I came here one evening after work with some coworkers. We wanted a nice, chill pub atmosphere with some good food. We found that here at St. Andrews. Ambiance was great. Seat yourself, a little schlubby building with only a few, dark windows. I loved it. Felt like real Britain. Service was good. The guy was super nice, and the food all came out timely and hot. No worries there. I was also super impressed and pleased that they had a Guinness 0.0 available in a can. I've been told it's nothing like the real thing, but I thought it was pretty darn good. As for the food, it was dynamite. Started off with a simple Chips & Curry Sauce. Very nicely fried fries with a heaping helping of a thick curry sauce. A very mild sauce that was good on pretty much anything. I finished the fries and kept the sauce around for subsequent courses. I then had a Sausage Roll & Crisps. The roll was great. Super flakey pastry enveloped a very nice, well-seasoned sausage that had a good snap to it with every bite. Delicious. Then, my main event, a Home-Made Meat Pie (Steak & Mushroom, Served with Chips and Garden Peas). Check the picture. It wasn't a pie pie like I was expecting, but the filling was really deep and umami in the way only steak and mushroom can be. The pastry was, again, really good, and I subbed the chips for onion rings, and they were crispy and dipped really well in that curry sauce. Overall, this was a nice, simple, delicious experience that did a good job bringing us coworkers together for some good camaraderie. read more

I called 1st to ask about the Fish, which is so highly regarded online by customers. I was greeted very kindly & was asked for my location, so that they will know how far away I'am, to have my fish ready for me as I arrived. Once I entered, I was amazed at how warm & comfortable this cozy place is. I was greeted by the Bartender and also several customers. I walked over and had a conversation with a few guys just watching the game. I felt like I was at home. My Fish came out hot, fresh & amazing. I absolutely loved the fish !!! I will definitely become a new "regular" here at this location read more

St. Andrews Tavern - A happy 1st time customer - British Near Me - Altamonte Springs, Florida

We'll start with an easy one - the best fish n chips north of International Drive, period. But that's only scratching the surface. St. Andrew's Tavern is a true "tavern" in every sense of the word. It's family owned and operated, with generations of recipes handed down. Personally, I'm obsessed with the Steak and Kidney Pie with a side of peas and chips. (Yes, that's fresh beef kidney, and yes, chips mean fries.) Wash that down with a cold Tenant's on draught, and all is right with the world. And just about anything on their menu is tasty, genuinely English and will warm your soul, in only the way a proper pub can. Add to all this the wonderful people, the fun weekend nights, the high-quality football watching and shouting (Yes, football means soccer.), and St. Andrew's Tavern is the most complete, welcoming, traditional and proper English Pub anywhere in Central Florida. It's like a home away from home. read more

Very, very nice place. The owner - Jackie - is one of the sweetest and friendliest restauranteurs we've ever met. She's amazingly gracious and her entire restaurant reflects her good cheer. The food was great. We all enjoyed our meals. It seemed like we were back in the UK. This place really is the real deal. If we're wanting fish and chips or pasties or bangers & mash or even mushy peas, this is gonna be our go-to spot. All in all, we thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Compliments to Jackie and her crew. We had a superbly enjoyable evening. Well done. read more

Good beer but incredibly rude staff. Bad service, bad attitude . Beer is also very expensive so 3 strike you are out . Its not hard to be courteous and professional. Too baf Skip it . read more

Really nice people and a great uk bar experience lots of stuff gaming from the ceiling and soccer

We love their fish and chips. This time we split one piece and it wasn't quite enough to fill us both, prices were expensive. We don't blame them in this economy - $30 for two pieces of fish with chips. The staff is friendly and service sufficient. We will be back! read more

I showed up here late one Sunday night after a long, rough day at work, sat down, ordered a tasty cocktail and enjoyed the rest of my night off before catching a safe ride home and going to bed...never realizing after I returned so many late Sunday nights following that moment that this quaint, British-inspired pub closed early on Sunday nights. The staff and the owner Jackie were ALL so friendly and welcoming, that they never bothered to inform me that the pub does advertise they do close a little early on Sunday nights until months of showing up on Sundays often late and unannounced. But that's the kind of bar St. Andrew's is. A friendly staff with even friendlier people and serving some of the best British pub-style meals this side of Orlando. They make a delicious fresh fish & chips with mushy peas or regular peas and the best shepherd's pie I've ever tried anywhere! Saturday nights can get a little loud and crowded as should be expected from any local bar. But St. Andrew's is a fun, little spot going towards Apopka from Altamonte Springs to grab some good drinks, purchase some cute-sy British memorabilia perfect for gifts or for the holidays, munch on some quality homemade food and enjoy some nice company, whether day or night. I've always found I get what I pay for at this small, but neighborly bar and don't forget to tip your servers if you decide to visit!!! St. Andrews Tavern - FRESH fish & chips with a side of mushy peas...a hearty meal for a good price... - British Near Me - Altamonte Springs, Florida

