Unfortunately all of our employees can not use this location. We have Arco cards and this location is flagged every time. Gasoline ok but more expensive than many alternatives. I buy gas here for the convenience. Store ok but I rarely use it. I definitely do not recommend the car wash. They have a sign that says it's a grand re-opening of the car wash so I'd expect a decent wash, but..... The car wash doesn't do a good job of cleaning the car and though it has blowers, it doesn't really dry the car at all. I dried it myself and cleaned up the spots it didn't wash. Not a good car wash value, there are other places that are much better for same price. read more

Haven't used this place for a car wash or gas yet but I did stop in to grab a few drinks for my drive. They have a small selection of Bang energy drinks that while is sufficient, does not provide the multitude of flavors to choose from that I have become accustomed to in my gas station shopping excursions.The horror I know! They do have Mexican hot chocolate which is pretty cool. Abuelita has Mexican hot chocolate game locked down! There are hot food items and cold. They have a lot of Keto friendly options if you should find yourself starving for cheese or meats. In all not bad at all. I do wish they had hand baskets to carry my drinks around the store while I decided if I should buy that huge pickle or not... I ended up not but am regretting it right now. Let sigh... read more

So in some twist of scientific logic, COVID cannot live on coffee cups; however soft drink cups are inherently dangerous and will lead to instant COVID death if they are available. Was very disappointed when all I wanted was a soft drink and found the area closed off, but morning coffee was available no problem at all. read more

While checking out.. Leslie the cashier snatched the water and cold brew coffee out of the other cashier's hands and kicked me out for not having a mask. I told her I did not have one and if they had one I could purchase I would. She told me to go to the Shell down the street and would no longer provide service due to my masklessness. I will be taking her advice, and only providing business to Shell moving forward. I live 1/2 mile away, and have gone to this Arco for my entire 15 years of driving. Their inconvenient location it makes it difficult to stop for gas if you're traveling East down the 56. You're basically forced to take the 5 freeway from here. But, it's a lot cheaper than the other gas stations in the area ( Shell). - Finally have new card readers on the pump - So happy they have a CHASE ATM inside - So frustrated they don't sell Coke Zero in small bottles. - Price is expensive compared to other Arcos. read more

Super rude. Asked for $3 in quarters so I could use the vacuum they have outside which only takes quarters, the machine costs $1.50 to use and the cashier let me know $1 was the best he could do. Alright, there's a coin shortage I get it. Inconvenient but that's not his fault. Put $40 in cash on my pump, I had to go back inside twice because the pump continued to say "refund inside" rather than allowing me to pump gas. I was on my lunch break so after the second time I asked for my cash back because I had to go back to work. The girl (manager?) raised her voice telling me she would pump my gas for me" right now" instead of giving me a refund. I politely told her that I had to go back to work and simply didn't have time, I was met with hostility as the girl proceeded to respond "you don't have time? I'll go out there right now and pump your gas for you! You don't have time??" At this point I was rather uncomfortable and simply wanted to leave and let her know again that I had to go back to work and would simply like my money back. I was then handed my cash back without further communication. Never have I has such a terrible experience at a gas station with such hostility. I left and will not return. read more

One Star.. I came here last night around 6:15pm to grab a snack before a hike and also use the restroom. I thought this was a convenient spot to stop by since it was on my way to the coast. I definitely think not anymore. The worker's were in there own world/realm and as I was walking towards the restroom they were standing by the area not making eye contact, nor greeting my presence. Then they had an "out of order" sign for both stalls as perhaps the girl was cleaning it and she stepped inside a minute later as I was standing in front of her because the door was open and I wanted to wait/use it, and then again she ignored me. (She could have said hey it's out of order or something, or it will be a few minutes, but instead she pretended I was not there).. I chose to leave and not even bother doing business there because their attitude or customer service was weak.. no purchases were made, no thanks. read more

