I will never step foot in this establishment again. Not only were they very rude but they charge way too much for their food which is at best mediocre. The management was awful to us as well. Would not recommend. We need a good Indian food restaurant in Ocala not full of greedy jerks who don't realize the customer pays their livelihood. read more

I really liked the service and the restuarant as a whole. I decided to go with the combination for one. Which included rice, with chicken tikka, chutney, and a mixture of appetizers. My friend ordered buttered chicken off the menu. I would've preferred to order one simple dish than the combination because it was too much food. I have to say though that my favorite thing was the dessert. I absolutely loved it. read more

First time eating Indian food. It was excellent and clean. Great atmosphere and service. Will definitely go back

I have been looking for an Indian restaurant like this around the US. The food is authentic, delicious, and true to the majestic nature of Moghlai cuisine. We had an unbelievably satisfying lunch topped off with an exquisitely prepared cardamon chai. I also wanted to add that we received personal service from the owners, so it felt very warm, like visiting friends. The restaurant is very well kept and decor beautiful. Five stars for our experience! read more

We ordered a lamb biryani it tasted like tomato rice..the food was overpriced which didn't satisfy both quantity and taste. The server was busy taking a break rather than serving the waiting customer. read more

Awesome place, the food just had the right level of spice. The owners and staff were friendly and were delighted to answer any of our questions. read more

The food was delicious and our service was perfect. Our waiter explained the dishes and condiments and we enjoyed all. The lamb curry was especially tasty. The Tandoori chicken was moist and well spiced. Highly recommend this restaurant. read more

As someone who's been over seas with the Navy in areas like Dubai, Bahrain, Abu Dhabi and being fortunate enough to have had Authentic curry and fresh Naan Bread fresh out of the tandoori... This is about as real as it gets. I've been coming here for over 15 years and this place is a literal delicacy in this town. If you're feeling under the weather, lonely, or just sad in general. I'd recommend this place to you. It'll pick your soul up, dust it off, slap you on the back, and send you back out into the world groaning with pleasure. Do yourself a favor and stop here if you're passing through. You won't regret it. read more

Stopped in at this place for lunch on our journey down south . They don't have a lunch buffet but have lunch specials that end at 2:30 . We ordered from the a la carte menu . The place is nice and big clean and service is fast and good . Now to the food . The paneer burji, chicken tikka masala, and lamb Rogan josh we're good . The chicken biryani I was disappointed with as it was just rice mixed with chicken curry I've had better . And since I'm from India I should know . Overall a good place to eat at . And it is just off I -75 so easy access . Must try if you are in the area . read more

Very good food and service. Highly recommend! We went earlier on a weekday, and it wasn't crowded.

I must agree with everyone else. Amrit is yummy. The lamb curry was terrific. The staff was attentive. It- was crowded and alive. I hope it continues to do well. I will eat here on future trips. read more

Amrit Palace - Indian Near Me - Ocala, Florida

I've been visiting Amrit Palace for nearly twenty years and have always been incredibly happy with their food. The lamb vindloo and rogan josh are particular favorites. I feel like the meals are easily shared between two people if you don't want to get up from the table feeling stuffed and uncomfortable. My dinner partner and I can share a meal and an order of naan and be satisfied. On my last visit I was very underwhelmed by the quality of service. The restaurant was incredibly busy on a Saturday night so we waited for 45 minutes for a table (no problem there, but at least now we know to make reservations) and then, once seated, at least five minutes for someone to come and take our drink order. Service and the kitchen were both slow that night but the food was just as good as always. This is definitely my go-to Indian restaurant in the area and the one I judge others by when I travel. So far I've only found one place I enjoy more and it's in Asheville, NC. read more

We're visiting Florida for 2 months and were so excited to find a highly rated Indian restaurant nearby. What a disappointment. We sat for 5 minutes before a server acknowledged us. We then had to track down someone when our wine was not served after another 10 minutes. We were served chutney with nothing to put it on. The chicken vindaloo was advertised as being very hot, but there was no heat at all. It's the only Indian restaurant we've been to where the enticing aroma of exotic spices was totally lacking. The food was pricey and bland and we will not be back. read more

The entire experience is always amazing. The staff is friendly and helpful. The food is made to perfection. Probably my favorite place in Florida. The first time I came to the restaurant, the owner himself came to speak with us, and gave us a small tour of the restaurant and showed is how the bread was made. If I could give them more than 5 stars, I would. read more

Love this place. Never had a good Indian place to me. Service and food is great. Been in here 5 times and always excellent!

I say the restaurant's sign on I-75 and decided to check it out. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised , the food was flavorful and up to par. I got jeera chicken, daal, naan and rice. They also provided a side plate of green chilies and onions. The sweet lassi was good as well read more

Whenever I visit my hometown this is the only restaurant on my list. I have eaten a lot of Indian food, including in India, and this place is as good as it gets in the US in my book. It has been open since I was a kid, so clearly they are doing something right. Ocala is lucky to have you Amrit Palace! read more

You get amazing Chole-bhature here. Itvwas no oily at all, and taste great. Must try.

