The staff members are always friendly and that includes the owner who is always visible. I have no complaints at all except for the preparation of food and drinks and pricing. My goodness I used to come to this place pre pandemic and would brag about the stuff I got and how good it was. Now not so much. I'm paying double for drinks and food that don't taste the same. I always get a frozen artic mocha with a splash of raspberry. I got one this past Sat and it taste like icy milk water with raspberry. The quiche used to be phenomenal but it's taken a step back. Maybe it was just this time but I paid so much to be un impressed. However my jalapeno cream cheese bagel was fire

The staff are so friendly and even with it being busy (it's the best in town), they are efficient and so polite. There is abundant seating indoors or out on the patio. Parking is on the side of the house or behind. If you have a pet (or kids) that you want to have hang out while you get food, there is plenty of room on the patio. I personally love the iced latte with raw milk and the steak sandwich (or salad!) for lunch while I study. There is good lighting wherever you sit to read or chat with friends and the restroom is handicap accessible and gender neutral. But SHHHHHH! Don't tell everyone this place is here, I don't want to give my secrets away.

Food: I had the waffles with bacon and fresh berries, which made for a really solid breakfast/brunch dish. My wife enjoyed a well-made Cuban sandwich that hit all the right notes. Everything was fresh and satisfying without being over the top. Service: There were quite a few people working in the back, and service was quick and attentive. Multiple staff members checked in, which gave the place a friendly, well-run feel. Aesthetic: The inside has that classic general store charm, with rustic touches and local personality. Out back, there's a small patio with picnic benches, making it a great spot to relax and enjoy the view.

Place your order at the counter, then have a seat in one of the cozy indoor dining rooms or at one of the outdoor tables while your food is prepared to order. The menu at the LGS covers breakfast staples.. such a two-egg platter ($17) with "your favorite breakfast meat" and home fries; mini-waffles with maple syrup and a tasty berry compote ($17) served with "your favorite breakfast meat"; or the omelette du jour ($17).. as well as familiar lunch options.. like an half-pound smashburger ($17), house-roasted turkey sandwich ($17), or chicken Cuban sandwich ($17), as well as lighter fare like the soup du jour ($7) or a grilled chicken Caesar salad ($17). On a recent visit to LGS for a late weekend lunch, my dining companion and I both opted for the simple, but well-executed Cuban, with grilled chicken and ham sandwich on a ciabatta roll with pickles and roasted garlic dijonaise, which was served alongside a very tasty bean and corn salad. Yum! Given the generously-sized sandwiches, we each had half of our sandwich and struggled to finish one of the other halves between us, so we asked for a to-go container to bring the leftover half home for lunch the next day. After lunch, my dining companion also enjoyed an iced coffee served with iced coffee cubes.. so they don't melt and dilute the elixir of the gods! We'll definitely be back next time we're in the area. PRO TIP #1: Lumberville General Store offers free parking in either Pennsylvania in the gravel parking lot just across PA State Route 32 or New Jersey in the Bull's Island Recreation Area, located just across the Delaware on the other side of the Lumberville-Raven Rock pedestrian bridge that is adjacent to the hotel.

