I tried Amonos for the first time during the heat wave. Everyone else had the same idea because they were packed when I got there. The poor staff was overwhelmed, but even as a family of 6 came in right before closing, they didn't bat an eye. They just kept cranking out orders. It obviously took time for my order, but I was happy to sit and wait in their air conditioning. When my order was ready, the cook looked me in the eye and thanked me for my patience. Great Authentic Mexican Street Food! Their burritos come with a choice of tasty options. But they have a lot of other tasty options as well for lunch or dinner. These include Al Pastor, Carnitas, Carne Asada, Cabeza, Lengua, Chorizo and 'Chupa Cabra' (Chorizo + Carne Asada). I enjoy their Chicken Burritos and Quesados the most, but the Tacos, and Tortas are good too. This and Ixtapa are my favorite Snoqualmie Valley Mexican food options. I've probably brought home food from this place many dozens of times and always been satisfied and happy. Sometimes I get the Flan, Soup or the Mexican Sodas too. Great stuff. They also have a Food Truck parked in Bellevue next to the Novel Tree store -- brilliant move for those that get the "munchies" later. read more

Still terrible food handling process. I have family that doesn't care and will eat there regardless: That's why I keep having to go back. I wish I could get past their dirty practices, but I can't. At least now they know to change their gloves after handling the pay/order tablet. With COVID-19, you would think they're better at it. No, they're not. They are touching and moving the garbage can with the same gloves they're getting the chips out of, and not changing gloves as they continue to process orders. You would think they would just move the garbage can out of the way for the rest of the evening, no they keep moving it back and forth to access the chips. A lady who was eating inside didn't get her guacamole, once the staff confirmed that, the staff member took the woman's plate (which she had already eaten out of), took it back to the prep to add guacamole. Yikes. Ever heard of putting guacamole in a little cup and bringing it out to the customer to keep cross contamination at a minimum? I'm sure most people think I'm nuts (that's ok) but it only takes one incident for something bad to happen. read more

An unexpected but good stop! I was in Duvall not long ago and was looking for a bite of lunch. Amonos came up as having a very good average on Yelp reviews and I decided to go in and spend my lunch here. The place is mostly set up for "to go" orders but there are a few tables and some chairs that you can use if it isn't too busy. I ordered the Chorizo Burrito where was very good. Authentic and very satisfying. The staff were very friendly and got my order to me very promptly. After I ate I did need a restroom. The staff told me to go out and down past a couple store fronts to get to it and they gave me a code. For the life of em I could not locate this restroom. I thought it might have been in a fitness center which was about where they said it would be but I couldn't get in nor use the code that was given to me. I wound up having to go to a nearby park and use their facilities there so I'm not sure exactly how to utilize the restroom here... or just find a park restroom to use. lol! read more

Recently I was the wedding day coordinator at a venue nearby. Amonos was hired to do the catering. On the day of the event, they placed a huge orange sign that said, "We do Catering!" with their logo and phone number listed on the top of their tent. I politely requested that they take down the sign as it was not fitting to have up at a wedding. The owner Guillermo begrudgingly did so. After a bit, I just happened to look up and saw that the banner moved from on top of the tent to the side of the tent. I walked over and before I could politely ask that they remove the sign completely, the owner rudely told me that if I wanted it removed, I'd have to do it myself. So, I went ahead and removed it. I didn't want to damage the sign, so I asked if he'd like it rolled or not. He again was very rude and told me that if I didn't stop talking to him, he wouldn't serve the food. At this point, one of his assistants was very kind and told me that she would put the sign away. The one star is due to Guillermo's lack of professionalism. And because of this, I would not recommend Amonos for any catering events. If he and I didn't have this negative interaction, I would've given Amonos 4 stars. The food was tasty. read more