Meet some friends for dinner as a halfway point. We had five different people come and wait on us, which caused a little confusion while getting our checks correct, but other than that, very attentive. The food was very good. We had our food within 10-15 minutes of sitting down. Lunch seemed much more responsibly priced, so if we find ourselves in Ocala again, we would go for lunch and not dinner. read more

Had dinner there tonight and it was our first time. I read about them on Yelp and decided to try them and they did not disappoint. The service was great we had (Prince) and the food was good too. Will definitely be back. Thank you read more

What a gem!? This is the best Indian food I've had since moving south. The service is fast and well done. The Chicken Tandoori comes out sizzling, adding a little flare to the dining room. Everything my wife and I ordered was served hot and extremely good. We are very pleased we found this place from a billboard while we were driving south. I highly recommend making the stop in. Wow! I cannot rave about this place enough. I live in South FL and I came to Ocala to visit family. I have Indian cuisine near where I live but nothing like this! The quality, the freshness, and cleanliness of this restaurant is top-notch. The food is absolutely delicious. We got Chicken Tikka Masala, meat samosas, samosa chaat, and naan bread, to go. We even turned back around to try their mashed eggplant. Everything was to satisfaction. I will definitely be back. read more

I have travelled all 50 states, i can say without a doubt this is far and away the finest Indian Cuisine in America, every dish is prepared fresh, the servers are all very knowledgeable, gracious and friendly. The restaurant itself is impeccably clean, this picture was my lunch, all for just $10 ! Previously we had a dish of Rhogan Josh that was so perfectly flavored, so perfectly cooked, the lamb was so tender, the sauce so creamy smooth, that it totally changed my perception of Indian cuisine. read more

Amrit Palace - Indian Near Me - Ocala, Florida

A great find I stopped in Ocala for the night and found Amrit a block from my hotel. I love Indian food so I though I would give it a try. The building and atmosphere were very pleasant. I ordered the Tandoori dinner which included a soup, and appetizer variety plate, the chicken with rice, bread and desert all for $20 and it was a great meal. All of the individual courses were excellent... very flavorful, portions were adequate (the nan was huge) and everything tasted fresh. This was a great Indian meal and I am happy I decided to stop. read more

I remember when amrit palace was in the small location next to the laundromat. They were delicious then and they are delicious now. Some of the meals are a bit pricey but they're worth a regular visit. Service is also quality. I always look forward to visiting again. read more

We visit Ocala every couple of weeks to visit with our youngest son. Together the three of us visited the Amrit Palace on a Sunday afternoon. My wife and I enjoy considerable culinary diversity in our home of Tampa Bay and wanted to try something different this time around Ocala. We were both amazed at the fresh and authentic tasting Indian food found at Amrit Palace. Between the three of us we enjoyed : Yellow Split Pea soup (Dal Soup) that was seasoned with just a hint of herbs and spices, Fresh Mango Chutney no joke, as fresh as can be, The best Onion Chutney I've ever had the pleasure of enjoying, Garlic Nan made just right with crispy edges and soft moist inside straight from the tandoor, Keema Nan with spicy minced meat served fresh from a charcoal clay oven, Crispy vegetable (Potato & and Pea) Samosa's, Lamb Curry nice tender cubes in a savory curry sauce and Butter Chicken tandoori style cooked in fresh rich creamy tomato sauce. The staff was outstanding - knowledgeable, polite and very responsive. We were seated and waited on very promptly. The restaurant is exceptionally clean, well-appointed and organized. I highly recommend the Amrit Palace and will dine there again very soon! It's a GREAT experience : ) read more

Great food and great service. Probably one of the best Indian restaurants I've tried in the US

I've lived in Ocala for over 30 years and finally went to Amrit Palace two weeks ago... I loved it so much I went again this past weekend! Great doesn't even begin to describe this place! The service was excellent! The atmosphere was so peaceful and relaxing and quiet- just what is needed these days. The food was so incredible! I ordered Chole Palak, vegan style, and it was amazing!!! I can't wait to go back an and visit again! read more

When i arrived I had to ask to be seated. after waiting 20 minutes I had to ask for a server. Keep in mind that there was only one other table with customers so it was not a busy night. The server finally showed up, and you could tell that he was annoyed, I immediately ordered because I was tired of waiting already. I ordered a salad and chicken saag. They brought out the salad which you could not touch because off the impending avalanche. The salad was very finely chopped lettuce piled 6 inches high and served on a small plate. As soon as I touched it, it started to fall of of the plate. The came the entree, remember that I ordered chicken saag: they brought me lamb saag. eventually they brought the correct entree, which was ok but not outstanding. I ate and then waited again for the server, who never showed. At this point I just want out of there so I asked a bus boy if he could get me the check. 15 minutes later a man in a shirt and tie brought the check. I love indian food and travel to Ocala every week. I am there 3 nights a week and was looking for a place for lunch and dinner. Armpit Palace is definately not it. Never again ! read more

I was feeling rather uncultured as I had never experienced Indian cuisine before and had no idea what to expect. However, the staff at Amrit Palace put my anxiety to ease and were most accommodating in helping me to pick my meal. I started with a dal soup (delicious!), samosa chaat (delicious!), chicken tikka masala(delicious!) and the garlic naan bread was ridiculously good dipped in the sauce from the tikka masala sauce! The restaurant itself is nice, clean and has a great ambiance. I left feelIng completely satisfied with the food and the service and wondered "why I have never been here before?!?!" RECOMMENDED! read more

Recently stopped by this restaurant near 200 and had the worst service . Server dropped us to our table , took our order and never seen him until the check was asked by another server. We proceed to tell the gentlemen how bad the service was and no empathy was shown . If your a person of color you WILL BE DISCRIMINATED ! I do not recommend this restaurant! read more

Ok, we ate there two Sundays ago. The food was lovely, very tasty. It came quickly. The decor was nice and the restaurant was clean. Then, our waiter disappeared. Just disappeared. We waited for 20 minutes. No waiter. Our leftovers were ice cold. No chance to take those home. Finally had to find the receptionist to check us out. Jeesh! What terrible service. Too bad. I liked the food. The nan bread is especially nice. read more
