We didn't eat anything else in the order out of caution, as the risk of food poisoning was too high. I grew up in Greece and know seafood -- this was clearly off. Given that my mother was previously sick for weeks due to bad crayfish, we weren't willing to take any chances and threw out the entire meal. I contacted the restaurant immediately. The manager acknowledged the issue and initially offered a replacement meal for collection only, which felt dismissive considering the seriousness of the situation. I was told I'd be called the next day by the area manager -- that call never came. Eventually, someone called around 7pm and all they did was refund one meal and insinuate that we didn't know what we were talking about. It was condescending and disappointing. Expecting us to collect a free meal from the same kitchen that nearly served us spoiled seafood is not a solution -- it's a lack of accountability. Pointing us toward Uber Eats to resolve the issue just felt like passing the buck. Food safety should be a top priority, and the lack of proper follow-up or genuine concern from the team is alarming. First impressions were excellent, very cosy, only 8 or 9 tables, nice Italian music in the background, the chatter of Italian in the kitchen and amongst the waiters. It all boded very well. We ordered some drinks and after a quick rummage through the menu (which all looked great, and very well priced) we were recited the specials of the day. In true Italian style we took the plunge and went for a mega feast of four courses. Nothing particularly challenging for a Wednesday night I must say. To begin, we had a duo of bruschettas - one, a classic tomato and the other with friarielli (or Italian wild broccoli). Afterwords we had a wonderful seafood caserecce pasta dish (primo) with fresh clams and squid. It tasted just like the real stuff I would get in Italy. After, yes there was more (or a secondo), a huge fitto misto (which we shared) which is basically battered and fried seafood. The batter was so light and crisp, and served with lemon its a simple and easy dish that is difficult to top. Finally for desert was a home-made amarena cherry and amaretto cheesecake. It was oh so rich and creamy. Exquisite!!! All this was washed down with some rather darn fine Soave white wine, and the best part was the final bill, incredibly good value for money considering the quantity and the amazing quality of the food we had. I could not recommend this place enough. A real proper Italian restaurant, which is going straight into my top Italian eateries list. I simply cannot wait to go back.

A group of 5 of us visited for dinner last night. The restaurant is pretty small actually but not pokey - no one was seated right beside us and the music gives it a good atmosphere so you don't feel like people are listening to your conversation. The menu is really impressive - I pretty much wanted to eat every single dish. As Rocco G says, it's not your usual Italian dishes on the menu and you can be a little more adventurous here (although there is a section of traditional Italian dishes which are more common in the UK like bolognese, carbonara, lasagne). There's lots of eggplant/aubergine (drool) and loads of delicious-sounding seafood, as well as nod to Scottish folk with a chicken breast stuffed with haggis. There's even a good range of vegetarian dishes. I went for the scallops to start (£9.95) which were beautifully plump (is there any other way to describe a good scallop), served in a lovely tangy Aurum liqueur sauce. For the price I thought 3 scallops was very reasonable, and really enjoyed how perfectly they were cooked. For main I couldn't go past the gnocchi with king prawns in a white wine sauce (£11.95). It was a huge portion (too large, if I'm honest) but overall a really wonderful dish packed with flavour but not smothered in sauce, and really letting the puffs of gnocchi shine. There was one main large prawn (in the shell) and then smaller prawns scattered around the dish - again, for the price I thought this was really good value. I even went for dessert (something I rarely do) as I quite fancied the tiramisu (I think around £5). Again, great sized portion, lovely presentation and had a nice boozy/coffee kick to it. I couldn't eat it all so they happily popped it in a container for me to take home (guess what I'm having for lunch today?!). Service was great - we were looked after by two staff members who were both friendly and helpful. There was a mix up with the mains as one of our party didn't receive his, and they only realised as they were bringing out our dishes. I thought the way it was handled was really nice - they offered him some bread while he waited, and then took his dessert off the bill to say sorry. I asked for some more information on the rosé and the waitress was very knowledgeable and helpful which was great - I settled on the pinot grigio rosato which was perfect (£5.50 for a small glass). For food, I ordered: penne in a rich tomato sugo with fresh chilli and basil, chicken fillet with spicy Sardo in a rich tomato and cream sauce and baby calamari deep fried and served with spicy Siciliana sauce. The food arrived quickly and Parmesan cheese was generously applied (just the way I like it). I really liked the calamari, it was a generous serve with a nice batter and well cooked. I did come across one piece which was chewy but the rest was really good. The penne was tasty and flavoursome without being groundbreaking. What was amazing however was the chicken fillet. Wow, this was amazing. It had a really intense, creamy, rich flavour and was one of those dishes you just don't want to end. I was pretty much licking the plate by the end of it. I told the waitress how much I liked it and she said it is really good with pasta too - damn her, now I really want the recipe! Haha. The bill came to just over £30 which was pretty good for an early Friday night dinner. The staff were super lovely here, I couldn't fault their service and how helpful they were.
