The Quilted Goat

The Quilted Goat

This new shop opened in the late spring 2023. It's the only Quilt store that simply a quilting shop…read morein Clovis. It has a different focus than the other sewing and quilting shops in the Fresno area. Mary Kay, the proprietor is a charming and lovely woman Very attentive to detail. The shop is in an old house. It's been converted to the store. Behind the store there is a converted garage where she has a classroom and holds classes. Check out the calendar. The calendar lists sewing days that you can sign up for, and classes with a variety of techniques for many different types of styles and interests of all types of Quilters. Now down to the Fabrics. She has a focus on Lori Holt from Riley, Blake fabric manufacturer, fresh, bright, and pretty. She also carries a number of major lines from Moda, including the collection for a cause, French general, which is sort of a romantic, antique look, and also Andover prints by laundry basket, quilts. These are things that greatly interest me and other shops in town tend to focus more on modern fabrics and modern quilting with a lot of batiks and modern prints. So I'm glad The Quilted Goat is focused on providing a different sort of inventory. In addition, The Quilted Goat carries a lot of pre-cuts, plus fat quarters if you just want to select a few little pieces to fill out your stash or sample things. She has a whole wall of notions. This is towards the back of the shop. The shop is decorated in kind of a vintage style vibe. Additionally, there are many quilts and samples of sewing on display. One of the quilts, a disappearing nine patch was beautifully displayed, and there is a class coming up on that at the end of January this year 2024 every room has something inspiring, fun, vibrant to get your quilting juices flowing. Mary Kay sends out a newsletter which you can also find on her website. In my opinion, this is the best quilting store in town.

This looks like another narrow antique store with vintage country items, but if you collect Barbie…read moreor dollhouses, it is a must-stop. There's a booth toward the back with baggies of Barbie and Ken shoes and clothes (both vintage and handmade clothes). There are actual built dollhouses and many racks and bins of dollhouse miniatures, too! Prices look reasonable: the Skipper shoes I bought would have cost at least as much on etsy or eBay. Staff is very nice: lets you browse without being all over you.

located near a secret garden flower & gift shop, country rose 2 & the antique mall, this small but…read moreorganized shop is packed full of extraordinary finds. the wood flooring feels so good to walk on bc the panels are raised & it feels like your feet are being massaged as you stroll through section by section. it's funny how there are so many antique shops on one street, yet each one is so different from the next, whatever you're looking for - or whatever finds you in these antique shops, will be a perfect fit in your home however you choose to curate them. when we went to country rose, the thing that stood out most was their vintage disney, vintage diy linens & historical figurines of the past. inside rosenbery's old town trading, you'll find a vast selection of ornate antique furniture with intricate wood details, gorgeous framed art of figures of the 18th & 19th century - as well as home goods items. i found a beautiful, mint, made in england ceramic mug set of 4 for $28 which i thought a great value for the set. compared to mug sets at target, it was definitely worth the purchase; an ornate vintage marie antoinette style lamp & a bone china queen elizabeth 2 coronation souvenir dish which was issued in england in 1952 during her coronation as queen. what finds! i was elated!! there are also vintage postcards, stickers, barbie everything (a whole section in the back) if you're into collecting vintage barbie. the gentleman at the counter was super friendly & helpful. when we bought our antique style lamp he made it easy for us to carry it out (it's heavy & fragile) to our car by helping us as we had other heavy, breakable items. this place is very much worth a visit!