I really don't like to give bad reviews, but this one employee's behaviour merits one single star, and makes me wonder whether what I experienced is company policy. I visit this location frequently because it's on the way from point A to point B in my travels. I rarely buy gas because prices are exhorbitant. But I like their burgers and their fountain drinks (Unbound is an awesome energy drink at a reasonable price). Recently I came in with my am/pm cup.... Because I'm trying to leave a smaller carbon footprint, you know.... and dutifully informed the cashier of my refill cup before heading back to get my drink. A super-great, long-time employee informed me that they were gonna charge me full price because there is a promotion going on, and 32 oz fountain drinks are cheaper than the refill price. (Brand new cup 32 oz fountain drink = $.99 plus tax=$1.08. Whereas same size refills are like$1.32). I was appreciative of his efforts to point this out to me. The next time I came in, another male employee (Caucasian with a mustache, I didn't catch the name) charged me full price for the refill, even though the 99¢ special is still going pm as advertised on the soda fountain itself. Veronica is a lazy excuse for an employee. I purchased a $9 car wash and the machine just stopped before my car was washed. I asked her for help but she refused. Made me go outside and repeat my steps, which didn't get the machine to work. When I came back in asking her to come out and help me she kept yelling at me calling me "stupid" and a "pendejo". So far as modern gas stations go, this Arco is as good as it gets. Lots of pumps, a decent snack selection, a Chase ATM inside, what more does the modern gas car driver need? With regards to service, I'll admit, the staff could be friendlier, but generally they're on top of their game. They open new lines when necessary which frankly, is pretty often. My only complaint is that certain cashiers are just slow as all hell. I'm talking molasses style here. I've never been to a place with such poor level of customer service. Larry the cashier sold us a carwash for 6$. After the wash was done soap was left all over the car and the car came out soaking wet! After I told Larry about the issue, he told me he can't do anything about it and all he can do is to give me a towel. Holiness, Gloriness, Templeness. These are some of the words that come to mind when I think of the AMPM of Del Mar, San Diego. This amazing place holds many memories in which I treasure. Whenever I step into this Temple it takes my breath away. There is this indescribable feeling, can't really explain it, but I know that it's because of this place and the amazing things it has in store for me. I'm what you would call a pro, an expert, a connoisseur of convenience stores, I go to this temple maybe everyday, and I can say by far, there is something different about this one. Can't really explain it. But there's truly a feeling I get when I come in here. Spiritual and emotional aspects aside, let me say there are great physical features as well as awesome things to purchase as well. This temple has a perfect location right on the corner of El Camino and Carmel Valley Rd. which can give you a fast connection to either the 5 or 56. There are lovely trees with purple flowers surrounding the temple grounds and parking spots which give you a nice view of cars on the carmel valley rd while you partake in feasting. Inside there's a perfect setup and aisle of snacks and candy right when you walk in. The aisle is parallel with the door frame which kind of guides you into the temple. On the far left you've a wide range of bottled drinks and on the right you've got the world famous 'Thirst Oasis' with an almost infinite amount of fountain drinks including Horchata and Unbound Energy Drink (highly recommend that) also try the coke, its kind of got a unique and holy flavor. Straight ahead there's a wide range of coffee with different flavors and a table right in the middle of the temple full of cream, sugar, and stuffs to add to it. To the right of the coffee brewers theres prime iced coffee as well. RECOMMENDATION: If your planning on getting your coffee at around 6 AM there's going to be alot of people (the official choice of Mexicans before they head out to work). Although I do enjoy going in the morning and watching the sunrise in the parking lot. CAUTION: If you're looking for some beef-jerky on the go (i.e. Jack Links All-American or Slim Jims) They are at the counter so don't be scared if all you see is the big packs near the left side of the store. ALSO: If you're a first-timer, don't be overwhelmed about your experience. Come up with a strategy or "game-plan" before you enter so you know exactly what you will have the pleasure of purchasing. All-in-all, I recommend you take the time to experience the templeness and the holiness. Take some time out of your busy schedule to sit in the parking lot and reflect on life. I have had some deep discussions as well as great epiphanies at the Temple, and I know that it could work for you too. I always hit this Arco/AMPM up on my way back to LA. Right off the 56 just before you jump onto the 5 freeway. This place is in Carmel Valley/Torrey Pines area, so don't expect cheap gas especially since it's off two freeways. They have a full selection of energy drinks and snacks for long (and short) road trips. Lots of fuel pumps but it can get busy at times. read more

This ampm has one of the bestest employees I've ever encountered in a good minute. Patrick went above and beyond in making sure that we were satisfied with the coffee we purchased. At first when we made it my mother noticed it wasn't tasting right and after notifying Patrick he immediately offered to give us fresh brewed coffee and allowed us to remake the ones we didn't like. Can't believe I'm writing a review about a convenience store but this one is way over due. So, this place is conveniently located on a corner with multiple entrances so basically whatever direction you are traveling you can access it. They are certainly the most competitive when it comes to gas prices in the nearby area. Quite clean and well kept up. Again, it's a gas station/convenience store, how much can you really say? But here is where I had to take away a star or two. I go here occasionally (or more than occasionally) for a quick burger. Look, if you have never had an AM/PM burger, don't knock it. For the price and convenience while getting gas or something else, they are pretty darn good! In fact, they are so good that rarely do they ever have any!!! Yes, you can walk into this place and generally if you get there before 3pm you can probably get a burger. But reaching 5pm you are going to be extremely lucky to find one left and after 7pm... forget about it. Why on earth, if you run out so often, don't you just cook more? Certainly this isn't like cooking a burger at 5 Guys or Burger Lounge. I doubt there is much effort that goes into cooking the burgers here or anything else they serve for that fact. And again, if they are all gone by 5pm then it stands to reason that other people want them as well and if you kept making them into the night, people would buy them! Well, to make matters worse, the condiments. I happen to like ketchup on my burger. Fairly common so it stands to reason that you would keep the ketchup container full and operational. But not at this place. At least 70% of the time, I'll push down on the ketchup dispenser and it's either clogged up and nothing comes out, or it's just empty. Again, if there is such a high demand for ketchup... how about checking every once in awhile and refilling. I mean if 70% of the time it doesn't work, clearly someone is NOT doing their job. And when I have been in, there are always clearly enough people that someone could be preparing more burgers and checking the ketchup dispenser. I know this seems a bit much for a convenience store, but really. That's the whole point of a convenience store! If you don't want to make the burgers or have the appropriate condiments out, then don't even make the stuff. I don't go to a store just hoping sometimes they will have what I'm going there for. Sure, you always have gas, but then just be a gas station. But if you are going to sell the food, how about having some ready for people who come in a little later. I doubt you are going to have to throw anything out every. Someone will buy it. read more

