist and flaky on the inside. Fries were fresh and crispy. Note, that the rating for me is a solid 4.5 where the half star lost is mainly for having no staff at all visible when we arrived which delayed seating. Seating area is a confusing arrangement of self seating. So what, the place is not perfect. However, given the current environment of staff shortages in the food service industry, I certainly understand how that might be a factor. The service that was provided by Debbie was top notch. We valued Debbie's super friendly service, attention to details, providing Coke refills without asking, speed an obtaining additional ordered drinks, and checking in with us appropriately. We also ordered a Cesar salad which was excellent. The fried mash potato appetizer was also decent but could have been a little warmer in the center. Finally, note that the menu in June 2022 is very different than many of the reviews listed within the Yelp ratings as there is a different chef (example Brussels sprouts are no longer available). read more

We got back around 11 to find the doors closed and locked. Tons of others waiting outside the door with us, one of their friends came to let us in. I was staying at the nearby hotel and didn't want to opt for room service so I decided to give Tobar a try. It was about 5:30p so an early dinner but I didn't have lunch. The place was empty and I asked the hostess if I could just order to go. She said yes, but did not hand me a menu or direct me anywhere. I stood there waiting then said ok, how do I order to go. She told me to go to the bar and then I had to ask for a menu. The bartender was friendly but once I said I was ordering food to go he seemed to lose interest and only paid attention to the few patrons ordering drinks. I'm a really big fan of asian food so when I saw Edamame Dumplings on the menu I was puzzled but very intrigued. Could an Irish Pub make this? The answer is yes! It was the only thing I had that I really enjoyed here. I also got a traditional Cesar ($8) with added chicken for an extra $6. I thought this would be a massive and wonderful salad considering the price. I was disappointed. It was small like a side salad with just a few small COLD pieces of chicken. You know, if you are too lazy to leave the hotel, you could do a lot worse than having an Irish bar as your main option. My man Shane took care of me most of the week. I have to admit I struggled with the menu because I try to eat healthy on the road but with some perseverance, I was able to find my go to. Night 1 Monday, was a Smithwicks and burger. I was torn because I am a sucker for a good Irish egg, but I struggle paying $12 for a single egg so I never did try it. Night 2 Tuesday, was a black and tan, Jameson shot $5 special, the house salad with the salmon (keeper). Night 4 was the same salad/salmon (I know, I'm boring) black n tan, and for those who may not know, happy hour goes until 8pm on Thursday, $4 rail and wine. So if you are local, not a bad deal. From my experience, the Tuesday crowd was pretty strong just like Shane said it would be. TV's to watch the game, etc and plenty of space to hang out and catch up with your peeps. The beer choices also weren't good (only one craft beer on tap) and the food looked heavy, fried, and just not appealing to me. The décor was interesting and mostly in keep ing with the Irish theme. This restaurant is filled with authentic relics brought over from Ireland. The beautiful woodwork behind and around the bar is from the days of cathedral builders. The food and service are great and it's a cool little pub. I enjoyed it every time I went! read more
