We ended up here because we were waiting on an event at St. John the Divine and this is a few hundred feet away. I had also walked about 15 miles over the last 24 hours, and really wanted a fat, juicy burger. For appetizers we ordered the Mac n cheese bites and the baby Bavarian pretzels. The pretzels were not baby. They were huge. They were also fine, but the cheese sauce was flavorless and more like queso or cheez-wiz. The Mac n cheese bites were uninspired. All three of us got the California Lounge Burger, made with Angus beef, cheddar, avocado, iceberg lettuce, tomato, and a brioche bun. The beef was unseasoned and probably a little overcooked. The avocado wasn't ripe and also unseasoned. The tomato was mushy. The bread was weird and doughy. I bougie, so sometimes wonder if I'm the problem, but all three of us felt the same. So the burger is the problem. Service was fairly attentive until the end, when I think our server went off shift and we had to flag someone down for the check. Typical bar food: various burgers, BLT, jerk fried chicken. Brunch food like chicken and waffles, omelettes, eggs Benedict, tacos. The dinner menu isn't much different than the brunch menu, aside from the fact they remove the omelettes and add a couple entrees. It served its purpose, but I wouldn't go back here again. read more

My review is based purely on their happy hour on Wednesday. I totally understand. This is a very different spot on a weekend. But on one of the first really nice warm days of spring 2026, it had six dollar palmoas, air-conditioning and remarkably tasty $5 spicy crunchy chicken wraps that were surprisingly generous but didn't spoil my appetite for dinner. I got invited to my friend's engagement party and we celebrated here with a big table. I arrived the earliest and somehow felt kind of pressure to order something since I sat down for a long time. I ordered nachos but the issue was they took over 10 minutes to give my credit card back. I got super nervous because I thought they either lost my card or stole it. I had to asked them 2 times for them to explain to me that there was an issue with their system. That's why they were holding it for a long time. That was not the best impression I got from this place. Second, the water I received tasted very strange. I almost split it out once I drank it. It's as if it was mixed with gasoline (I am not sure where the water came from). The portion of the nachos was huge but a I think it needs more sauce on it. Once I started eating the nachos from the middle, it was too bland. Later, when my friends slowly arrived, we ordered more food. The other food tasted better and we stayed for a very long time. The water we got tasted really weird as if it was mixed with bad gasoline. When I mentioned it they came over and replaced it but didn't apologize or even say anything. The new water also tasted like gasoline. They also had to hold my credit card for a long time due to their systems not working. They also weren't able to effectively explain some of their menu items. Ambiance (3/5): It's a dark sports bar type ambiance with many TVs playing various basketball games. There is two floors and we were on the second floor. Came here for happy hour since I love the uptown location so much. Super big upstairs (private party downstairs so didn't see that area) and our bartender was the NICEST. Such a cute spot and was so excited at first to try but when me and my sister walked in we were met with the worst attitude ever by the bartender/ server. I had to ask if they were open just because the bartender did not say one word to us and turned away when we walked towards the bar. She was giving us one word answers, barely looking us in the face, and just did not have a welcoming attitude. We ended up sitting and getting drinks and when the next group of people came in to sit, the same server was more than happy to welcome them in with a nice greeting and conversation. That is when we decided to leave because clearly we were not welcome. The attitude towards the white tourists compared to my sister and I were like night and day. A chill pub that's walking distance from Washington Square Park -- definitely a popular NYU jaunt, was fairly busy on a weeknight. They have trivia downstairs and were playing the Copa America match upstairs -- both levels have plenty of chair and seating. It was a smidge loud inside, but that could've also been because of the game. I like that they have a ton of daily specials, and we got a pretty affordable bottle of white wine to share for the 'Wine Wednesday' special. I'd definitely come back for a chill night. read more

In the raucous din of Amity Hall, with wall mounted screens showing sports visible from every corner of the bar, drinks come cheap but not fast enough. On a crowded Saturday when some championship was at stake, my group threw back shots, beers, and cheap well drinks, and we cheered the players on tv on. While watching grown men scream at televisions is hardly my idea of a thrill, even I found moments of exhilaration being swept up in the rowdy crowd energy. As the game grew tense, the swarm around the bar made it impossible to order another round until the game was over and people filed out. Though I can't envision myself coming back by choice, I have a slight appreciation for why sports fans gather around these sort of events. The drinks may be bottom-shelf, but for the cost of a few diluted vodka sodas, you can buy access to a special kind of kinship you probably won't find at any bougie cocktail lounge. read more