It gets the job done. Haven't been inside the AM/PM much so I can't comment on the quality there. One annoyance of these places is the $0.45 processing fee for using a Debit card. Other than that, this is usually where you will find the best gasoline deals in Carmel Valley. It has to be good when there is a) lines to fill up and b) every single landscaping truck in town here. The station is located on the corner of El Camino and Carmel Valley Rd. Access from eastbound Carmel Valley Road is difficult involving several left turns due to a median split as the 56 freeway crosses overhead. Access from the eastbound 56 requires going to Carmel Creek Road and reentering the freeway heading westbound and exiting at El Camino Real. read more

I'm not going to talk about ARCO not accepting credit cards - that's just an ARCO corporate thing and even though it is annoying, that's just who they are and I know that will be the deal anytime I go to an ARCO. My problem with this particular service station is the team of 3-4 pushy salespeople in red and black polo shirts that every so often (not all the time) roam the pumps to sell captive customers all kinds of stuff we don't need. The last time they were trying to sell some sort of a cleanser to clean off your car if you spill some gas when you're done filling up. TODAY the harassers pushed "FW1 Wax" in a spray can, which they insisted I would love. The hard sell started with an offer for a complementary front and rear window wash - I said no thank you. Then the guy pointed out a couple minor nicks in my windshield, which he said could spider out and cost me a ton of money but he'd be happy to fix them for me - "who's your insurance carrier?" No thank you, I'll take care of it - that's what I told him. He replied snarkily that he was "just trying to save you some money." Then he walked away and his partner tried to sell me the spray wax. They were very aggressive. NO THANK YOU. To this guy, to his partner, and to the manager of this station: Please leave me alone so I can pump my gas in peace. This has happened at this ARCO to me and my wife at least 5 separate times in the last couple years. Makes me hate going there. When my wife sees the salespeople she turns around and goes elsewhere. The gas is the cheapest in our neighborhood, but still I only go there if I absolutely need to fill up. read more

Go somewhere else for a gas stop. They don't take a card at the put so you have to go inside to pay then they charge you to use a debit card because they don't accept credit. With a small child its a true pain to go inside especially in the mornings then I can't get the points for using credit. I stopped there once and never again. read more

This review is on the car wash (2 stars), but I give an extra star for all the other amenities at this location: Decent gas price for the neighborhood, many pumps, near the freeway on/offramps, safe, friendly staff, Chase ATM inside, good selection of snacks and drinks. Only 2 stars for the car wash specifically, though, because it's not good! Don't get me wrong.. I still take my car through occasionally, but I prefer to go elsewhere, and I know to expect certain things: 1. It's frequently out of order 2. The card reader doesn't always work 3. It doesn't wash off all the dirt 4. It leaves your car very wet This is not a touch-free wash, and all of it is while the car is stationary, even through the drying stage. The dryer passes over you. Actually, I take that back.. the only part that's not is the undercarriage wash (Premium and The Works). That happens when you first drive in to the wash, so drive slowly or you'll miss it. One improvement about this wash is that they now hand out a microfiber cloth if you purchase The Works wash inside. Kirkland Brand too! read more

What kind of gas station nowadays doesn't take credit cards? Your only options to pay are cash, or debit (of course with a $0.45 transaction fee). Even if you want to pay debit inside, there's a transaction fee - no way around that one. The store itself is pretty big, has a decent selection, but I just can't get over the fact that they don't take credit cards. Just seems like for the convenience of their customers - most of which I'm sure would like to pay by card - they should just implement a system for taking credit cards like so many other gas stations have done. read more

This place is a very convenient place to get some gas, snacks, or drinks on my way out of the house. It's not usually very busy and is rather large. The price of gas is the lowest in the area. It's also open 24 hours which is great on days I have to be in to work very early. The new car wash works great too! read more
