As per my prior review, my third experience here is what will keep me from ever coming back. It was my birthday, and I thought I would treat myself to a new set of nails. I was excited, and had my design on my phone ready to show them. (I really thought they were experienced and amazing artists so I didn't think twice). The design was tortoise shell. Similar to a cheetah design. I showed a video of how it's done for reference. The artist said sure she can try. While she painted my gel nails clear, she asked to see the design on my phone again. With WET CLEAR GEL NAILS, I reached to show her again. Unfortunately, one of my nails got scratched from picking up the phone. I felt so bad, and apologized for it being messed up. And she had the audacity to SHRUG OUT LOUD. As if she wasn't the one who asked me to reach and show her my phone? I was already annoyed and felt badly mistreated. After her first attempt at the design, I knew she wasn't comfortable with it, and I didn't care for it to be honest so I suggested we try something else. She was annoyed. And don't you just love when they just start speaking Vietnamese to their other coworkers??? As if it's not obvious that they are talking TRASH! Not like I had her do all ten fingers in that design.. and have her redo them all!!! Just one. And I am the one paying for your services, you'd think they would be concerned with satisfying their customers? Guess not. Overall, I paid 90$. That's including my 20$ tip that honestly this rude woman didn't even deserve with her sub par artistry and trash attitude. And on top of that she was aggressively drilling my nails. At one point I said ouch, and she just grabbed my hand and started drilling again. I ended up bleeding on two nails.. NOT ONE APOLOGY. I gave her a 100$ and asked for 10$ back. And she was upset about that!!! I couldn't believe it. The owner seems nice, but her employee was rude and she really should have a talk with her. Will not be returning. And if you believe your money is important, and you want to be treated friendly and appreciated. Do not come here! Oh and PS. As soon as you walk through the door, you won't be greeted with a friendly hello. You will be told abruptly to "GO WASH YO HAND!!!!" It was unpleasant to see how many customers would walk in, and not understand them or be caught off guard.
I want to start out with the fact that it is great to have someone like Trina actually care about making your nails look gorgeous..she explains the cost of every single thing that she did ON PAPER!! I appreciate not only that but, my nails haven't looked this pretty in a LOOONG time! I do wish she was a bit quicker however, you just havta adjust your time is all.. Glad I've returned to this salon!
Very unwelcoming staff, just plopped me down in a seat and had me wait for at least 10 mins before anyone even spoke to me. My nails were only 2 weeks old and I just needed a fill, but the lady told me my nails were old and I should've gotten a full set. (Not true) They kept burning my nail bed with the filing drill and she acted annoyed I kept telling her to stop because it was hurting. They were sloppy and careless My nails have bubbles visible and I asked for coffin shaped nails and she had no idea what i was talking about, now my nails are all different shapes and look like crap. I will definitely be going elsewhere to get them fixed
Do not go there!! 0 stars if I could...I went to get a pedicure and a fill... well 2 hours later I now have a TERRIBLE acrylic set. Totally ruined. After having had my nails done for years this is by far the worst job and experience ever. 30 minutes for a pedicure was great but 1.5 hours for a fill? That looks like it was done by a child. So bad and it hurt with the file! Like was I the first person she has ever done nails on? Uneven and paint is already coming off in 12 hours! I tried to communicate this with the nail tech but she just looked at me like I was crazy and she didn't understand any English and I couldn't understand anything she said. Very uncomfortable and she didn't finish until after close when everyone and all the other employees were leaving. Also I had a babysitter for my kids so I couldn't wait another 30 minutes to have them redone. Couldn't wait to get out of there but now I'm really regretting stepping foot inside. Save yourself the bad experience!!
Amy Nails is open for business. Just remember to wear a mask. Otherwise you will have to purchase one for $2.00.
My friend came with me and the nail tech who did her nails, is named Trina. She admitted to not being good at acrylic nails as if we couldn't tell. She started making excuses that we were their last customers and she has to drive who knows how long from salt lake everyday. Like, just do her nails so you don't have to drive so fricken long then. My friend told Trina that her nails were crooked and she didn't like the shape. Trina straight up gave her the nail file so she could fix them herself but there was no way to fix her mistakes. Trina said that she liked them. So my friend told her that she's not the one going home with them. Trina charged her $50. My friend didn't want to pay that much for nails that she didn't like but Trina went on and on about why she's charging her $50. So my friend payed her just so she could shut up. Ps Her nail broke as soon as we got home.
I just brought my mom here to get a pedicure done. They had a discount code on their yelp page. And because I guess they're switching owners they didn't honor the 10%. Mind you that was on their page. Really bad service. And a bad way to do business. I will be spreading the word not to go here because the customer service is terrible.
Just got my nails done with 2 others and we were in and out within 40 minutes. After we got there, more people arrived in parties of 2-4 and they were promptly greeted and shown to either a seat or table. I dont think anyone waited for more than 5 minutes even without an appointment. In our party, all of us got gels and 2 of us got designs. We are really happy with what we got and the price. Gels are $12 and with a design, they are $17. This is pretty cheap since I usually get gels and a regular pedicure for $38 in socal. The staff is friendly and I wish they were up for more of a challenge as far as designs, but I love what I got. And other than the initial french mani chemical smell when you first walk in, we had a great experience. I'd come back when I visit UT.
I was a walk in client yesterday and Anh took me right away. She listened to me, fixed the mistakes that another salon did to my nails, and talked to me like a regular person. She connected with me, and I can honestly say that I will be an ongoing customer of hers. I was referred to her by a friend and now if she ever leaves I will follow her wherever she goes. She is amazing. I've told all of my friends about her. Thank you so much for working magic on my hands. I'm so thankful I met you. The first photo is what I went in with. I wanted an ombré and that's what they gave me. The second photo is what Anh did. She is a miracle worker and excellent at what she does.

