Amazing donut stop! After touring the college and creative reuse store nearby, we had a hankering for some donuts and found this 24 hour shop! It's the only location in Texas! I got a powder sugar round with Bavarian cream piped in and BOY it was so soft, delicious and fresh! Hubs and kiddo got a blueberry fritter (first time seeing this flavor and they had cherry too) and old fashioned cinnamon. So many unique and fun flavors from simpson character flavors to Andes mint to The Elvis. Definitely going to come back when I'm in the area, whatta fun stop. Being married to an Amy, we had to try out Amy's Donuts on our most recent trip to Denton. They're open 24hrs, and have a wide selection of gourmet donuts and pastries. They have a cooler with milk, juice, and sodas if you'd like a drink, and have a drive-thru window for convenience. The staff were very friendly, and didn't seem to mind explaining all of the specialty donuts that they have to offer. I picked the blueberry old fashioned which had a nice strong blueberry flavor. The glaze was sweet but not too sweet. The cake itself could have been a bit more moist. It was a cross between dense and airy. The pumpkin cake donut had plenty of cinnamon/nutmeg/all spice flavor. This donut was pretty dense and not very sweet. A good option for people who don't like very sugary things. It had a cream cheese icing on it that added a light sweetness and moist factor. The rocky road was the most sweet and my favorite. The donut itself was very soft and did not get stale quickly. I was able to finish the donut a day later. The chocolate, caramel, marshmallow drizzles all created a wonderfully sweet flavor with a light crunch from the pecan crumbled. There were very cute murals on the wall, perfect to capture behind a picture of your donut selection. I also love that there is a handwashing station available in the dining area. So convenient! Absolutely, hands down, without a morsel of a doubt- the WORST donuts I have ever come across in my life. We ordered FOUR of them, and each were entirely inedible. I'm talking, I had to spit them out as soon as I began chewing. I couldn't even give them a courtesy swallow. My 5 year old had the lemon frost and she said "it tastes like cheese". I tried the strawberry frost and it was sour. My husband tried the maple bacon and he said it was like the bacon was rancid. We heard so many great things about this donut shop but were disappointed. We went through the drive-through at about 7:30pm and ordered one gourmet and one blueberry donut. The gourmet was probably the most low-effort donut I've ever purchased, and it tasted mostly like the oil in which it had been cooked. The blueberry donut was as dry as it looks in the picture. They tasted as if they had been haphazardly made at 7:30 in the morning and by the end of the day we were being served the leftover dregs. I'm sad to see that Schlotzsky's is gone but I approve of a large 24 hour donut shop taking its place. First visit was Saturday, and it was a bit overwhelming seeing all the different selections of specialty donuts. It had warm feeling, staff put of good vibes that made me feel welcomed. I've paid top dollar for some premium donuts and $.69 cents for the average Korean donut shop donuts. These are very fairly priced for $2.19 each. My top is the Lemon Strawberry. Maple Bacon: 1st time trying it and its very odd to me, if you like it go for it :) but try it somewhere else 1st if you never had it. The Lemon Crumb, not it, and personally same for the apple pie, its too much dough. Cool concept 24 hours and I highly rec you nuking it for 25 seconds and the donut turns out hot and good. Attended the soft opening of Amy's donuts and it did not disappoint. There was a line out the door to feed everyone's sweet tooth. First of all the location is perfect, huge parking lot that is shared with fuzzy. They have placers inside that are 6 ft apart for you to stand on and the inside is rather large. The selection of donuts is very extensive, from glazed to gummy worms, there is something for everyone. They also have pigs in a blanket and a selection of different bottled drinks. I'm obsessed with the Nutella fluff donut, it's so good and tastes really fresh even being at 7pm at night. I'm impressed with the customer service we received by Mia. She was extremely sweet and patient as my mom and I were making our selections. Not to mention it was loud and talking through a mask can be challenging. She is great!
