Haven't been to Maynard in ages, but I do remember this brewery from way back. They had a very interesting twist on their Man Bun Pilsner. I thought the Hot option was just heated beer, but they mixed some hot sauce with it, among other things. I enjoyed it for the most part, it had a spicy tangy kick to the beer. At the moment, there's only outdoor seating and you are allowed to bring outside food. I also appreciate the bartender watching my drink as I went out to get food. read more

I have to agree with previous reviews that the music seems to be a bit over the top and self serving to the owners. They do switch it up, but I don't think anyone is coming for the intense metal these guys play sometimes. Serve your great beer without forcing your very unique music upon the customers. (Also, I know you aren't going to want to hear this, but making your Instagram feed political is never good for business, everyone knows that. It's just exhausting, I came for beer updates and a reprieve from this politically dominated world). read more

I usually don't think of "cozy" as a word I'd use to describe a brewing company's place, but it feels like a good word here. The atmosphere is very relaxed, and the owners are helpful and friendly. The layout easily accommodates larger groups. Their draft selection isn't necessarily huge, but they do have something for everyone. I enjoyed my Shades of Tomorrow stout, and item not currently listed on their website, and I also likewise enjoyed everything else I sampled here. Great in every way, except the LOUD obnoxious acid rock music blasting in the beer garden. On behalf of the many other customers who have said the same thing, please play some quiet, background music. There is not a single person going there for the music. You are driving customers away. read more

Stopped in yesterday after we noticed that Saturday hours had been expanded (opening at 2PM). Despite the fact that I am not a "real" beer drinker I enjoyed the two (half pours) I tried. Prices were reasonable, and the owners are very knowledgeable about the nuances of each beer (as you would expect!) They were very friendly and eager to help explain which beers might be appealing to me ("less bitter" vs. "not hoppy".) Definitely will return, maybe with a sub or a pizza! read more

This tap room opened on/around Nov 20th. We came in with zero expectations and left thrilled. The beers are New England farmhouse style; the brewers have a Farmers Brewing license!! "The goal of this license is to promote the development and use of local ingredients by requiring the brewery itself to grow or buy a percentage of the ingredients used in the manufacturing or blending process from farms located within Massachusetts." We had the Kettle Hole Rustic Pale Ale & Single Hop Cashmere. Great depth of flavor and served at "right" temp. Wish these guys the best of luck, and much success!! read more

This little place is nice! The inside was closed so you go on this alley on the side of the building. It has picnic tables and they turned the electric heaters on. The vibe is good and the beer was really good. The pumpkin one was really great. You can order some food items , the pretzels looked delicious. Def recommend this brewery. read more

This place is a great spot and has a lot of potential. However several things terrible about it: 1. Poor and limited selection of beer 2. Some of the worst tasting beer I have had 3. Rude staff 4. Dirty tables The customer service is poor to say the least. Staff was rude, unprofessional, and lacked any interpersonal skills or decency. They also do randomly have ice coffee but no milk/creamer--just another random tid-bit that brought this review to a one star. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. I had a bad experience with Amory's Tomb... I had just come from Pizza Express after receiving my calzone I saw that there was a Movie at the adjacent bar, Amory's Tomb... I was very offended when I asked for a drink and the bartender replied we only sell beer so I said is it craft beer he replied yes I said OK I would like something pumpkin first I said how about a cold snap nope don't have it OK so how about pumpkin? he said OK I said do you put the cinnamon and sugar on the rim nope don't do that. I said OK. Then I will take a Sam Oktoberfest do you have that? He said yes I said OK great... his next reply was, I was horrified, have you been drinking? I said no I just picked up my calzone next store. He said, well I'm not gonna serve you I said are you serious? he said yes, I said, wow dude I'm a business owner in town I could've brought you a lot of business but that's pretty messed up... Prior to that, a patron chimed in when I asked for a drink and he said this isn't the Fuckin China Ruby you know... I said excuse me, do I know you? and he totally turned his back to me and didn't engage so that tells me he was a pos drunk. So I think he must've been a regular and the bartender was feeding off of him. So I am just reallyTaking offense to not being served. So this is my review, The bartender was very rude to me and not professional in anyway I would not recommend this place at all and good luck to him to prosper in this business because if he treats patrons like this based on pieces of shit sitting at the bar then he should not be in business. read more

Great selection of farmhouse ale, sessions and sours. I live in Acton and i think Amory's tomb is one of the better local breweries around (another one is Medusa, but that's a bit of a hike for me). They are open now, didn't get to check out their beer garden, but you can login, purchase beers (comes in 4 pks, bottles and growlers) and do pickup on the same day. Super convenient. I am an outlier amongst beer geeks, avoiding IPAS and searching out saisons. In recent years I have found it nearly impossible to find any drinkable saisons in MA or even barely passing ones. I took a chance and bought a selection of their cans to try. I found Saison I, Silver Tree & Prelude to be nicely balanced very drinkable beers. Their moderne saisons I found too hoppy for my palate but my husband enjoyed them. I also enjoyed their belgian golden ale Advancement of Interest. I am very ipressed with this brewery and will be buying more beer from them soon. read more

My husband and I stopped in after dinner last weekend and were pleasantly surprised! The beer is unique and delicious, the service is friendly, and there's a great, relaxed atmosphere. Unlike some of the previous reviews, we enjoyed the music and found it to be a refreshing change from every other bar in the area. What a wonderful addition to my neighborhood. It's a little "industrial" feeling, but has a warmth to it as well. Bartenders are all actually the brewmeisters -- extremely knowledgeable. They may seem a little curt, but they're just tired -- apparently this is a labor of love on top of "regular" jobs. I'm not a big beer person, but they have been very helpful in making selections for me that I can appreciate, or even offering a sample. Their only downside, really, is that they seem to have gotten more popular than they had thought and they are constantly struggling to keep up with demand. That's a good problem to have! read more