I am completely shocked! My husband and I don't normal get manicures or pedicures but because Valentine's day is coming up, we decided why not. I looked online for salons with good reviews but nothing really stood out to me. I came across Amy Nails Salon because it was the closest to where we live. The reviews weren't great but we took a chance and i am so glad we did!! I will definitely be coming back in the future. The service was quick. The staff were so kind. The salon was cute and clean! The cost was reasonable. I wish i knew the gal who did my nails but she did such a great job. I am so in love with my nails and will be returning in the future. My husband enjoyed getting a pedicure (his first time) and again the staff was very kind. read more

Overall very disappointed. I was rushed to pick a color and the other artists were picking through the basket taking color samples right out of my hands. The artist that I had was so rough with my hands and fingers she made me bleed. The artist was rushing and I told her multiple times to slow down. I told her I wanted them round multiple times I ended up giving up telling her. My nails are overall terrible, I wont ever go back and never ever recommend this place. read more

The prices here are about the same as other salons in the area with some services costing a few dollars more- nothing too bad. The people in the shop were nice and greeted me as soon as I came in. I came as a walk-in around 10:30am on a Tuesday. I paid $63 for a pedicure and full set with gel polish. The ombre nails I wanted would have been $50 so I just went with a normal gel polish. I wanted an almond shape. What I got is more of a rounded stiletto. I didn't say anything initially because I kept thinking she would shape them up later in the process. I realized that wasn't happening when she sent me to the pedicure tub and had not drilled underneath the nails. There were lumps of acrylic underneath the nails, one being quite large. I don't know if she just forgot to file there or what. Even after the went over them, the big spot was still visible in the nail. The nails aren't what I asked for but the polish is pretty and they're mostly smooth and well-done. I would give the full set a 3.5 for now, but I'm expecting some separation between my nail and the acrylic since she did not file them well with a pointed bit like most nail techs. She was very nice though. A different person did my pedicure. My feet didn't even soak for 5 minutes before she started. There were only a few other people in the shop so I don't understand the rush. I knew she was moving too quickly to do a good job and surely enough my heels were not smooth. She didn't understand English (this is not a complaint...I don't care about that) so I mentioned it to the other woman who was sort of translating. She told me that my skin is dry and I need to put Vaseline on my feet when I get home. I sleep with Vaseline on my feet. I know how it works. I've also had good pedicures and know I should not be walking out with visible white skin on my foot. My feet are not that bad because I maintain them at home. She simply did a half-@ss job and was not even checking with her fingers to see if my feet were smooth. I also want to point out that the tools were not packaged. As she used tools, she just put them back in the cart. No autoclave packaging in sight. After she scrubbed my feet, she rinsed the purple sponge/stone off IN THE SAME WATER MY FEET WERE IN and placed it back into a drawer. When she removed the liner, she dumped the water into the tub. I never seen that before because it defeats to purpose of using the liner. I thought the polish was okay but when I got home