The first time I came in, my hairdresser did a fantastic job. She was charming, funny and okay with lapses in conversation. I can't remember her name otherwise I would request her every time. She kept her station tidy and clean, and the whole atmosphere is trendy, fun and vibrant. It feels like you're in LA or NYC. I superbly enjoyed my time there. She listened to me with my hair troubles and complaints as I was acclimating my long, curly hair from a damp humid climate to a dry and arid climate, and erred on the safe side when I requested a trim - she didn't go overboard, or create an underwhelming standard. It was great.
However the second time - I was given a new hairdresser. I should have asked what her version of two inches was. I went in with hair down to my lower back and came out with hair just below my shoulders. On what WORLD is that difference two inches? How do you fit eight inches into two, pray tell? I don't know but somehow she did it. She should have pursued a physics degree. I paid, and never looked back. From now on I will be trimming my own hair. At least it saves anyone else if I screw up. At least I know what two inches of hair look like.
Overall, I like this place. I like the feeling and layout. I may go back in the future, especially if they advertise ethnically savvy hairdressers. But for now, you can find me in my bathroom trimming my own hair. read more