I just had to come out of Yelp retirement to write this review…read more We visited New Hope, PA for a few days and decided to hop into this coffee shop before heading home. The interior is very nice, with a lovely communal table, impressive bonsai trees, and bright lighting. But, I certainly would not include the cold and prickly barista as part of the nice vibes. It was early morning when we visited and this man seemed to don a perpetual frown on his face, coupled with an air of annoyance. There was not a single friendly exchange, and as a customer, you almost feel unwelcome in there. It's kind of strange when they don't want your business. I can let all that slide if my beverage was up to par, but, sadly, that was not the case. I paid an arm and a leg for mid-tier lattes that were barely above room temperature. The menu is quite interesting and I have no doubt they use quality ingredients, but even in an economy of heightened or runaway inflation, there is still no excuse for such an exorbitant upcharge, regardless of whether you use ceremonial grade matcha or provide cashew milk as an alternative to dairy. In no world should my two lattes cost over $20.00 unless you sprinkle them with edible gold dust. I'm used to paying a little for high-priced coffee and I see it all the time at the artisanal and hip coffee shops I visit at home in NY. Brooklyn alone has some of the most curated and vibey ones you could ever imagine, so I'm done batting an eyelash when it comes to such coffee shops. Shockingly though, Amsterdam Coffee Bar was even pricier than those spots! It made me suspect if some of that upcharge is to fund their obsession with bonsai trees (which in turn, they flip and sell here). I don't think I need to tell you that peddling bonsai plants and gemstones is a little on the tacky side. Another surprise is that this place is not even in the downtown area so high rent doesn't seem as though it would be a factor. I wouldn't say it's located in the sticks, but, it's certainly a bit more remote and not in a touristy or prime location. A hyper local coffee shop like this should not be charging as much as they do. It's a shame that the locals are being priced gauged all for "decent" coffee. Now I've read some of the snarky Google responses from the business owner and I'm sure he's got an obnoxious retort in the chamber to unleash on this review, but, no bother. I know that they care about customer feedback or else they would not have that Instagram follower counter hanging on their wall! To the locals and visitors here's a PSA; you don't need to go to Starbucks or run off to grab the coffee special at Wawa if you're looking for a respectable coffee shop. There are alternative spots where they respect you enough to appreciate your business and charge reasonable prices for their goods. I would highly recommend Native Cafe in Doylestown, PA (less than a 15 min drive from here), and that place was 100% fabulous. Expect immaculate vibes, service, coffee, and a delicious menu. You won't find bonsai trees or gemstones for sale there, but you'll get a warm and cozy Hygge atmosphere all for free and chances are high that they will even smile at you for your business.

I briefly checked out the menu online and the unique drinks caught my attention. I with with the chocolate peanut butter latter and my wife had a mocha. We also splurged on a vanilla liege waffle and a brownie batter liege waffle. First, drinks were superb. Made pretty quickly and tasty. Mine had a distinct peanut butter flavor. I'd go with a potentially top few lattes I've enjoyed. The mocha my wife got was quite sweet, so more to my preference, but she loved it. She said it made her think of a brownie. While I'm slightly familiar with Belgian waffles, these were also outstanding. I had the vanilla, which is pretty standard, with little, caramel used flecks of pearl sugar. It's dense, but not heavy. Good texture and chewy. Reminiscent of a good pretzel. The one my wife had with brownie mixed in was also great. We actively tried to slow down while eating to enjoy them rather than scarf it down. The location doesn't have a lot of seating, but it's cute. I'd highly recommend a stop and I want to get back there.

The seating works for both couples having a cute coffee date and groups catching up, which I appreciate. They've switched to a kiosk ordering system, and honestly? Kind of a win. Both kiosks can be used, orders move faster, and the staff can focus on making drinks instead of juggling a line. The only downside: no cash and no non-chip gift cards, which feels very "welcome to the future, hope you're prepared!" The staff is genuinely pleasant and even offered to remake my drink if anything went sideways, which automatically earns brownie points. Fair warning though: when it gets busy, it gets TIGHT. Like, "excuse me, sorry, I'm just existing" tight. That said... the drinks are absolutely worth the mild inconvenience. Cozy vibes, good coffee, and friendly staff? I'll gladly come back and do it all over again, preferably during a slightly less crowded moment.

It doesn't seem to matter if the place is empty or packed you'll still wait way too long for food that's pretty mediocre. I really wanted to like this place because the location, decor, and layout are all great. But every time I go, the service feels cold and unwelcoming. No greeting, no friendliness, no sense that they're happy to have customers there. Instead, it feels like you're bothering the staff just by being there or asking a question. And the food is honestly always disappointing. After the first two times, I started sticking to drinks only. What really turned me off was seeing the owner post on social media making fun of negative reviews about long wait times and cold coffee. Those are fair complaints, and customer feedback should be taken seriously, not mocked. I'm sure they'll stay busy because they're in a tourist spot, but I'd save your time and money and go somewhere else.
