I popped in here unexpectedly because the other Location or the other donut shop I went to was closed on Mondays. I was beyond pleasantly surprised. The staff was very nice and I was able to get in and out very quickly. I even noticed they had a couple of tables on the side which made for a nice hang out if you wanted to eat your donuts immediately. I prefer basic glazed donuts, and the donuts that they had here were excellent! They were soft and airy, and had just the right amount of balance when it comes to sweetness. These small local shops always seem to have that fresh tasting, wonderfully airy texture to their yeast, chocolate frosted donuts that I prefer. They are rarely thick, doughy and stale tasting. Delicious Donuts, Great Staff! The staff here is very friendly and welcoming. They have a wide selection of Classic Donuts, Cake Donuts, Long Johns, Cinnamon Rolls, Muffins, Kolache, Pastries and more. They do close at 1pm, so make sure you arrive as early as possible to get the best selection of donuts. My first visit here was around 12:30pm and they only had a few donuts left. So the earlier, the better. The interior is basic, but very clean. No seating for guests, so you'll have to take your donuts to-go. As for the Donuts, they taste fresh and satisfying. This place far exceeded my expectations. I've been trying a few donut/kolache places around town. So far the Denton Donuts shop is my favorite, and they also have very good prices. Even the basic glazed donut was delicious, with a fluffy texture and not too sweet. I thought the Apple fritter was fine. And the sausage roll was so good! The bread was nice and buttery. I can't say enough about this place. The donuts are SO fresh and I know this is weird but the oil tastes CLEAN. Clean oil really affects the taste of the things you fry and too many places neglect to keep this in check. They never serve day-old donuts which is a relief. Nothing worse than expecting a fresh donut to find it's stale. If you go in close to closing time the owner will always throw in some extra donuts for you. Donut perfection can be found here. The donuts are round, not square, not hexagonal, just round with holes. The donuts are cooked wonderfully and have an extremely tasty glazing or frosting. This is the closest thing to Shipley's that you can get in Denton. Except they're actually better. This is now the goto donut place for me and my son on Saturday mornings. Also, the gracious shopkeepers present a manner that is a rare combination of pleasant and professional which makes customers feel welcomed and appreciated. I believe the excellent customer service at this place makes the donuts all the more scrumptious. My personal favorite donut at Denton Donut Shop is the chocolate glazed donut. There are tables also available if you want to have your donut and beverage at the shop. I usually have coffee with my donut but I have noticed that they also have juice, milk, and soda available. The word must be spreading about how good this place is because the last time I was there, I noticed they had hired extra help for the counter. I also noticed several people buying multiple dozens of donuts at a time to take to various weekend morning groups. If you live in Denton, do yourself a favor and take yourself to Denton Donut Shop.
