I absolutely love this place. I have never ever had a bad experience! ! I first came here terrified to get my hair cut short again. I had some awful experiences at other salons and was really really nervous. However, I talked to Kevin and he recommended JoAnna Lopez. She is absolutely fantastic! I have been going to her to get my hair done for a while now. She never fails to impress and I trust her completely with my hair. I will never go to another salon again. She's so nice, makes sure you get exactly what will look amazing on you, and is so accommodating! I trust her so much that I give her free reign with my hair. I followed Summer from her last salon to Amplify, because I would follow her to the ends of the earth. She doesn't just do a great haircut, she cuts MY hair-the way it grows and lays, not just from a formula. She's taken me from Blue to mermaid, to fuscia to red, and who knows where I will want to go next? The point is, my hair is soft and in great condition, even though I ask her to do so much processing. Here's another thing that makes her my favorite: If I have an idea, like, a really GREAT idea-but it just won't look good on me? She will tell me, and steer me away from some disasters that I would SO have regretted! (Like that one down day I wanted to shave my head...) We're at the point now, where I just give her an outline of what I'd like to do, and then I just say "You know best" on the particulars. Srsly, I get a lot of compliments on my hair. She does the most amazing updos as well, her wedding pictures blow me away. The atmosphere at Amplify is warm and friendly. Alex, who was the stylist for my brothers wedding did an amazing job curling and setting everyone's hair for the big day. She is so sweet and will do everything exactly how you like it. I have been going to Rocio for about 6months now and couldn't be happier. I'm a brunette with highlights (who is going gray sshh.....) and Rocio always nails it with my color. This would have been 3.5 stars after my first visit, but the second visit made up for it. Last time I had an amazing visit, but my hair didn't end up at all how I wanted it (color-wise). I went back to give the same girl another go. I'm glad I did, because (without prompting as I'd forgotten about it at the moment) she charged me a lesser amount because she knew I wasn't happy with it last time. So cool. Love it there!! Bad experience, was very surprised based on positive reviews. When I walked in the door I became a bit wary based on the appearance of the space versus my usual salons. I should have gone with my gut. My stylist was very late for my appointment and her station was kind of disheveled. The products they carry are not high end. My appointment ran late, of course, and despite explaining my schedule to the stylist I was late for my evening plans. She seemed very rushed and I felt like my hair was unfinished. It certainly was uneven, which I'll have to have corrected elsewhere. Lastly, the shampoo was terrible! Very short, no massage, etc. No idea how the reviews are so good. read more

Carrie is amazing! My teenaged daughter had over processed her hair and gone from platinum to black with various levels of dark brown to black box colors. After taking her to a different salon who turned her hair orange just in time for back to school pictures Carrie was able to correct the coloring, cut, and gave us advise on how to condition her hair back to health. I highly recommend Carrie B. She gave me a fabulous haircut. My hair is difficult to cut - thick strands, wavy, frizzy - and Carrie game me a cut that worked with my hair type. She spent quite some time with me to get the cut right. This is probably the best haircut I have had in a long time. My husband, who hates it when I cut my hair, was very impressed with the cut. The salon is clean and in a cute building. They take walk ins, but I recommend calling ahead and asking for Carrie. read more

So glad these guys opened their own salon! It is a much better space and the equipment is awesome (wash basin at old place could cause cervical injury but these are heaven!). This review is many, many years overdue. I have seen Kevin since I was a kid. And I am happy to say that have continued to see him despite the fact that I have relocated to Southern California. Every time I visit Napa and have the opportunity to book a hair appointment, I make sure to see Kevin. I had the protein treatment last time to tame my unruly, wavy hair, and I am happy to say that I now have cut down the amount of time it takes to blow dry and straighten my hair, with less damage. I have had the same hair stylist for many years, but he suffered a back injury and had to cancel my appointment at the last minute. I looked around on Yelp to find a highly recommended stylist and found Amplify Salon and Rocio. I got a cut and what I call a weave (a blend of two different colors applied to the hair with foil). She did a wonderful job and I was so pleased with the end result. Rocio is very pleasant. The salon itself is spacious with plenty of parking. The whole experience was excellent. I have been coloring my hair for about ~8 years and have been to many different stylists throughout those years. Alex was my hairstylist and she did a PHENOMENAL job, honestly best hairdresser I have ever been to. Not only did she do a fabulous job, but she was also fairly quick for the amount of work she did on my hair ! She listened to exactly what I wanted, made sure she dyed the hair to my root (my biggest pet peeve) and the blonde she gave me looked sooo natural and tailored perfectly to my undertones. Every time it was done a little different, it wouldn't be quite right, and it would grow out a little odd; even though the instructions given were always the same. Then I went to see Summer at Amplify Salon. My haircut has looked great after walking out each and every time. A few days later, it looks just as great. Today I was inspired to write a review because I was having a good hair day. Which is interesting in itself, because every day is a good hair day after you've seen Summer. Went for my first real haircut in almost a year, and it was my first time coming here. I had Rocio by chance (she was the only one available!) as my stylist. She was awesome!! So excited to have met her and she did a beautiful job on my new 'do. She literally started by asking my if i wanted water, then chopping off 6 inches of my hair (which I asked her to do!). I absolutely love Courtney! I am super picky when it comes to hair stylists. I hate it when I tell someone what I want and they either don't get it or they go ahead and do whatever they want regardless of what I asked for. Courtney understands hair and color well. I completely trust her to deliver on what I am asking for. She also cuts my kids hair and she is super sweet and patient with them. She even styles my 10 year old's hair beautifully after she cuts it. The best part is she does all of this for extremely reasonably rates. I've paid a lot more at other salons and was not nearly as satisfied. I highly recommend Courtney! Love this salon! It's full of natural light, friendly faces and amazing hair! Kaye did my hair and she was AUH-mazing! My hair was the blackest of black box dye and I wanted something fun and fresh. She asked me questions and we decided to do a pink ombre on my hair. My hair has an awesome color to it and she maintained the integrity of my hair which is really important! I would absolutely recommend her to everyone I know who wants a person who knows their colors and I'd go back to her in a heart beat. My stylist Summer was very friendly and made me feel welcome up arrival. She understood what I wanted to do with my hair, which was especially nice because my previous haircut elsewhere had not turned out good, so I need my angles and layers fixed. Summer did just that! Also I have very long hair and wanted to keep it that way, she managed to make it look as though I had lost almost no length while making my hair look and feel so healthy and shaping my hair in the exact way I envisioned.