I've been here twice and don't really think I'll be back. They have some fun specials and happy hour deals but the drinks are consistently slow to come out and they taste bad. Both times that I got a margarita, there was no sweet or sour flavor, just tequila. All of my friends agreed that our drinks tasted more like alcohol than anything else-- one even said that her drink tasted like a Yankee candle. The food is good and reasonably priced. I tried the $10 Tasty Bird Tuesday chicken sandwich and did really like it, and the cheese curds are also good. Everyone liked what they ordered, from nachos to mac n cheese balls. It's easy to get a table for a group here on a weeknight without a reservation and the music is not so loud that you can't hear each other talk. The music actually has been pretty good consistently. Premium Bottomless: - Which is 90 minutes of Mimosas, Bloody Marys, Seasonal Sangria, Margaritas, Tecate & Narragansett Of course we went with the premium; because why not? The drinks are solid and the Bloody Mary is tasty; I would highly recommend trying out the Irish coffee:) For our main courses: 1. I was feeling in a greasy kind of mood, so I ordered the Nachos Done Right; I loved all of the toppings and the chips are very good! 2. Sad to say but I also got the Skillet Chipotle Mac N' Cheese and I am over the moon that I did! The spiral thin past is tasty and the chipotle is not overdone (must try) 3. Hot Chic Sandwich; I did not order this item, but the person I was with did and he said the the chicken was fantastic and it was one of the best chicken sandwiches he had tasted (seems like a very popular item at Amity as multiple people around us was ordering it). NYU Graduate Mixer! A bit loud but with the whole place packed that's expected. Prices are VERY reasonable, drinks are good (but I didn't have that many) (and strong!), and happy atmosphere. While the walls are dark the bar area is fairly lit, so the bar area feels bigger. Multiple floors make this great for multiple events. Would certainly go again! If only to see the dinner side too. read more

I have been to Amity Hall a ton of times before but only for watching sports. For my birthday I wanted to go to a brunch, but my friend requested Amity Hall since it has $20 mimosa towers. I was a bit nervous since I know this place is a really fun place to drink so maybe the food wouldn't be great. I was absolutely wrong. *We came during brunch hours so we had to order off the brunch menu.* We got the Chicken Little, the Nutella French Toast, and the Chicken Sandwich. The Chicken Sandwich was not on the brunch menu but the waitress recommended an order with a substitution that was almost exactly the Chicken Sandwich. The food was really delicious. I came to watch the UNC vs Alabama basketball game and had a table reservation upstairs. They have several TVs mounted on the wall so I had no trouble seeing the game throughout the night. The bar was packed with UNC fans and had a good energy. They also have tower Thursdays where they serve 100 oz of beer in a tall dispenser, if anyone is looking to have a good time. I got a draft Pilsner which was good but felt a little expensive to be $18. The servers were attentive though and given the good crowd I would consider coming back to watch another game. read more

Came here for brunch and had a great time! We got the tower of mimosas. How it works is you have 90 minutes to get as many refills as you would like for the mimosas. It was kind of hard to flag down to wait staff for a refill or any other concerns which wasn't ideal. I ordered the eggs Benedict with no bacon, but when they brought out my meal it did have bacon. The staff was able to replace my meal pretty quickly. It was a good meal! Nothing to rave about, but others in my group really loved their food, so I would be interested in coming back and trying other items! Overall good place for brunch!! Quick recap: this place is a solid bar spot with good drink prices and good bar food. This place is way more chill than anything in the area. Come here to hang and chill, not to come get hammered and play beer pong. I've come here plenty of times for a good clean bar scene. The buffalo tenders are good. The fries are decent. If you love a solid selection of quality craft beers then Amity Hall is a terrific choice to start off your night. It you can't stand the yuppy, preppy, frat boy crowd then for sure get here early to start off your night. Our group did this just a few days ago and quaffed down some tasty beers and ciders before making our escape to further escapades in the city. The place itself looks great with a below street level pub area, and a much larger upstairs beer hall type room. Nice decor with brick walls, wooden bench seating, and chalkboard beer lists showing off the day's selections. A few large flat screens in each room but not too many to make this a spots bar. It's all about the beer here. Long lines of taps are behind each bar sporting an impressive array of craft libations. We started off in the downstairs pub area and then moved to the upper level when it opened around 5pm. Found that many of the tables up there were already reserved but we commandeered a small bench in front of a fireplace that was just the right size for our group of happy campers. When we were handed the beer menu I was impressed. Really nice selection of beers and ciders. You have to love a $4 pint craft beer happy hour until 7pm! Also $4 mixed drinks and daily specials too. With 20 rotating craft beer lines there is more than enough to choose from, plus a huge amount of bottled beers. Bluepoint Toasted Lager, Founders Porter, Abita, Ommegang, Leffe Blonde, Delirium Tremens, Chimay Tripel, Magic Hat #9, Boddingtons, Sierra Nevada, Brooklyn, and so many others. The happy hour beers are listed in red on the menu with about twelve or so to choose from as I recall with some decent choices. Saw some signs that they also do a growler program, unlimited booze brunch on weekends, and feature Premiership Soccer on the large projection screen with drink specials. Looks like they have a nice little pub menu but we did not try any of that on this evening. We hung out until about 7 before heading out to our next destination. While we were there we found the service to be quick and attentive. Probably because it was early on a Friday and it was still kind of empty. Saw some of the frat type crowd start to come in to the upstairs as we were leaving, so it was our cue to vamboose anyway.
