Worse still the manager refused to refund me even though I had to go have my hair fixed elsewhere that day. She offered me conditioner for my ruined shirt. Which I didn't even get that. But would not call me when I asked her to. I have never been treated like this by any company, ever! The girl who did my hair, as well as the manager both admitted that they knew my roots looked bad. But she didn't have the time to fix it that day. So I was just supposed to walk around for a week with bad hair when I paid almost $300. The color was not at all what I asked for but if we put that aside. It was not evenly spread across my hair and my roots were literally 3 different colors. The haircut alone looked like a toddler took scissors to my hair. I had to cut off more hair to fix that, when I didn't want short hair. Lets also not forget my ruined shirt. Still with everything that went wrong, the manager felt I didn't deserve any refund. She is wrong is this belief. Because you pay for a service. If a painter came to your house and didn't paint evenly, ruined your carpet and knocked a hole in your wall you would not be paying for that. BEYOND DISAPPOINTED!!! read more

Shortly before my 9:30am appointment, Kassidy requested that I move my appointment time because she messed up on her schedule, so we agreed on 12pm. That same day. Right before noon, she cancelled again and said she won't be coming in. I asked if she could recommend someone else at the salon to cut my hair. I had a business meeting the next day so I was desperate. Kassidy went silent and never answered or even followed up to schedule another day, or even apologize. I have worked with Kate at shear envy 3 times now and I really like her. I could chat it up with her all day long! She put weft extensions in my hair and she works so quickly and efficiently. She's very talented and knows what she's doing for sure. My extensions have stayed in tight in between sessions. One time I didn't like how high forward they sat so she scheduled me back in ASAP and quickly fixed the issue, no hassle. She's the best. read more

I love this place! The staff was so friendly. My boyfriend had hair that was at least 12 inches long and he wanted to get it all cut off. I wanted to get bangs done! We both were soo happy with the results and happy to see masks on all the employees to protect customers :) will be going here for touch ups in the future. read more

Took my 8 year old in for a hair cut. They were able to get her in on a same day appointment on a Saturday. The woman who took care of her (Mary?) was awesome. She was super sweet and did what my daughter asked for her hair. She even gave her a cute style surprise. The price for a child's cut was under $10 if you don't get the shampoo, conditioner and style, which I think is very reasonable. Overall, we couldn't have been happier. read more

I've been to this salon a few times for a brow wax and honestly never left disappointed. Today I went in for my first cut and color (my old guy is in salt lake & I haven't found a great place since living in this area) I'd like to start by saying I really liked the girl who did my hair. She was extremely sweet and friendly. I'm not sure what her name was but she was good! I explained what I wanted and had pics of it from previous times. I did a platinum, a Carmel and then a reddish brown color. Hair is extremely hard to judge when it's wet, once it was dry I realized you couldn't really see the blonde at all. You can barely see it in spots but not really & definitely not I thought I had said I was going for. I figured I'd get used to it and just deal with it for now. I thought maybe I was being too picky or I just wasn't noticing it. I asked about coming back and having just blonde touched up and she said about 4-6 weeks. Ugh I guess I could wait. When I got home the hubby didn't even know nor could he tell my hair had been colored, he thought I just got it trimmed. When I told him I had 3 colors and a cut he was shocked. That's when I really felt cheated out of a good hair coloring & he felt bad that I wasted my Mother's Day gift on a trim. All in all I spent $130 +tip for a really nice gal & a trim more than any color and am kinda bummed about it. Honestly, based on this, I dont think I would recommend this salon at all for hair and I'm hoping the hubby will let me spend more money to get it fixed. read more

Found this place while vacationing in Utah. Upon entering I noticed it was clean and the employees were extremely friendly. My stylist (wish I could remember her name) was fantastic...love my hairstyle. If ever in Utah and need a haircut and/or eyebrow wax, this is the place to go. Friendly staff. I appreciate their willingness to share information on how to best care for different hair issues. Did a wonderful job on my hair and helped get it looking less damaged from a bad hair dye experience from another salon. Going back today to get a follow up trim. Clean facility with friendly and competent staff. Also, great pricing. You aren't paying a car payment to get your hair done! I like that!!! Our 1st time visiting this area and was so happy to be able to get an appointment. I can't be certain but I believe my hairdresser was Shannen (sorry if I'm wrong). She said she's been a hairdresser for 10 months. She was very personable, professional and caring. My haircut was great and my color and highlights are very good. The way she blew out my hair then used the flat iron was not really the way I liked it. But no big deal I did it my way when I got home. I believe as she gets more experience she will be excellent. We were in the area and my daughter really wanted to make a big change. I made an appointment for her to get a cut and when we arrived we realized we should have made an appointment for a full cut/wash/style. They were super nice and accommodating, especially since my daughter is blessed (or cursed) with extraordinarily thick hair. Lindsey was amazing! She was able to talk with my daughter to help her figure out what she really wanted and really took her time. My daughter was very happy and left with a cool, edgy look that I thought was adorable. But she's a teen, so I just told her it was cool. I so wish we lived nearby! Though with super saver fares, it might be worth it to be able to go back. I highly recommend! read more

Whatever you do, don't go here. Worst haircut and color I've ever gotten. I asked for a partial balayage and cut. I definitely did not get that. She foiled my entire hair and did not even do my 3 inch grown out roots. The haircut is worse than the color. It is so uneven and choppy, she had no idea how to cut my coarse thick hair. Then when it came time for the blow dry, she used her fingers. Her fingers! And was petting my hair like a dog. Never once picked up a brush or round brush to dry my hair. Usually a blow dry and style means they use a round brush.. nope. So my roots were still wet when she attempted to straighten my hair, still using her fingers. She started to straighten about 3 inches away from the root. I have thick, wavy, frizzy hair. She had no idea what on earth she was doing. I still can't decide what was worse- the blotchy color job, the botched haircut, that it took 2 hours to process a color, that she didn't pick up a brush, that she used zero product on my hair (which requires a heat protectant, finishing oil and hairspray to make it look good, she did none) or that I wasted $135 on this, only to have to find somewhere else to try to fix it. I've been going to Shear Envy for a while now, having had such great experiences before, and decided to purchase two gift certificates for my mother so she could have her hair highlighted. Unfortunately my mother was unable to use the gift and asked me to return it. I had called to request info on how to do the refund and what I would need for it, seeing as the cashiers never gave me a receipt for them. The girl did not know the answer so she offered to have the manager call me back but, after four weeks passed, no calls were returned to me. I went in personally with the certificates and asked for a refund however the girl did not know the answer either and called her manager to ask if it was even possible. I was severely disappointed to learn that there was no refund available, this was never explained before purchasing these certficates, and that the certificates will expire. In other words, this business is ready to take 100 dollars I gave to them with out us receiving a service in return or a refund for a service we will not be using. In my eyes, that's nothing short of underhanded dishonesty and robbery. I'm extremely saddened by this occurrence and hope no one else will have to deal with this problem in the future as no solution has even been offered to correct it. read more