and looked closer, I could see polish on my skin. The polish job is nice and smooth, but it is as neat as it looks when I do it myself. I won't be coming here again because of the unsanitary practices and being told to use Vaseline when I just paid $25 for them to have my feet smooth. I'm looking for a shop in the area that sterilizes their tools and will do a good job without me having to point out the flaws. They are the professionals and I should not have to do that. I am not a confrontational person and this is what I hate about looking for a new nail shop. Recommendations in the Layton area would be greatly appreciated. read more

I have gone in twice as a walk-in and they took maybe 5-10min to get me seated. Both times I had designs and they were both really cute! They seem to be busy all the time so you might want to make a reservation. Some of them remembered my name which surprised me. Friendly people but I am not sure if you can pick the person that do your nails. read more

Found the best nail shop in Utah, I just moved here from Miami FL and was looking for a good place with wonderful staff to get gel nail on my hands and feet.. Omg the massage alone was amazing! I highly recommend this shop, Anna the manager and staff are very friendly and do an amazing job... I brought in a pic of what I wanted and got exactly that! I was sitting next to a lady and asked how long she was coming there she said "about two years and during my chemo they were very gentle and kind" that says a lot! Good job Amy's . read more

Terrible experience. I am NEVER one to leave reviews, but I am infuriated. Came with my best friend and my sister, they sat us after twenty minutes, left my friend soaking her nails for 1 whole hour, half-assed my nails, the nail tech did my nails SO fast the tops of my nails are splotchy, my flesh on my pointer finger was ripped off, and they talked in their language in front of us for a good 15 minutes without acknowledging us, then did my sister's nails, they're practically translucent on the bottom, there is paint ALL over my fingers, and my friend was still soaking by the time we were done. Needless to say, I am NEVER coming back here, I wasted $70 and almost TWO HOURS. I do not recommend. read more

Amy Nails Salon is by far the best place to go in Layton to get your nails done. I have been getting my nails done for over 20 years. I moved to Layton three years ago and tried several places and was not happy, so I stopped getting my nails done altogether. I am beyond ecstatic that I have found a nail salon with people that actually care about doing a good job. They communicated with us and genuinely cared. This is definitely unlike any place I've ever been. Ann and Henry are amazing, but I've been told that everyone there is amazing. Highly recommended!!! 5 Stars! read more

I love Amy Nails! The ladies that work there are great at what they do- they are attentive to what you want, helpful, and communicative. Cindy did Shellac polish on my nails last week- I requested French tip and she did a fab job. I also got a cute Halloween pumpkin design, done by one of the men that worked there (didn't ask name). read more

I went to this site because I wanted to get my nails. I'm looking to find a place that I can go to and be a regular in. I asked if they do gel nails like the long ones they said they do. Came in and they said a gel full set was 38 but they had to be short.... $5 more for longer nails. The lady hurt my nail continuously and I've never heard of a place charging more for long nails. Also if you wanted a shape other than square it was extra. I ended up with this... I dislike my nails no much and will never go back. read more
