I booked an appointment on Vagaro for the next day (per dates/times they posted!) and got lots of warnings about not cancelling under 24 hours. 30 minutes later my appointment was cancelled with no explanation. I called. No one answered. I left my phone number asking for a call back. No one called back. This couldn't have been a worse first impression! I ran into Rose last week at my business. We chatted and she told me she was working at Amplify. I arranged a "Long overdue NewDo"! The shop is cute, kinda chopped up into little rooms and cubicles. Kinda a Winchester House experience. Lol!! Rose greeted me and I showed her a photo of what color scheme I would like. Wow! She nailed it perfectly. Now comes the cut. I am naturally blonde and decided I wanted black hair. A mistake I will never do again. After 2 years my hair is finally back to what it looked like before. On top of it, she gave me the gorgeous angled bob haircut I have been searching for. I love the color and cut of my hair now! I am so excited that I found someone who not only listens to what I want (I am a very picky person with my hair) but also responds to what I say as she is cutting and remembers. I made a haircut appointment for myself and made an updo appointment for my mother. The person who took my call, Amanda, failed to put me on the schedule, even after stating that she cleared the time slot for my appointment. This review will not be based on Amanda, but on Summer. Summer was scheduled to work on my mother's updo and she felt bad about the incident and offered to do my hair. I felt really bad that I would mess up her schedule or take away from my mother's updo and I declined her offer. I was more worried about my mother and her updo then I was about my hair, frankly because I hate my hair. Summer insisted and I was honest with her and told her how it made me nervous to have an updo , because I had fine hair and I was never able to style it for fear that people may notice my scalp. Summer comforted me and reassured me it was all going to be okay. I have to say, she did an amazing job not only on my hair but my mother's hair. I never do my hair and my mom wanted me to feel and look beautiful at the wedding and Summer just made it happen. What I didn't tell Summer is that I cried a bit after she did my hair, because I felt beautiful. Something that I hadn't felt in a long time. What I didn't share with Summer was that I've just been battling getting over a divorce and through all the sadness experienced through this loss, I lost myself. Little by little I'm starting to move forward and discover self love. Summer, thank you for making me feel comfortable and for bringing out a light that was lost in all the darkness. Marie is amazing! I came in with a picture and a video of the style that I wanted and she made it happen. She is so nice, funny, and personable that the time (3 hours) flew by. I had to assure her that I really did want it that short, and platinum, and she made sure to give me the cut I wanted. She even helped me with every day styles that were more toned down. 2020 strikes again! First impression when you walk into this place is how chaotic and poorly run it is. It's dirty and lacks basic sanitation (which is bad in a normal year for a salon but even worse with a pandemic). Trash is overflowing, no organization, smells off, and the people there are just screaming across the salon at each other (not even work related stuff). One time I heard them yell at each other from a different room about twerking... I like to have a good time at work but there's a line. Now on to the haircut/wax service: This was my first time (and definitely last time) trying this "salon". I read decent reviews and it is convenient so I had hoped for a better experience. I made an appointment because the county is likely to close salons soon. I was made to wait for 15 minutes after my appointment was supposed to begin for my haircut. Its nearing the holidays and so I was patient but still annoyed. My biggest issue by far was the outcome - My looks worse than if I had gone to a sports clips; it really looks like a child's haircut. I feel so ridiculous now. I know hair grows out but until then I have to walk around feeling like people are looking at me like I cut my own hair in lockdown! I expressed how dissatisfied I was and I didn't get as much as an apology. All she said was "if you still don't like it in a week let me know and I can try something else." I got an eyebrow wax also and one is noticeably thinner than the other. If you're looking for a new salon I would strongly advise looking elsewhere. No pictures of me this holiday season. read more

I have been here a couple of times to color and cut my hair. Amanda D. Is really a great stylist but the atmosphere at this salon is bad. In the Times I have been there I've heard them talk horrible about customers, about other co-workers( obviously behide their back) and about other salon they used to work at. I think it was Studio B. There is no professionalism. As a former customer I love the stylist work but not the atmosphere. Eventually this attuide could affect their busniess. If you don't mind hearing gossip it's the perfect place to get your hair done. P.S. they are also very territorial with customers. read more

