Very, very nice place. The owner - Jackie - is one of the sweetest and friendliest restauranteurs we've ever met. She's amazingly gracious and her entire restaurant reflects her good cheer. It's family owned and operated, with generations of recipes handed down. Personally, I'm obsessed with the Steak and Kidney Pie with a side of peas and chips. (Yes, that's fresh beef kidney, and yes, chips mean fries.) Wash that down with a cold Tenant's on draught, and all is right with the world. I showed up here late one Sunday night after a long, rough day at work, sat down, ordered a tasty cocktail and enjoyed the rest of my night off before catching a safe ride home and going to bed...never realizing after I returned so many late Sunday nights following that moment that this quaint, British-inspired pub closed early on Sunday nights. The staff and the owner Jackie were ALL so friendly and welcoming, that they never bothered to inform me that the pub does advertise they do close a little early on Sunday nights until months of showing up on Sundays often late and unannounced. But that's the kind of bar St. Andrew's is. A friendly staff with even friendlier people and serving some of the best British pub-style meals this side of Orlando. They make a delicious fresh fish & chips with mushy peas or regular peas and the best shepherd's pie I've ever tried anywhere! Saturday nights can get a little loud and crowded as should be expected from any local bar. I gave it four stars not because of the service or ambiance or the food but a glass had broken on me pieces going everywhere with water and just a nonchalant sorry. Other than that the service was good for a divey type tavern the food was on point and good. Service was good we went there for the fish and chips specifically so we weren't drinking. One of my absolute favorites!! I come all the time with my family for fish fry Friday but you can order fish any day!! This time I went for their brunch they host the first weekend of every month and boy it was just as goood!!! The full English breakfast had everything and then a little extra, the blood sausage may not be for everyone so you can ask without lol! There's also the egg scramble that comes with fresh veggies, meats, choice of cheese and hollandaise sauce! This is a hidden gem in Altamonte! I have driven past this place multiple times and had no idea what it was. Well, it's a small pub that seems to draw a local crowd everyday. Inside is cozy with a bar that greets you right when you enter. There are a few places to sit and enjoy your drinks and food. We ordered a burger (the Brittania burger to be exact), shepherds pie and fish and chips. The burger was demolished by my son. It had a fried egg, onion ring, Canadian bacon and steak sauce. It looked delicious! The shepherds pie was a very good helping and tasted great. The star of the show was the fish and chips. It was fried to perfection. The batter was not too thick. It paired amazingly with tartar sauce and malt vinegar. Service was a bit slow. It's a very laid back feeling inside. I recommend visiting but not if you're in a rush. read more

St Andrews Tavern in Altamonte Springs is a great pub-style restaurant with an awesome menu and atmosphere. It has a chill and casual vibe that is lively and fun, but it is also family friendly. I think it's a great place to meet up with friends or family to enjoy a beer and dig in to one of the delicious options on the menu. Many of the dishes are great to share. Food was OK and a good selection of beers from across the pond so why the one-star rating? It's because of the ambiance. There was a really loud-mouthed mfer in the bar making it impossible to enjoy your beer. Sad part if he has a headshot picture of himself up behind the bar. We live in Clemmons NC and every time we come down to visit my brother and his wife that live in Altamont Springs (minutes from the pub) we have to visit St. Andrews pub. If you like British type venues, then this is a must see. Drinks and food are very reasonable priced, and you can slip in a game or two of darts in the back. The gentleman that runs the pub is British and very friendly and loves to talk to patrons about all things British and American just don't get him started on the subject of aliens! I have yet had a weak drink at this place and bartenders are very friendly knowledgeable and might have a story or two for you also. Wish we had a place like this in Clemmons, you wouldn't be able to keep me out! read more

Wow my last update was from 8 years ago! Time for an update! I came here for the 2018 World Cup final (France won by the way), it was great to see some locals, even some faces from 8 years ago! Great spot to hear some foul language and grab a few pub drinks. The fish and chips are great. So is the rest of the menu. I used to go hang out early after work and catch the early crowd and tank up before heading home for dinner. Then I'd come out on weekends once in a while for some fun and always enjoyed myself. Most folks keep themselves in order. Haven't seen any real good outbursts in all the years going there. Jackie is a top notch hostess and the rest of the tenders are spot on as well. Looking for a great place to get a cold Strongbow or Guinness on tap you have found it. Even better yet get one of my favorites; a Black Velvet that mixes the two for a great drink. I have always felt like this was a great local hangout on the right nights. A great British pub atmosphere and the same staff year after year severing you drinks, it's truly a pub where everyone knows your name. Never know what kind of music you will get in the background or might even catch a night with a live band. This is the place to watch a soccer match and play some real darts. The food is great too just don't get there too late because the don't serve all night long. Appetizers, Chicken Fingers. Fish & Chips! Fried food to the max! Parking has always been interesting, maybe times parking at the veterinarians office across the street. Just because the parking lot is full doesn't mean there isn't room inside. I've been here many a drunken night with friends over the past 20 years. Other than the removal of the avocado-colored tub in the bathroom, nothing much has changed to this quaint little house that's been converted into a British pub with the windows sealed shut, nowhere to hang outside, and very little parking. PROS: Great pub vibe for young and old alike. CONS: People smoking like it's 1987. I will say, though, that the last time I was here, my Black and Tan came in a glass mug. That wouldn't have bothered me so much if the beer wasn't so flat, too. And, after reading other reviews about their food, I should mention that my friend got violently ill from the fish and chips last year. It breaks my heart to give this place a bad review. So many good memories for me here (except for my friend's "Bridesmaids" reenactment). read more

