Can't say enough about Trey and G'town Taxi! I had a 6am flight and needed a ride to the airport at…read morethe inhumane hour of 4am. I had looked at airport shuttles before thinking of checking local taxi prices, and I was thrilled to discover that my hometown taxi was less $ than the airport shuttle (which is some chain and not independent), AND by going with G'town taxi, I got to determine exactly when I wanted to be picked up--not so with the airport shuttle! With the shuttle, I'd have to share the van with others (I'm not anti-social or anything, but the idea of not having to ride w/ppl before the crack of dawn was appealing to me), AND therefore I'd have to leave the house at 2:00am in order to catch my flight (to account for picking up other passengers). Ick! 2am!!!!???? And I'd be paying more than a car I got all to myself. No brainer, really. Okay, so that was already great, but then it got greater--Trey was super-responsive, never seemed to mind my near-psychotic need to confirm the pickup time via text like three times leading up to the day (I tend to be a worrier, hah), and then he was super-professional, courteous, and careful in person. The ride was as smooth as can be, he was there exactly when he said he would be, and he was a true gentleman in opening my door for me both at pickup and drop-off. G'town taxi is most definitely my go-to mode of transportation whenever I can't drive myself. Thanks, Trey!

SCAM ALERT! Avoid hiring GEORGETOWN TAXI AND LIMO at all costs!! I hired them for a 12 person…read moresprinter van on Friday for a ride to and from Austin with a group of friends. They gave me a deal cause it was last minute but they told me because of that I had to pay them upfront in CASH APP. I should have known better but they said they've been in business 30 years and they needed that cause it was discounted. So it made sense to me. I paid them $300 upfront. All of us were gonna pitch in for it. They CANCELLED on me 10 minutes before they were supposed to pick up. They didnt even provide a different vehicle or any other option. They said they would refund my money immediately. They didnt. And now they are ghosting my calls and texts and nobody is getting back to me. Turns out I looked deeper into they have scammed several people. They are representing Georgetown as their "local limo" service. Mistakes happen and I am understanding but as a business owner you always take care of the customer when problems happen or at least pick up their calls. I feel so burned.

We booked a weekend trip on a few buses for a couple hundred students. Ride was a little bumpy, AC…read moreran a little cold, but generally there were very few complaints up until the ride back when the breaks went out on one of the vehicles, and a bus full of students began rolling backwards in the middle of the freeway. We had to take a one-hour detour to rendezvous on the side of the road. To add insult to injury, our bus driver refused to stop at Buc-ees after the incident. No doubt a quick stop for a brisket sandwich would have eased tensions. I can confidently say this was the WORST chartered bus experience I've ever had. I want my refund and my sandwich.

We hired Clark Travel for our wedding transportation for the wedding party and all of our guests…read more We ordered two 56-person charter busses for 10 hours each. On the day of the event, the wedding party was picked up by one 56-person charter bus and two smaller busses (without bathrooms) - we were not informed of the change of plans and paid extra for the luxury buses with bathrooms. All buses were then supposed to pick up guests at our hotel block downtown after dropping off the wedding party. Only the charter bus went to pick people up and after the bus filled up, the bus driver informed the remaining guests another bus would be there shortly. There wasn't. More than 20 guests had to pay for an Uber/Lyft to attend our wedding, several of which missed the ceremony. Upon reaching out for a refund, we were offered a measly 10% discount and they would not budge. It then took them 6 weeks to process our request and we are still awaiting a check. While customer service in the planning phase was top-notch, their handling of the service day-of and resolution after-the-fact was piss-poor at best. Would recommend finding another vendor over Clark Travel.

So this is a long overdue review for a business that sets the bar for what all other transportation…read moreservices should be. Years ago, I stumbled upon them on complete accident - funny how life works out. I had a very last-minute trip and needed a ride to the airport. I contemplated Uber but didn't trust their driver availability for an early morning flight. Pat promptly returned my call and I booked our first trip with him. We later found out he does field his own calls so he may not answer the phone if he is driving (which I appreciated when I was in the car). As others have mentioned, Pat is a great conversationalist and a wealth of information. Having grown up in the area, he knows it like the back of his hand. On a more recent airport trip, my SO discovered he forgot something, and Pat offered to make a stop at the store so we could buy it before we departed. This gesture alone demonstrates how above and beyond he is willing to go to make sure you have everything you need. Not only that, but he knew exactly where a store was when we were driving on a random section of Toll road. And there I was in the backseat still trying to pull up my Google Maps. It is his consistent attention to detail that we most appreciate. He texts us the day before pickup so we can sleep well knowing he'll be there tomorrow. He keeps an eye on our flight status and will text if there's any delays. He also keeps an eye on TSA wait times so we know what to expect when we get to the airport. And of course, all his cars are spotless, well-maintained and sanitized between each trip. The short of it is that this is a locally-owned business I am glad to continue to support for years to come. Thanks for your punctuality and professionalism at all the ungodly hours of the morning. See you on our next trip in a few months or so!

My husband and I recently moved to Round Rock and had an international trip planned a few months…read morelater. We didn't want to leave our car parked at the Austin airport for 2 weeks, and knew we'd be jet-lagged on our return. I feel fortunate to have found A Cheap Ride and Pat Johnson. As it turned out, our first experience with Pat showed exactly how good he is. Our British Airways flight outbound was delayed, but we received little information on our end as to the reason for the delay or how late the flight might be. Coincidentally, Pat was expecting to pick up a passenger on the inbound non-stop from LHR (which was obviously delayed as well). Through Pat, we found out more than we were able to get online from the carrier! We were also delayed on our return flight, but Pat was there waiting in baggage claim for us. His service is simply over the top. We enjoyed conversing with Pat as he drove. Since he's been in the Austin/Round Rock area for many years, he's accumulated a wealth of knowledge about the area, local people, and local businesses. His retention of information and attention to detail are amazing. And while he's a careful and cautious driver, he made excellent time getting us to and from the airport. Pat is very much in touch with his customers, knows his business well, and cares about the quality of service his company provides. He is an excellent communicator, so you can feel confident that he will keep you informed as to when you'll be picked up. And, most importantly in this type of business, he is reliable, punctual, and does exactly what he says he will. I highly recommend A Cheap Ride for an excellent experience.
