My experience is better than I expected by far. I am in my 3rd week of rehab/recovery from my total shoulder replacement and have had zero issues other than a temporary inconvenience of having to wait for this to heal. Rehab, though tedious, is not painful. I now have to add that I did not believe that it was a relatively painless proposition to have this done. Let me assure you that I am eagerly awaiting getting my left replaced, as it is more irritating than the recently serviced right! Dr. Ferry and his team are AMAZING!!! I am 48 and am 2 weeks out from a total shoulder replacement. I was very anxious going into the surgery and more nervous about the pain after the nerve block wore off. Zero pain! I never had to use the prescribed narcotics. I recently had ACL surgery by Dr. Ferry at the Orthopedic Surgery Center of Arizona. I was impressed with the outcome of my procedure, and facilities. I experienced excellent pre and post operative communication. Only feedback I have is that the Via de Ventura location is not ADA friendly. The main building and Dr Ferry's front door are manual so hard to open when on crutches or have other limitations. I would recommend investing in automatic doors for that location. Otherwise my experience exceeded my expectations. read more

What a HORRIBLE PRACTICE!! They schedule appointments on top of one another. I'm serious. 3 people in the waiting room scheduled for Dr. Ferry at the SAME appointment time. So, after waiting 30 minutes, I went up to the window and asked how much longer I needed to wait. They ushered me into an exam room very shortly thereafter. Here's where it gets UGLY. I'm sitting in the exam room for a good 10 minutes. I hear the door to the exam room directly next to mine open. Then I hear this: "Hello, Mr. ____, I'm Dr. Ferry." Now, remember, I've already been waiting 40 minutes past my appointment time. AND there are TWO people still sitting in the waiting room with the exact same appointment time as mine and this A-hole has us stacked in exam rooms as well???? This is blatantly rude, greedy, and unkind. I strapped my leg brace back on and crutched right out the door! As I'm leaving they're yelling at my back--- "Hey! Where are you going?" So I replied--"I know when I'm being played." and kept thumping my way out the door. The 2 other poor saps were still waiting in the waiting room. With a 3 pm appointment like mine. Did I mention that someone else spoke up that had a 3:15 appointment? I got to the elevator at 4:15 pm. I understand if doctors are running behind, but sending a receptionist out to say, " I'm sorry, we're runnning behind, if you'd like to go get a cup of coffee, we can text you when the doctor is ready , or if you need to reschedule, we understand." Would be the kind and polite thing to do. There was a lady waiting before me that was afraid to go the restroom!!!!!!!! Dr. AMON FERRY needs a good wake up call. Or maybe a slap to the head or a kick to the tender area. My appointment was AGES ago, and I'm STILL angry. The whole experience was SO RUDE, I still can't believe it really happened. read more

I had two rotator cuffs repaired last year by this fabulous surgeon. I do agree with past reviews that he was working on removing poor employees for efficient, friendly employees. He has done that! With that being said I will tell you he is without a dubt the kindest, most compassionate doctorr I have ever met. He listens to all your concerns and takes the time to answer them in a language you will understand. While at the hospital for each of my surgeries the surgery nurses ALL stated he is not only the nicest surgeon they know BUT absolutely the finest in his field! I'm sorry folks had a bad experience with his staff. They are gone!! He is a superb surgeon and person. read more