This is my first time at St Andrew's Tavern. I am absolutely impressed with the air quality of the food. I had the steak and mushroom pie, which was excellent. The bar staff was quick and efficient and very friendly. Definitely the type of place that you want to hang out for a few beers. The location is small, but it only has to. The charm is by far the best British bar I've ever been too. read more

I gave it four stars not because of the service or ambiance or the food but a glass had broken on me pieces going everywhere with water and just a nonchalant sorry. Other than that the service was good for a divey type tavern the food was on point and good. Service was good we went there for the fish and chips specifically so we weren't drinking. It is family owned and we would definitely be back The corn dogs were not greasy as expected the fish was cooked perfectly, I tried the tarter sauce but it just wasn't my style I used just the malt vinegar. We would definitely be back read more

This is a hidden gem in Altamonte! I have driven past this place multiple times and had no idea what it was. Well, it's a small pub that seems to draw a local crowd everyday. Inside is cozy with a bar that greets you right when you enter. There are a few places to sit and enjoy your drinks and food. We ordered a burger (the Brittania burger to be exact), shepherds pie and fish and chips. The burger was demolished by my son. It had a fried egg, onion ring, Canadian bacon and steak sauce. It looked delicious! The shepherds pie was a very good helping and tasted great. The star of the show was the fish and chips. It was fried to perfection. The batter was not too thick. It paired amazingly with tartar sauce and malt vinegar. Service was a bit slow. It's a very laid back feeling inside. I recommend visiting but not if you're in a rush. read more

One of my absolute favorites!! I come all the time with my family for fish fry Friday but you can order fish any day!! This time I went for their brunch they host the first weekend of every month and boy it was just as goood!!! The full English breakfast had everything and then a little extra, the blood sausage may not be for everyone so you can ask without lol! There's also the egg scramble that comes with fresh veggies, meats, choice of cheese and hollandaise sauce! Both delicious options and you will now see me and my family at their monthly brunches!! read more

My favorite place to go for great food and drinks. The staff is amazing... love the atmosphere. Everyone is welcomed there

Your beer is always fresh and the darts are sharp! The food is authentic and delicious! Don't forget to pick up a shirt!

St Andrews Tavern in Altamonte Springs is a great pub-style restaurant with an awesome menu and atmosphere. It has a chill and casual vibe that is lively and fun, but it is also family friendly. I think it's a great place to meet up with friends or family to enjoy a beer and dig in to one of the delicious options on the menu. Many of the dishes are great to share. One of my favorites is the Fish and Chips, but there are plenty others that I enjoy! I also like that it is open late - 2:00 AM 7 days a week. I definitely recommend St Andrew's Tavern. read more

Food was OK and a good selection of beers from across the pond so why the one-star rating? It's because of the ambiance. There was a really loud-mouthed mfer in the bar making it impossible to enjoy your beer. Sad part if he has a headshot picture of himself up behind the bar. Don't know if he is involved as an owner, which might explain his obnoxious behavior, but at this point, he won't change and I will not be going back. read more

Great little local pub. Once you walk through the door it's like being back home. Staff treat you like family, and the food is proper English food. We dont eat meat but there is always options for vegetarians - highly recommend the homemade cheese and onion pasty! read more

We live in Clemmons NC and every time we come down to visit my brother and his wife that live in Altamont Springs (minutes from the pub) we have to visit St. Andrews pub. If you like British type venues, then this is a must see. Drinks and food are very reasonable priced, and you can slip in a game or two of darts in the back. The gentleman that runs the pub is British and very friendly and loves to talk to patrons about all things British and American just don't get him started on the subject of aliens! I have yet had a weak drink at this place and bartenders are very friendly knowledgeable and might have a story or two for you also. Wish we had a place like this in Clemmons, you wouldn't be able to keep me out! read more

If you have experienced old world British Pubs then you will love this place. Very friendly.

Great family British pub. Great community atmosphere. The foods absolutely out of this world. Having lived overseas it's the closest I've had to over there since being in the great 50 states. Always good times and good friends!! Since the first day I walked in years ago, the staff treat you with love and like family!!! Highly recommend checking it out for a pint and food if you're in the area! Don't want to miss this spot! read more

Wow my last update was from 8 years ago! Time for an update! I came here for the 2018 World Cup final (France won by the way), it was great to see some locals, even some faces from 8 years ago! Not a whole lot changed at this place, still some friendly faces and seksay British accent! The only complaint I have is they allow smoking indoor, but it's a British pub and one of its kind in Altamonte Springs, great place to hang out when you just want to have a drink or watch some soccer games! read more

The best fish and chips in the stea! We also love their bangers and mash. Want to try their breakfast next.