Wish I could give zero stars. My husband loves futbol and would go occasionally with friends for a beer and to watch a Chelsea match. He convinced me to go with him on his birthday to have a few drinks this year, 2017. The female bartender was horrendous. And after my husband stepped outside to deal with a work call she turned psycho on me. Ignored my repeated request for another vodka cranberry. I asked why the bad service and she went on a rant about me causing problems there in the past and my husband speaking to her about not serving me. I had never visited this establishment prior to my husbands birthday (married 17 yrs.). When my husband got back in I explained what had happened. He let me know that when he and friends go to this establishment they avoid this bartender because she has a history of causing problems. We left and enjoyed an evening without the drama. read more

Love this place! It's an authentic British Pub. The people are really fantastic, but it might be because they know the people that I infrequently visit with (who themselves visit quite frequently). The biggest plus is that they have Cider - all kinds! Do yourself a favor and order a Manger's - amazing. The appetizers were really great too. I had to fight for them amongst my pals. The atmosphere is pretty nice. They usually have soccer on the telly. If I had to knock them for something it'd be parking. I wish there was a better spot for my motorcycle, but they let me put it on the sidewalk and pointed me toward a good spot, so all is well. Good times! read more

I've been to St. Andrew's Tavern probably at least 10 times in the past few years when I come down to visit my parents & each time the food has always been on point. Today, we stopped in at about 3:30 & there was a sign on the door saying it wouldn't be opened until 4:30 since its New Years Day; however, we heard loud cheering inside. The bartender explained she opened early for the soccer game but food wouldn't be served until 4:30. Ok, that's cool because we planned on playing darts first anyway. Drank 2 Stella Artois & played darts with mom & she kicked my ass all over the place multiple times but it's all good. Lol at 4:30, the bartender told us she was going to order our food & asked what we wanted: Fish & Chips & Shepherd's Pie. My mom specifically asked for the Shepherd's Pie to be served piping hot. About 10 minutes later the food came out & the bartender had specifically asked for our fish & chips to be split & served on two plates to make it easy for us. My fish was hot, my mother's fish not even luke warm. The Shepherd's Pie was ice cold. She took my mom's fish & the pie back & a few minutes later brought it back. My mom's fish had clearly been microwaved because it was dry inside but soggy on the outside. The Shepherd's Pie which has always been my favorite now has GIGANTIC pieces of onion in it that is off putting & simply doesn't belong in the dish. I can understand chopped up finely & mixed in the ground meat but the huge slices I picked out were odd & it changed the texture & the flavor profile & not in a positive way. I have to say I liked the bartender very much because she only charged us for one piece of fish as opposed to two & if I could give 2.5 stars I would for her sake; however, because of the food experience & also because the dingy, dark, & incredibly smoky ambiance, I just can't give more than 2 stars. I understand that in FL, if the establishment is more of a bar than a restaurant, patrons are allowed to smoke but holy crap it's vile. My eyes were burning & I was bombarded by the smoke in my nostrils & mouth for hours afterwards even. I think we will be searching for a different pub to play darts & eat at next time I'm down that doesn't allow smoking. read more

Traditional, family-owned British pub. The food is great ; moderately priced but large portions. Shepard's Pie, Sausage Rolls and Pasties are my favorites. They have a full liquor bar (as long as you don't want a girlie-drink) and imported beers on tap. There is a separate room for metal-tipped darts and the place gets packed with fans for Football (soccer) games. It's Tuesday, I got nothing to do and I'm out exploring bars. St. Andrews is not too far from the house and a little shepherd's pie seems to be the ticket. Started out with a pint of Foster's and unfortunately, they were out of Shepherd's Pie, so fish and chips it is. The fish and chips were good and HUGE portions. Waitresses with British accents.(me like) Deana was my waitress and bartender - extremely friendly and attentive. And as Deana describes it, "eat, drink and smoke."