Soft tacos are actually their street tacos. I've gotten food truck street tacos that have onions, radishes, cilantros with much more flavor! These soft tacos were bland, no radishes or onions. Actually no green on them at all. Ordered 8 tacos and one burrito. Came to 33 bucks. Found out after the fact because I ordered beef as my meat, it cost $.25 more EACH item because beef prices went up. This wasn't posted anywhere! Burrito wasn't bad, not great. No guac or sour cream. The burritos are some of the best anywhere, breakfast or regular. The tortilla shell is so chewy and tasty. The chicken is my favorite but all the meats are good. Wish it had a bit more pico in it. This is the only Mexican restaurant I've ever been to that wasn't just a rehash of the chain Americanized stuff I grew up on (Mazatlan, Ixtapa, etc.) I mean, don't get me wrong, that kind of Mexican will always have its place in my heart, but this place...was just more real. There was so much flavor and I know that none of it came from a can or the freezer. Nothing was drowning in cheese. The salsa was actually hot, and had flavor! It's so hard to find truly good, hot salsa at a restaurant. It's like everyone goes for pain and forgets the taste. Anyway, the point is, I love this restaurant. I had the best burrito plate I've ever found, including the one I make at home, and my husband finally found tacos that didn't immediately make him complain about the lack of whatever he was craving that day. I was so excited when this place opened. I could eat here everyday and I do try to go several times a week. Everything on the menu tastes amazing and the price is soooo affordable. My favorite menu item right now is the chupa cabra torta without onions drenched in spicy green sauce with a coke. The staff is always friendly and the owners always tell the customer thank you for coming. I know what I'm having for lunch tomorrow. You can go for breakfast lunch and dinner because they are open 8am-8pm. My husband is a breakfast person so I like to surprise him sometimes with breakfast burritos from Amonos. I went here with my family to get some food and we walked in and we ordered but they couldn't properly take our order. I ordered a bean and cheese burrito with rice and beans and it was sort of uncooked in the middle and the rice was hard. My dad ordered a burrito plate and they came to clarify that's what he wanted but he changed his mind to a bean and cheese burrito. He still got the burrito plate but a bean and cheese burrito plate with no tortilla. The sodas we got were also super warm. I'm sorry I don't like writing bad reviews but we ordered simple things that still got messed up all over the place. They didn't speak proper English and they didn't bother to clarify after wards if everything was good or the right thing. Stopped by here for dinner. Couple of bar seating spots, but basically a taco truck style place in a building. The guy taking the order was super nice, helpful, and funny. Tacos were great. We even tried the beef tongue and it was good. Carne Asada always a favorite. The Paleo plate is huge. Loads of fancy greens with a meat of your choice and pico/guac/sour cream on top. Burritos and quesadillas. All was good here. They serve sodas from Mexico. We really enjoyed this spot and will be back! read more

No longer do I have to drive to Monroe to get my take-out Mexican "street style" food. In fact, I'd say this is an upgrade to the options I used to drive over to Monroe for. Meat options: Tried them all now, and love each in their own way. My stand-out favorites are the cabeza and lengua. If you're a gringo that thinks the sound of tongue and/or cheek meat sounds "icky," I urge you to step outside of your comfort zone and brave trying something new. It may change your life. Big fan of the "Paleo Plate." Despite the trendy "Paleo" word, it's basically just a really good salad topped with the meat of your choice and guacamole. I found the standard burritos to be the weakest of all the offerings, but they're by no means bad. Just not as much of an exceptional standout as their tacos and other delicious options. Service and overall experience is top notch. Don't at all understand the constant comparisons to Ixtapa... They're two very different types of places. Normally this is my favorite restaurant. I give everything I've ever ordered a 10 out of 10 grade. However, I just threw a burrito in the garbage without unwrapping it because I don't want COVID. One cook had no mask, the other wore hers around her neck. They stood over the grill singing along with the radio and talking--and I assume spewing germs over my food. So tonight my wife ran down to get us some chicken sin ropa dishes and they were this time out of beans. Seriously? Isn't that like a teriyaki joint being out of rice?? Well anyways my wife forgot her wallet and we got back to the restaurant about 5 past closing and the door was still open and we ordered. The young man at the register handed us our food and clearly communicated how they had made an "exception" for us by making our food after closing (even though he saw my wife in line before running home to get the wallet). He implied that eating there after closing would be even more of an "exception" even though there was another person eating still as well. The food is cheap and so is the service which explains the terrible experience of both I guess. I'd much rather eat at Ixtapa (even though love food truck/authentic more usually). Their food is great and so is their service. Luckily we aren't stuck with Amono's being the only Mexican place in town. We'll never eat there again. read more

Been here a couple of times now and I like this place for when I need fuel and I am on the go. Food and the ingredients have always been fresh and you can (if you are tall enough) see them make you food. It's a great break from ordering at subway. This place is popular on Friday evenings but worth the relatively short wait. Awesome street tacos, burritos, etc. which are a great deal for the money. I love the burrito al Pastor and their Guac and chips. These guys did a truck down at the summer stage concerts and we would always grab our dinner from them. Unfortunately I have to edit my review. Ordered a carnitas burrito and fish tacos. By the time I got home (5 mins away) the flour tortillas had become so soggy they were inedible. The burrito had no lettuce, tiny bit of pico, and a dime size amount of guac which was all at the bottom of the burrito. The tortilla was so soggy and elastic that it kept unraveling with each bite. The carnitas wasn't shredded but instead came as two big clumps stuck together in one spot. The tortillas on the fish tacos were same as the burrito, with an excessive amount of lettuce and pico. Only good part was the fish portion was generous. Is it too much to ask to have the food prepared how the person making it would like it to be? It was simply prepared sloppy and without care. On the bright side, the breakfast burrito I had last time was great. read more