Great spot to hear some foul language and grab a few pub drinks. The fish and chips are great. So is the rest of the menu. I used to go hang out early after work and catch the early crowd and tank up before heading home for dinner. Then I'd come out on weekends once in a while for some fun and always enjoyed myself. Most folks keep themselves in order. Haven't seen any real good outbursts in all the years going there. Jackie is a top notch hostess and the rest of the tenders are spot on as well. Do yourself a solid and go check this place out. Have a few drinks and grab a bite to eat. Live a little bits a good time read more

Nice local pub environment. Had their fish n chips. Totally amazing. Crispy and not greasy. Will definitely be back to try more of their menu items. read more

Server was nice, menu is simple. Food was great. Fish n chips and the home made pie were fantastic!! Food was made to order (assuming this because we waited a moment for all three dishes) mushy peas~ fries~ amazing too- I personally like simple food that taste good, and this place hits home. Only reason I gave a four stars was because this place does allow smoking, and I don't smoke. But overall the food is nice. read more

St. Andrews Tavern - Pubs have the best bar food. - British Near Me - Altamonte Springs, Florida

I'm definitely not a newbie to this pub. I have been coming here for almost 10 years now with some of my best friends. Looking for a great place to get a cold Strongbow or Guinness on tap you have found it. Even better yet get one of my favorites; a Black Velvet that mixes the two for a great drink. I have always felt like this was a great local hangout on the right nights. A great British pub atmosphere and the same staff year after year severing you drinks, it's truly a pub where everyone knows your name. Never know what kind of music you will get in the background or might even catch a night with a live band. This is the place to watch a soccer match and play some real darts. The food is great too just don't get there too late because the don't serve all night long. Appetizers, Chicken Fingers. Fish & Chips! Fried food to the max! Parking has always been interesting, maybe times parking at the veterinarians office across the street. Just because the parking lot is full doesn't mean there isn't room inside. Seems like everyone drive their own car to the pub half the time. read more

This place is amazing. From the atmosphere, to the food, to the friendly staff. This is an amazing spot on a Friday night. read more

By far my favorite pub for food and drinks. Amazing staff, amazing atmosphere, amazing food. If you are a soccer fan, Saturday's are always fun there with a huge TV along with smaller tv's for different games. Best fish n chips I've ever had (even compared to going to London). Nick makes amazing curry dishes and homemade *different* pepper poppers straight from the garden. Love this place! Love the owners! read more

My favorite hang out. I feel like Norm from cheers when I walk inside. We're not just "regulars" we're family. The bartenders know what your favorite drinks are and I never have to wait longer than 2 mins to get one. The owners, Jackie and Nick are the kindest most fun people you will ever meet. Shout out to my PUB and pub friends! I'm stopping in after work for some Monday funday. read more

I've been here many a drunken night with friends over the past 20 years. Other than the removal of the avocado-colored tub in the bathroom, nothing much has changed to this quaint little house that's been converted into a British pub with the windows sealed shut, nowhere to hang outside, and very little parking. PROS: Great pub vibe for young and old alike. CONS: People smoking like it's 1987. I will say, though, that the last time I was here, my Black and Tan came in a glass mug. That wouldn't have bothered me so much if the beer wasn't so flat, too. And, after reading other reviews about their food, I should mention that my friend got violently ill from the fish and chips last year. It breaks my heart to give this place a bad review. So many good memories for me here (except for my friend's "Bridesmaids" reenactment). read more

British grub galore. British culture galore. British bartenders, premiership football. Georgie Best has met the landlord. Proof is on the walls. Landlord even sat on Red Rum, poor bastard (the horse), pic on the wall to prove it. If you want the best of British this is it. London Pride, Bass Ale, Old Speckled Hen the list goes on and so do the pints. Definitely a place to come for great company, food and pints. read more

Wish I could give zero stars. My husband loves futbol and would go occasionally with friends for a beer and to watch a Chelsea match. He convinced me to go with him on his birthday to have a few drinks this year, 2017. The female bartender was horrendous. And after my husband stepped outside to deal with a work call she turned psycho on me. Ignored my repeated request for another vodka cranberry. I asked why the bad service and she went on a rant about me causing problems there in the past and my husband speaking to her about not serving me. I had never visited this establishment prior to my husbands birthday (married 17 yrs.). When my husband got back in I explained what had happened. He let me know that when he and friends go to this establishment they avoid this bartender because she has a history of causing problems. We left and enjoyed an evening without the drama. read more

Love this place! It's an authentic British Pub. The people are really fantastic, but it might be because they know the people that I infrequently visit with (who themselves visit quite frequently). The biggest plus is that they have Cider - all kinds! Do yourself a favor and order a Manger's - amazing. The appetizers were really great too. I had to fight for them amongst my pals. The atmosphere is pretty nice. They usually have soccer on the telly. If I had to knock them for something it'd be parking. I wish there was a better spot for my motorcycle, but they let me put it on the sidewalk and pointed me toward a good spot, so all is well. Good times! read more