I have been going to Amplify for the past year and although Amanda Dunn usually takes care of my highlights, she wasn't in today and the very lovely (forgive my spelling if it's wrong) Rocio took me in right away. THIS WOMAN. It's like being pampered by your Bff. As someone who gets their hair highlighted I am always skeptical of who does my hair - I don't like big chunky pieces or copper tones. Obviously I'm a little demanding about my hair. Rocio took me in with "open arms" so to speak. She made me look UH-MAY-ZING. so sad I'll be leaving for school and have to look for another hair stylist. Courtney has been cutting my hair for a years now and I've sent a few of my friends to her, as well. She always takes care of me and turns the chore of getting a haircut into a fun and relaxing time. She even loads up her spray bottle with warm water so I don't get sprayed with cold water on my neck! The stylists here have been working together for sometime and their teamwork shows. I've noticed that if one stylist has a question on the best way to do something, the others are happy to lend a hand or offer advice. The space is comfortable with big windows that let a lot of natural lighting in, there's plenty of convenient parking, and there's even a convenience store next door in case you need a refreshment! read more

I wish I could give Melissa zero stars. I went to begin getting my hair into a bob haircut. She layered the crap out of the back of my hair. It should have been tapered to create more of a bob "look" on the upper part of the back of my hair. There's nothing I can do with my hair until it grows out from her horrible haircutting job. I called the salon and spoke to a gentleman who said he was the owner and he was just plain rude telling me there's nothing he can do since the people rent from him. BEWARE!! Being new to the area, I was very skeptical about trying a new salon. I did a little research and made the decision to visit Amanda L for a cut and color. I'm not your average customer because I wanted to dye my hair purple.. I've never bleached my hair so I was nervous about that on top of trying a new salon. I am SO glad that I came here. My hair turned out to be beautiful and even faded into a light purple/silver. Everyone there was extremely friendly. And the prices are so reasonable! I give this place five stars all around! My hairstylist Amanda Liddicoet (along with most of the stylist from Studio B), recently moved to Amplify Salon. I've been pretty picky about finding a stylist and am happy I found her, especially after having gone to so many different stylist after we moved to Napa. Amanda not only gives you an awesome haircut but also does an amazing job at highlights. I usually just let her do what she thinks will look best on me and she does her magic. Plus she makes it easy enough so that I can recreate the look easily at home. She always asks you what you think before she does something to make sure you're comfortable with it and just all around genuinely cares that you are happy when you leave. I've had Courtney do my hair for a number of years and it's always perfect. She's very friendly and a pleasure to chat with while getting my cut. Takes around 20-30 minutes for a normal men's cut which is a perfect amount of time. My wife's been going to her for even longer and is always happy. I highly recommend Courtney. I wanted to change up my style, but I didn't know what I wanted since I have thick, dark brown hair that's difficult to manage. Amanda D. was so helpful! She found just the right colors to do a balayage/ombre effect going from dark brown at the crown to light brown at the ends. It didn't turn out brassy or orange-looking at all, and I've gotten so many compliments! She also gave me some advice on keeping the color nice for longer. I'll definitely be going back. The only thing that could be improved is if they would let you know in advance when a stylish only accepts cash/check or they should always accept cards, since it's kind of inconvenient to have to get cash or carry around checks. read more

The one reason why I give it five stars is because I value her professionalism that while she was working on my hair she had her attention on me. Alex has been doing my eyebrows since we were in high school so after she graduated beauty school I couldn't help but follow her to Studio B and now to Amplify! She has always done a spectacular job at making my hair look edgy but professional and I can not begin to write about all the compliments I get every single time I return from the salon! Summer did my curls and eyebrows for NYE. I was very happy with the curls and eyebrow wax she gave me. Only hair stylist ever to not yell at me for washing my hair everyday. My curls stayed for 24+ hours so she did a wonderful job. She also gave me more of an arch in my eyebrows so they filled in very nicely.