You know, we really like the doctor, but the staff is a bit difficult to deal with--they refuse to return phone calls. Just this week alone, we tried to call 3 times to schedule a surgical date and they do not call back. I feel as if I am leaving a message into a void where they laugh and laugh at my message and then hit the delete button. I have honestly never encountered a medical practice before where they have so little regard for their patients. The other writer obviously had a problem with scheduling and the overall demeanor of office. My experiences (4-5 total) have been mostly good. My last visit went very smoothly; hardly any wait. Satisfied with dr's recommendation and will be starting knee shots soon. My husband has also seen Dr. Ferry and was happy with the overall experience. NO medical office is perfect; everyone has bad days and makes mistakes. Sometimes the hired help is to fault and they're usually gone by the time you go back! I say, Dr. Ferry is worth another try! I am a 68 year old retired physical education teacher from Chicago, Illinois. Being active all my life, wrestled competitively from age 7 through 20; coached girls gymnastics and boys wrestling; and played competitive tennis for 7 years. All great fun......but took its toll on my body. I had surgery on my right elbow in 1994, right rotator cuff in 2001, and left rotator cuff in 2004. I retired in 2007 and relocated to Scottsdale in 2008. I found a new passion in hiking the desert mountain trails. After a couple falls here and there, I re-injured my right rotator cuff in 2017. Went to see an orthopedic physician who, after looking at my MRI, mentioned I had a torn tendon.....not wanting to have surgery, I agreed to a cortisone injection as my treatment. That relief went on for about 8 weeks and then I started living with the pain....icing it down, wearing a shoulder brace now and then. Around October of 2018, I took a pretty hard fall while hiking and injured the shoulder to a point that the pain and movement was unbearable. I searched for an orthopedic surgeon who accepted Medicare, and found Dr. Ferry. I do not believe I could have found anyone better. First of all, he is a listener. He fully understands that there is no one better than the patient to explain the injury, pain level, etc. I had an MRI and it showed the tear was more than back in 2017 and I also had a bicep tear.....surgery was the only thing to do. Dr. Ferry operated on me two days ago......I am so pleased with his demeanor before the surgery, speaking with me in the surgical waiting room, and even just before the anesthesia was administered.......just made the entire procedure relaxing. I know I am heading for about 6 months of physical therapy, but I am so thankful I found this wonderful surgeon to put me back together :) I would highly recommend him to anyone! read more

I am retired military with chronic knee pain so i consider myself a bit of an expert on waiting rooms and dr's . I always expect to be another name on a long list of unfamiliar names to a dr so i wont be dissapointed . Lets start with the waiting room and front desk staff , ladies kudos to you for such professionalism. In a busy office with pt's of all ages it always felt like every pt was an aunt or uncle coming to see the dr in the family. The staff did a great job in accomidating everyone no matter their condition . Did i mention im retired military ? No one knows efficiency better than we do. Once again thank you ladies. Lets end with Dr Ferry's visit. Being military im used to the hurry up and wait approach ,Dr Ferry was anything but that . Took time to listen , explain , and let me forget i might not be seeing the family dr , but I could always count on him as if i was. i broke my ankle and had to have screws and a plate put in. Dr Ferry was the surgen at ER so he wasnt my choice..he was my only hope at the time. i was told to get ankle checked out in 3 weeks. however i was in hospital with other complications and could not get into be seen. I had to call his office MANY times to get him to come to hospital and check out my ankle's progress. Never saw him. When i returned home i made appointment for follow up. i can't understand why he is the only dr who charges 50.00 for a follow up.!!?? No other dr has charged me for follow up.!? i was out of work due to the injury and the office was very rude when i asked if i could be billed.. to pay it when i returned back to work. Of course they said no. my visiting sister had to pay it or i would not be seen by the Dr. About 2 years later i was having alot of pain and swelling in the ankle. i went to Dr Ferry and he basically told me " that's to bad.. i have to live with it" SERIOUSLY??!! i could barely walk! I went to another Dr who removed the 1 screw that was pinching a nerve. no more pain or swelling! He does not care about your well being. i think he would not have ANY patients if they were able to read the reviews first! I know i would have chosen someone else! ASTONISHED at Dr. Ferry's lack of interest in his patients!! Staff is rude and unprofessional. When calling to schedule an appointment, the person who answered the phone seemed more interested in laughing and joking with a co-worker instead of being helpful in answering questions. Dr. Ferry is arrogant and has terrible bed-side manners...couldn't even be bothered with introducing himself when he walks into a hospital room. Would NEVER recommend this office for Orthopedic care. read more

Dr. Ferry is such a great surgeon, I would refer anyone to him. What a great staff, they got me to be seen same day for severe knee pain.

Dr. Ferry examined my wife who hurt the area below her shoulder blade and told her that it's all in her head. he said the mri the tech took reported no problems but the doctor himself couldn't be bothered to examine the films himself. if he had he would of realized the mri stops short of the muscle group in question. she has been burdened by this injury for a while and would like a doctor to LISTEN to her instead of their own opinions. to be honest, Dr. Ferry is a cold person and should be cleaning toilets. read more
